Wav patches not working
Nutritious replied to awesomeman500's topic in Music Composition & Production
Hmm, that usually means the file (wav) that the project referenced has been moved or deleted and it can't find it. Edit: The demo version with all the samples is a free download, so you should be able to get them from the FL website. -
Another homeworld remix for me. Original - http://nutritiousmultimedia.googlepages.com/homeworld-06.mp3 Remix - http://nutritiousmultimedia.googlepages.com/HomeworldBridgeofSighsRemixTrack6.mp3 Basically, I'm attempting to take tracks from Homeworld and interpret them into an orchestral/filmscore type genre (or at least into realistic instruments). This is the second track I've worked on so far. It's admittedly more interpretive than my Kadesh remix, so it proably wouldn't fly here. The original is only 1:34 and a very basic melody. Let me know what you think.

Bump, suggestions? I'd imagine something like this isn't worth submitting since it's a slow buildup and is pretty interpretive from the source, but if anyone disagrees, feel free to let me know

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (ENTIRE Soundtrack!)
Nutritious replied to GashouseGorilla's topic in ReMix Requests
Hmm, interesting concept with this project. It seems to be in it's very beginning stages though - don't you think it's a bit early to be requesting musicians? Song covers aren't too hard to do and I think I might be interested at some point. I just think others (as well as I) would be hesitant to begin working on music for a project so early, before you can tell for sure that it will go to completion. -
Problem: Audio clips and tempo changes
Nutritious replied to Legion303's topic in Music Composition & Production
Open up the audio clip and move the Time knob all the way down to 0. It won't stretch the clips anymore, you'll just notice them change size as the song changes tempo (which can also cause problems, unfortunately, depending on the song) -
Tim Follin: Dirge for the Follin - Musician Recruitment
Nutritious replied to Liontamer's topic in Projects
Hey LT, As part of PRC99, I worked on this song from the OST of Silver Surfer by Tim Follin. If it's still availble, I'd like to join up on the project and continue working on the track. -
Wow, gorgious song. Kinda makes me wish I'd played the game. Don't know if I'll come up with anything, but it might be worth a shot.

Holy crap, this song is awesome. Playlisted.

Yeah, as of this week I'm a new dad. It's hard to describe what it's like looking at a baby (boy for me) and knowing that you helped create him and are responsible for him. Guess you just have to experience it for yourself to really get it. I don't think it's sunk in yet for me (though a few sleepless nights should take care of that So, are there any other parents here at OCR? Or am I just getting old?

The glass is half full I guess -
I'd like to add that my experience only extends to desktops I've bought, so I can't say for sure what quality those laptops are (though I have no reason to believe they'd be bad). Here and Here are other threads that may be helpful for you.

Sent my song to LT to be crushed by constructive criticism. -
Personally, I'd never go back to buying computers from the mainline companies. All the bulkware they load on combined with sub-par hardware will slow you down a lot. A few years ago, I bought a computer (HP or compaq or something, can't remember) 3.0 gHz 1 gig ram blah blah. It just wasn't running that fast. There always was a pause before it would respond to commands, like right-clicking the desktop. I ended up formatting and reinstalling windows and it ran about twice as fast as before - but still not so great. Fortunately, the monitor went out while I was still under warranty at the store, so I took it back. Ended up putting together and ordering a custom rig (from cyberpowersystem.com I think) with the same exact specs as the other comp, except they just load windows and office if you order it, and you get better quality hardware. It was lightyears ahead of the store-bought computer in speed. Anyway, I'd recommend looking at getting a laptop from abs (www.abs.com) or cyber power (www.cyberpowerpc.com) or something. Anyway, just my 2c.

Oh, yeah, when using Hijack this, NEVER remove anything unless you absolutely know what you're doing or an expert has told you to online. You can really mess things up. -
FL Studio 7 Problem - What's this sound?
Nutritious replied to tyrog's topic in Music Composition & Production
Nope, it's built into the demo version to get you to buy it -

Fixed Man, this song was hard to get going on with good ideas. I think there is such a thing as too awesome of a source tune. Anyway, I'm finally moving along at a good clip with it -
Happy Birthday DJP

OCR Site FAQ addresses this. I'm personally glad there's no classifications, it's forced me to listen to all the music and find what i personally like - regardless of a genre. You're free to make a playlist based on your mood or whatever though.

Security forums and Hijack This. Just be sure to read and follow the stickies first. -
I just tested this out on my comp, it's really really weird: Test1 - I imported his project, but I didn't have the same soundfont as his drums. I muted everything except the drums, added a piano soundfont, and exported the track. Everything comes out fine. Test2 - I found the same soundfont he's using online, assigned it to the sound, muted everything else and exported the track. This time, the drums just pretty much quit. It doesn't suddenly stop, it kind of just peeters out; it plays fine up until a certain point, then the notes just start dropping out for no reason. I'm wondering if it's something wrong with the soundfont - like it can't handle too many notes in a single pattern or something. Maybe if you split it out to different patterns (as I stated in my email) it will play throughout the song.
