  2. I'm also happy to provide assistance - (modest) electric guitar & bass, keyboard/synth stuff ... if any Renoise users out there want a collaborator, that would be fun. I'll claim a track of my own when I dig myself out of the other stuff I've piled on myself.
  3. X8 also has a few (some are apparently unused themes, according to Youtube comments):
  4. Some of the Mavericks seem to have two themes, how does that operate?
  5. Yay! Uuhhhh, have to think about the source choice a bit. I've been mostly listening to newer indie stuff lately and I doubt there's that many MIDIs available. Nice tune, Paladin! I dig the dubby sound choices. There's one simple/chippy synth doing the arpeggio which sticks out as a bit simple/dry, but overall the sound palette is cool. I especially like how you handled the "laggy twang" in the first few measures (or whatever). I think it was a good choice to not incorporate the key modulations (or whatever). Yeah.
  6. OCR would accept it, if it was up to the site standards. I know MSSIAH as the MIDI cartridge for C64, I want one of those (I have a C64). But it never occurred to me to check out the software in advance - is it available separately?
  7. I'm definitely in, I just need to take my time to go through the Maverick themes - I have played maybe 15 minutes of the X series in total. Meanwhile, let me introduce Maverick Astley: Jorito, me & Tuberz McGee. PREPARE TO BE ... ROCKROLLED
  8. I've got my project open 24/7 and work on it every five minutes I can. : )
  9. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Glued together and uploaded.
  10. I tried to start something quick, but it's not coming together very well. : )
  11. Oh wow, 300th round. I do feel obligated to enter, I must say! Nice idea for the source, too!
  12. Looks great to me. The look reminds me of the original Star Wars trilogy. FWIW I like flat-shaded, texture-free polygonal graphics anyway for the lean-and-clean style, this reminds me a little bit of that. The gamepad cockpit view and 3rd person on the telly may be a nice touch too. Fun idea, at least.
  13. That was remarkably good. Some of the harmonies were a bit on the murky side, but with a little tweaking they'd be all nice and jazzy. Reminds me of the mellower Nintendo stuff on the DS. Well done!
  14. Very much looking forward to tonight's request/learning stream. (Around noon for US-ers). It's been very enlightening, entertaining and inspiring to watch (and hear, of course) Sam work through the requests. Some are simpler tunes, others are fiendishly complex. As an arranger, it's fascinating to watch someone (and someone very skilled) work through figuring out the piece by ear. I definitely hope to pick up something from there. Another aspect is that the request tend a bit away from the most known VGM tunes, so I've discovered a lot of great music I didn't know before. And finally, of course, the performance on Sundays with the finished arrangements is quite a joy to listen to, even more so live. The arrangements are good (it's always great to hear Shnabubula put his own spin on things), they playing is good, and the live setting adds excitement. Since the Sunday show is a bit harder for me to catch I very much appreciate the recordings! edit: So if it wasn't clear I highly recommend catching the streams and checking out the recordings.
  15. Nice to see some 16-bit home computer representation.. and the tune isn't half bad! I think the Atari ST version sounds better than the Amiga version, actually. Though the latter has a fun, quirky sound of its own.
  16. Congratulations!
  17. Very nice. I have no attachment to Shenmue, having never played it, but it's nice to see that the trilogy is on its way to completion.
  18. Hah, that was fun. I had forgotten about this game completely.
  19. I love touch guitar, especially Chapman Stick and Warr guitars, so the title was an immediate sell for me. Kraid's Lair is a great theme to dabble around with guitar & it never has occurred to me how well it fits for touch style.. and it indeed sounds very natural. Nice playing! The ending leaves me desiring for more - I can easily envision a powerful band arrangement starting from there. Very nice stuff!
  20. Oh yes, this was a great drive, this was so much fun and I'm still so thankful for everyone involved! The links to the podcast were broken, and I've now fixed them ... I still recommend grabbing the show here ... especially check out Sir J's massive SFII medley at the end of the second SFII block a bit past the 1:27 spot.
  21. Yeah, that's a nice bunch of finished tracks! I've got to get up to speed with this ...
  22. gogogo! Progress is looking good.
  23. I've gotten some nice progress going.. didn't have as much time as I'd liked, but the direction was a surprise and that's always good. Hoping to send some stuff relevant people very soon.
  24. I just read the mixpost writeups and I'm now terrified of actually listening to this album. It'll either blow the top of my head off & leave me with severe feeling of inadequacy, or it won't live up to the hype, and I don't think it's the latter.
  25. That's really cool to learn about the synths. I guess the game might be a challenge to emulate?
