  1. While we're talking about Flash videos in this vein... http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/157388
  2. Not really the type to maintain old consoles. Tis what emulation is for. So you can put any console with reliable emulation on my list. I have Windows/OSX, a PS2/PS1, and a Wii/Gamecube. Will probably get a DSi-XL when it comes out here. A number of games for 360 and PS3 also come out for Windows, and there are not enough good games to make a PSP worth it. I also follow the indie game scene, so I get more gaming mileage out of my computer than many.
  3. Bumping this thread. I can't believe I didn't know this existed: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/472495 It's the C-64 layout in flash form! Give it a try. It's very visceral.

  5. And here I thought I was gonna see a cowbell.
  6. Just look at all this cool stuff: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=osculator&search_type=&aq=f
  7. I always liked Robotnik/badnik because of the slavic ancestry it implied. The Russian/klezmer roots of his boss theme in Sonic 2 seemed to corroborate it. Put the release of the early Sonic games in the context of the crumbling USSR and it's apparent that communists like to turn peaceful woodland creatures into mechanical automatons under the direction of a tyrant. Who apparently needed to find a bunch of powerful gems or crystals, but that could have just been a response to Final Fantasy.
  8. I checked out the site again, and I realized something. Sonic's model is old school. As in "no green eyes or shoe buckles." They're rolling back EVERYTHING except for "Eggman," apparently.
  9. I was wondering about this section of the submission standards. Why was it put in place, and what is generally the way that the judges decide when a mix from a game within this category is submitted?
  10. I was talking about this a good while back. Shoot em on over, I'll take a look. I've also been mentioning the idea of live collaboration/discussion. What if there were an OCR meetup organized not so much from a social angle, but from a music-making angle? So that people could come, show what they're doing, and maybe offer some advice to other people. VNC/screensharing things would also be good (this is simple between two Macs).
  11. Way to still not show any gameplay footage with which we render any judgment. Also, video loop fail.
  12. Bookmarked. Nice to see the OSC getting more attention. For programs like Max/MSP which already have Wiimote/iPhone interfaces, this may work better. I shall have to investigate.
  13. ...Not As I Do can kiss my ass.
  14. Christina Ricci was hot in that Woody Allen movie, but I can't think of what else she's done lately.

  15. Alright, performances are sold out. Did you make it in? We should plan where/when we shall meet.
  16. I found them on a facebook ad. How long have they been around? I'm out of school for the time being, but it also seems they buy textbooks at a fair price. Will def look into that.
  17. W0rd. Let me know if you'll be able to make it up on Thurs the 25th. We can take Boltbus together. Pix, still need to know about the confirmation #.
  18. Would anyone be able to transport me to/from Albany? Maybe Aaron...
  19. Wes, did you sell stuff you didn't have with you to people at MAGFest? I had no idea people could do that. I have a shitton of stuff I need to get off my hands. At any rate, I bought a high quality FF Dawn of Souls poster. $5 off the sticker price, and those who saw it universally went "whoa!"
  20. Heh, Friday's comes from a tradition started at MAG 6, when 40+ of us went to the local Fridays and took up a whole wing of the restaurant. Do you need me to PM my confirmation # to you?
  21. The new site? Using frames, which went out of style before last decade? Okay, that's a little harsh, but in all seriousness I don't think they present the best impression. They're awkward, make navigation more difficult, and there are better way to architect the site so the information remains visible. In terms of the music, I'll check it out when I can.
  22. While I'm not the biggest fan of being hijacked, I'll go ahead and repost my info here: Welp, I just bought and printed my 3-day pass, so I'm pretty much guaranteed to be there. I had also submitted a panel, but unfortunately it was not accepted for this year. But this does mean I know that panels have been chosen. Is OCR among them, and if not, is the group still planning on going? For how many days? In terms of transportation, Boston is the hub of many bus and train stops. I will probably take Boltbus, which is good for those in the New York, Philly, or DC areas, or anyone who can get there a day or so ahead. Amtrak is good for those coming from a more southerly East Coast location. Otherwise, flight will get you there. But book tickets soon - there will likely be a mass easterly migration for this thing. They have also talked about hotels (which I won't be staying in - I have friends in the area) so you can check those out. I have not been to a PAX before - only MAGFest and Otakon. Which would you say it's closer to? Who's already thinking about a Friday's run? It's over 2 months away, but if Blind and Jade can plan a meetup for August now, we can certainly start this. Hope to see you there!
  23. I've seen no evidence that any of these dudes are bad enough to rescue the president. Of course, the secret service would probably handle that. Maybe I'll kidnap DJP (OCR's president) and see who can rescue him. Most dudes should be reasonable fierce enough to do that.
