  1. I love that translation. It means "a bombproof thing", which is an idiom for something that's absolutely certain.
  2. Let's see if I can whip something together. edit: Yes, I could.
  3. Wow, that piece from Bravely Default is really cool. I believe it fits very well with For Tomorrow's Sake, they have different feeling to them so alternating between those might work really well. It's just.. there's so much goodness in there, that'll be the hard part! I'll just have to try to simplify things to make it in time. So much could be done with this.
  4. When will the "Currently.." thread be updated? Also, if The Pixies submitted ( , I believe it uses about the first minute of that), what would your decision be? Some pretty badass music in that game btw..
  5. Still working.. rerendering the clavinet because of the hum.. hopefully done in an hour or two!
  6. What, no Saga Frontier 2? Ha, we have a PRC match-up with Yami. Cool.
  7. Gotcha on the notes & breakdown, will provide. Now, back to that Mega Man piece..
  8. Yahh, getting pretty excited here! Can't wait to see what the first journey theme will be.
  9. If Tommy V. Dunbar submitted his original recording of the Archon & Archon II music, would it get posted? I'm just asking this as an excuse to post a link to that cool story.
  10. Do you have samples of your playing available somewhere?

  11. Since you say an additional tracker interface would be nice, I'll have to recommend giving Renoise a go (has free demo). But it does fall short of your MIDI and piano roll requirements. Perhaps reViSiT would work for you for the tracker part. It's an Impulse Tracker -style tracker implemented as a VSTi plugin. It'll work with most DAWs. I've tried it a while back with Cubase, and it worked all right.
  12. Someone do this in about three-four days and submit it to the Game Boy 25th anniversary EP! I believe it's still lacking a Mario mix.
  13. I have a mighty appreciation for this, pretty much. Maaann, I need to go back to some Doors listening for sure. I only feel the production is a little bit too clean.. and yeah, I wouldn't have minded the piece being longer, like with a dirty organ solo at the end or something. I also do think the panning works, it doesn't even sound "unbalanced on purposed" to me, I didn't particularly notice it before reading the write-up.
  14. Loved the minimalistic vibe here, the pad from the beginning was great; also the bouncy, distorted toms(?) worked very well. I thought the flute sound was a little piercing, perhaps what Marmiduke was saying about the sounds not meshing 100% together. It's also a bit short, but what's there more than makes up for it. The source was taken to an interesting direction too. Great sense of space, I generally like mixes that deliberately take their time to develop.
  15. This is definitely a sweet little chill-out track. The delayed electric piano sounds good, and there's a lot of neat percussion padding & other atmospheric sounds and effects going on. Well built, inspiring and enjoyable!
  16. Heh, I just played SB5 yesterday.. I only play the Battle mode though. I know the tune from other Bomberman games. It's great. Hmh, I really don't have the time, but that piece would be nice to do.
  17. Yeah, I remember this from the Workshop forums, it's nice to see it posted now! With even all the tasty sax in there, my favourite part is 1:23-1:40.. the bells sound so very good there, I'm not sure if the (lovely) clock sample from the beginning is there in the background, but it works very well with the clock motif.
  18. Okay, if I ever suffer from insomnia early on the Sunday morning I'll keep it in mind!
  19. I told Pleiade (with whom I arranged Sanctuary on the Wild Arms album) about this concept and he thought it was quite cool, he'd be interested in contributing!
  20. Looking forward to watching that one, like each one! I've enjoyed all the shows since I last commented. Especially the TMNT one, though I sadly missed that one (thanks for the shout outs folks!). That one is especially worth watching for the screenshare insights of FoxxDragon's cover art and José's trailer, fascinating stuff!
  21. Thanks for the quick reply on the RPG compo thread!

  22. Hmm. How about a character that tags along with the good guys but does not take part in battles or does nothing the player can control? Only shows up in story bits having an advisor-type role.
  23. Oh yes, this is.. tight, varied & cohesive, creative.. Not exactly my kind of prog but I very much appreciate the prog sensibilities in any case. To me it sounds very accessible too. The placement of the lead synths in the mix, especially the chippier one, felt a bit separate from the rest of the instrumentation. That's about all the criticism that comes to mind. Very neat stuff, my favourite bit probably being 1:19-1:31. Made me check the sources; I really like Mars Lighthouse! The emotive solo at the end was also very well done. --Eino
  24. Castle of Illusion on Master System!
  25. Hey it's a favourites thread! So many great games, soundtracks & memories. I'll just mention two: for the Master System; classic 8-bit tunage in this almost metroidvania platformer for the Mega Drive; superb fun tactical RPG, with really great sound from the machine (I also thoroughly enjoyed Shining Force Gaidens II and III on Game Gear emulator recently). Honestly back in the day I didn't have the appreciation for the 16-bit Sega's sound I have now and considered SNES's sample-based sound much superior.. until this soundtrack made me open my ears!ReMixes: Halls of Abandonment "sold" OCR to me (from Alisia Dragoon) Rare Mineral Addict is classic Shnabubula goodness from a fantastic soundtrack from a super fun game that I had a privilege experiencing in its own time (Landstalker) Burnt Mota and Mama Brain kind of take the good bits of Phantasy Star II's music.. and make them super good! Inside the Roadhouse from Zillion Five-Sided Square from Shining Force CD (the source is originally from Shining Force Gaiden II for Game Gear) Down In The Dungeon Just Creatures And Me - some more Shining series goodness (Shining In The Darkness) Killer Studio Chops from Prime is pretty cool and fun, it's a Sony game for Sega CD - not sure if you wanted games developed/published by Sega or just for Sega machines though A huge chunk of Be Aggressive! Hey, pretty sweet that Rexy mentioned my Ristar arrangement. I *really* need to pick it up and give it some more work.
