  1. Jeez, how is Miyamoto not #1? Kinda sad the day developers forget their VG history .
  2. I never commented on this? I remember when this mix was originally posted. Instant awesomeness, it made me seek out the other chiptunes too. My favorite of the trio of chiptunes is the Terra one to be honest, but this one is a close second. Definitely captures the chaos in the original song.
  3. If you can get it to fit, then I'll take it - I think I'll have to hear a WIP given what I've heard of the Wild ARMS track just to be sure it fits though. What track do you have in mind?
  4. Nice indeed - I've only just heard of you guys from VV. Can't wait to hear more!
  5. Look no further to here for what looks to be a sale of quite an insane collection: http://vgmdb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=8291
  6. As dated as this mix is, I've always loved this one way when I first heard it in 2002. It inspires pure nostalgia for me .
  7. Oh, for a second there you had me excited .
  8. Am I completely clueless how the costume thingy works then? How do you get them?
  9. Bumping this up - still in need of artists for plenty of quality tracks!
  10. This was recently overheard in #ocrstaff: [11:33] <Level99mobile> Mix of the year [11:33] <Level99mobile> No contest [11:33] <Bahamut> beats out Ska Buffet? [11:34] <Level99mobile> Fuck NiGHTS, fuck ska buffet, fuck it all [11:34] <Level99mobile> DEFLEKTOR [11:34] <oceansandrew> the man said NO CONTEST This mix is indeed very kickass! Well done!
  11. I understand, but I know Chernabogue was looking originally to have the album posted by OCR. I completely understand the sentiment and agree with it, but I was simply explaining the legal hassles from what I understand & that this site is of a high enough profile where it becomes a risk to do something like that (which is why we give away any CDs we print and the $ comes out of pocket - I've personally spent over $500 on various CD printings). But this all is a digression from the rock solid album that is Vampire Variations! I like how several of the artists on the album showed progression other than BONKERS. Chernabogue has been improving a lot too from when I heard some stuff two years ago, and The Dual Dragons' presence on this album was different than I was expecting from them heh. Good surprises all around .
  12. Brandon just got owned. I posted in the Shizz thread, but I'll post again here - I'm loving the album, great job by all involved. Major props to BONKERS though for his excellent job here - I think his work here is stronger than in the upcoming Maverick Rising album (although one of his songs in particular for that album is pretty damn good too). I should add to Dave's comments on the album for X dollars line of thought - OCR plays it pretty tightly when it comes to album printings for legal reasons. That isn't to say that we don't understand the desire to charge just to recoup printing costs, but monetary accountability can be a liability legally, and just one that OCR doesn't want to risk.
  13. So I hear this album is coming out sometime soon?
  14. The link works for me. As far as I'm aware though, I can only stream the WIP. I'm not listening on headphones currently, but it sounds like the WIP is lacking in the low end currently. A fatter beat would help a lot. I'm not sure what else could use work, but this sounds like it has a pretty good foundation and a solid arrangement.
  15. Anyone up for a draft sometime this week? Somehow I feel like I've missed all the M:tG love.
  16. Can we get a passworded server for the event or does it have to be public?
  17. Echo what everyone else said - love the voice, would love to see it come to fruition in a mix.
  18. Damn, this mix was posted right after I left for boot camp? How mean . This is a killer take on it - I was already familiar with Archangel's work, but I had not heard this until now. It impressed me immediately with its lush soundscape. It is unique in how strong it comes through while not truly pushing itself to a huge climax. It shows a nuance in arranging with a small orchestra. The latter end of the song isn't as wowing as how it starts IMO - I would've liked to see more of that woodland instrument (what was it?). I still enjoyed this immensely and it makes me excited to hear more .
  19. This game & its music hold a special place in my heart, and for some reason this overworld map song entrances me: I challenge someone to tackle it!
  20. Don't worry, it'll be out in due time. Meanwhile, there are a couple of other albums getting ready to come out too, so don't fret!
  21. Oh, man I am bad at commenting sometimes . But yeah, the guitar playing needs to be tightened up. It needs to sound seemless, pauses included. I say the high end could use a bit of dialing back too, but that's related to the need for more in the low end. I like the ideas there though, it just needs refining so it sounds full.
  22. The drums sounds like some of the weakest parts to me as well. It is definitely in need of a fuller sound. The lower end background synth could use some work too, although I'm not sure what would improve it. The guitar sample sounds nice for a sample though, if mechanical at times - around 1:17 and a little afterwards that aspect gets exposed some.
