  1. This one sounds very "happy". You cannot listen to this and not start dancing a little. I guess the chiptune helps a lot and brings a nice vibe to the track. The overall mixing is maybe a bit too "high-pitched" and lacks some bass, but that's far from being a problem. Instead, it reinforces the flying atmosphere. The ending is a bit abrupt though. Liked it.
  2. Beautiful, I really like the instrumentation and performance. Quite an interesting rock version with vocals on the source. The production is very clean, even when a lot of stuff is happening. The vocalists nail this track. A really nice introduction to "The Impresario" but also a nice track on its own.
  3. Very nice performance and choice on the instruments. Very groovy and jazzy remix -- it has a real Ghypsy feeling/vibe to it. The overall atmosphere is excellent, as is the production. A very unique remix.
  4. Interesting introduction, very cinematic during the first half -- not what WillRock usually does, but it's very nice. The piano and synths carry the track in a very relaxing way. The second half is way more energic, and those solos are crazy. The final part with the electric guitar is really epic, love it. A very cool remix, blending different genres for the best!
  5. Really nice raw power here, and also a very cool blend of different genres: it has dubstep, metal, cinematic percussion, and a bit of orchestra -- very creative indeed! I like the energy that comes from the arrangement, and from the hot mixing. OA's solos are awesome. As Flex said himself, it's perfect for headbangs! \m/ ^^ \m/
  6. Very nice playing here. The arrangement is beautiful, and sounds great. The different variations in the arrangement and playing make it a super nice remix. Nothing to add -- go listen to it!
  7. Really nice orchestral work here. This sounds a lot like a classical piece with different sections/variations. The use of all the instruments really adds something and allows to create lots of different moods in the track. It maybe could have benefited from a more strict cut (in terms of length) but this is not a problem. Very well produced and arranged.
  8. Interesting remix. The ear candy is real here -- I like how you remixed the iconic "Kefka's Theme" with all those crazy effects and synths. The different sections with different sounds make the remix interesting and less repetitive/boring. Some glitchier moments didn't make it for me (like 4:10) but the remix was enjoyable overall.
  9. Very nice take on "Terra's Theme". The samples are of great quality, which makes the remix even more beautiful. The live instruments are also well performed. The Pan flute reminds me of the Jungle Book (Disney's) soundtrack. An incredible remix, with great qualities of arrangement and instrumentation. Definitively recommended!
  10. Man, those "Kraid's Lair" remixes did a nice job bringing me here in 2006/2007. But sorry, I don't want to leave anytime soon.
  11. A waltz remix? Now that's not something you see everyday on OCR! Nice arrangement effort here, especially as two themes are combined. Your samples are great, even if some articulations (brass and flute) sounded a little strange at some point. I li,ed it, and it's nice to see somthing that isn't often heard on the website. Bravo, Kris!
  12. Interesting. It has a lot of energy, but doesn't feel too "happy" at the same time. I like the different sections you introduced. Solid work on the arrangement and on the production, especially if it comes from the FFCC. Not my cup of tea, but I appreciated it.
  13. A nice piano piece here. I'm not very familiar with the soundtracks from early FF games (especially II and III) but since I heard nothing shocking, I guess the transitions between different sources worked pretty well. Loved the ending with the "Dead Theme" from FF1. The playing is excellent, and the tempo changes bring some nice variations. Quite emotional and keeps this feeling throughout.
  14. Nice guitar work here -- it sounds quite raw, but I guess it nicely fits the source/theme. The piano and other instruments are nice (but maybe quiet) additions. The track has a "sickening" feeling to it, I guess it comes from the minor chords or something like that -- it's not negative, I think it fits the track too. The production is excellent, and the ending was interesting. A nice metal remix -- not my fav though.
  15. Interesting intro with the synths and more electro stuff. It quickly goes to full metal later on -- I expected no less from BONKERS! The guitar work is impressive, and the blend of metal with electro elements (and even chiptune) is nicely done. Very nice break after the 3 minute mark. The solos are really impressive -- it sounds a bit like the Golden Sun soundtrack at some points. Nice remix from Nick -- keep 'em coming! \m/
  16. Interesting take on that theme. The glitchy stuff is working quite well, even if some stuff felt a bit out of place sometimes. The violin was quite unexpected at first but blends nicely with the rest of the instruments -- it's Jeff Ball after all. Clean production too, even with lots of reverb/synths. A nice relaxing/chill remix here.
  17. Hum, that drum solo at the beginning is nice. The overall production is clean. I really like where this is going: blast beats and then harpischord and strings? That's interesting! Some parts reminded me of the Binding of Isaac: Rebirth soundtrack (which I love). I liked the quieter parts too, with the cleaner guitars. Excellent and polished work.
  18. Ah yes! This one is one of the latest tracks I got for VV3. It is nice to see how versatile an orchestra can be: bombastic, quiet, ominous, etc. Slimy nails all of those in his arrangement. Plus the source is awesome, so you get a super orchestral remix which fits totally the album, the game, and the Chandeliers level. Very nice job -- I already said that!
  19. This is a unique remix -- you never know what you'll get once Joe's the arranger. I like the carnival vibe, the choice of instruments is very interesting and makes this track very particular. The performance is excellent, and the production is solid. I would have removed the voice FX but I guess it fits! Nice job!
  20. New review: KotR always bring the wall of sound type of rhythm guitars and this remix is no exception! I'm not a fan of extreme metal (mostly due to the vocals) but you cannot pass on the performance here. The production is very tight, and fits the genre. It's super good! \m/
  21. Finally over 50 reviews from me! Like Necrox said, I'm also (re)discovering some fine remixes! I encourage everyone to do the same (plus you can get a nice CD lol)!
  22. LOL It starts exactly like "Requiem for the Nameless Victims" from Perfect Selection Dracula Battle -- actually the whole track has that 80's metal ballad vibe, which I like a lot. BONKERS has a strong Naoto Shibata influence, haha. Excellent production and performance (great solos!) -- love it!
  23. Very nice rock/metal remix by Sixto. The snare has a very "real" feel to it. The production is excellent and the performance is really, really good. The solos are perfectly fitting. The chiptune parts are a very neat addition, I love them. The smaller stereo-panned synths are sometimes distracting but other than that this is a great remix. The blend of metal and other elements works really well. \m/ \m/
  24. This is completely crazy and I love it. Sir J's remixes are always very detailed and excellently produced. As the above poster said, there are some moments that made me think of Inspector Gadget LOL What else is there to say? This is a great remix.
