The first Wii game I've actually wanted since Brawl? I think so. Do want

The very (I think) obscure freeware game Bonesaw has an EXCELLENT chiptune soundtrack. Here is a track Someone should go remix something from Bonesaw

I hate music videos and audiosurf, because in my head I make my own 'music videos' and when I see/play those imagination killers, it makes me see 'band playing in weird place' or 'trippy tunnel' instead of what I actually want to see, and I am sad.

'It's Been Several Weeks Since The American Release Of Brawl Day'?

Either Game Informer, or I don't really go to any one place online, but if a topic pops up in the message boards I frequent (here, facepunch, etc) then that's how I find stuff out.

Well I tried this at Best Buy It seemed okay but I 1. don't like most of the songs and 2. hate how the songs I like are ruined. Then again I never liked mixing or DJ stuff like this anyway so why am I playing this. Still, the actual gameplay seemed alright, but it's definitely not enough to convince me to buy this and a big bastard machine.

My money's on Clint Eastwood, personally. RIP Lou. I might be too young to have seen him as a kid, but his version of Mario is just as iconic as all the rest in my eyes.

Oh my god. I've always wanted a remix EXACTLY like this ever since I heard that people do remixes of video game tracks AND HERE IT IS I just wanna jizz my pants right now this is sooooo cash. I love it, it's everything I could have ever hoped for. Intense, fast, and friggin Kirby 64. I always loved Miracle Matter's theme, repetitive as it was, and this more then does it justice. PrototypeRaptor, you have made a young boys dream come true today.

Everything he said was true: terrible controls, strange limitations, stupid hat, helicopter+rope and cthulu being used for everything (although I prefer using God or Death since they're more portable). But I still like Scribblenauts so take that:tomatoface:

What completely random things remind you of video games?
Tables replied to The Derrit's topic in General Discussion
^ Similar thing, Pokemon introduced me to the word Nugget, now whenever I hear about chicken nuggets or gold nuggets or whatever I always remember Pokemon. 5000 bucks woo -

Dripping water sometimes reminds me of Majora's Mask. I THINK there was a dripping water sound underground on the way to the astronomy tower but I'm not even sure. Freebird, Another Brick On The Wall pt. 2, and Damage Inc. all remind me of Smash Brothers, among several other songs I listened to while playing that game endlessly. -
hey atma how annoying is playing through the same areas again again

SSB Brawl Main Theme WIP - orchestral breaks/big beat
Tables replied to Sole Signal's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
Oh kickass, I've been carrying the WIP of this baby on my iPod since forever. Great to see a satisfactory conclusion at long last! -
The original Pokemon games I realized are kind of terrible. The improvements, at least the ones made in Gold & Silver, are so essential that it makes going back silly (bag of infinite holding, XP bar, Wooper, two extra types, actually somewhat useful ghosts, eggs, etc)

While the gimmick was very clever, And I know I could do no better, I didn't laugh as much As you guys and such, For me this was an average endeavor

So guys I dunno why but I got the CD/Shirt/Sticker early! YES

oh noooo dude quick check if there's a way to shut them off or disable the notification or something. if there isn't, i'm still buying this (mainly so I have an excuse to beat Echoes finally), but I'd love to be able to save one of my favorite games of all time from anything that takes away its immersion

Finally a sequel to Super Metroid - Shadow Complex
Tables replied to I-n-j-i-n's topic in General Discussion
To be fair, the thread title sounds kind of dickish... a sequel to Super Metroid? Really? There's plenty of better ways to get the point across that this is a very nice Super Metroid ripoff game Oh and I'm never playing this game again. I beat it on Insane, got to level 50, did every achievement and half the Master Challenges, I accidentally got a Platinum Medal on one of the Proving Grounds levels, I'm done. I'm tables, and I'm no one... and everyone. Goodnight -

Finally a sequel to Super Metroid - Shadow Complex
Tables replied to I-n-j-i-n's topic in General Discussion
Actually the story in Shadow Complex isn't that much better to be honest. The Insurgent Run was a lot easier then I thought it would be... since you can use one of your golden guns, and you can pick up a single energy tank as well as the other required items. I just need to get to level 50 and I'll leave this awesome game to die alone in my Xbox :v: (No way I'm doing the Master Challenges that make you beat the entire game really fast, I'm terrible at speedrunning) -
Kirby's Adventure's Final Battle - Sleepless Nightmare
Tables replied to Gizmo Era's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
FYI: I know nothing about music, if I'm not making sense don't listen to me I like the intro a lot, it shows a lot of potential. The ticking IMO is pretty cool, and the way the Nightmare theme fades in and out is a neat effect. It really gets you pumped up for whats coming. I couldn't help but be a bit disappointed with the 'big bang' after all that cool buildup. It comes way too abruptly, which may be the point, but still... I think what it is is that you introduced another intro, which also takes its time to get going, and it feels wrongly paced to have a long intro after a long intro. The way it starts out is nice, but it stays on the same loud chords (or whatever they are) for almost the whole rest of the song, without much variation. Or maybe if you just got the other instrument...synth... things in the foreground more. And think it would help if the percussion came a lot sooner. Not as soon as the initial buildup is over, but not as late as, I can't tell, the last 30 seconds of the song? Oh and I would change the current percussion, I'm not a big fan of the overly fake sounding claps. Might just be me though. Maybe you could do some 'banging', since it is now in the unconscious Nightmare part of the song. Or maybe just louder, or better clap/snaps. You seem to have a trance thing going on at the end, so the latter might not be too out of place I really like what you did towards the end with the choir type thing or whatever you had going on, really gave the end of the song a nice epic feel, along with the confusion and chaos of those final few moments. Actually, the way the background had all sorts of random sounds and noises and ticks kept it interesting. And the alarm clock made me lol at the end. tl;dr: i know nothing of music, its 1 am, cool intro, nice outro, keep it up 1. its fine 2. i'd get it going sooner, and louder first of all 3. somethings a bit abrupt about it but the general idea is great This could be a very very cool song, and I hope someone who knows a thing or two about music comes along and gives you the advice and/or motivation to bring this to its fullest potential -
This is me in a nutshell, mostly. At least when it comes to popular games a la Left 4 Dead, Halo, Call of Duty, TF2, etc. I just can't get into them... because I suck at them. I am not a credit to the team Now, I grew up with a PS1 and N64. Nostalgia has forced many of my favorite games to be from these consoles (Majoras Mask forever <3), but I also like a lot of old games that I never grew up with, especially the Mega Man series. In fact, my favorite type of game is the 2d platformer. This is because I am good at them, and I like games I'm good at. But what I really love for some reason, is the newer, 'old school' platformy games. Cave Story, Contra 4, IWBTG. Games that take the simplistic graphics and amazing chiptunes of the olden days (along with a difficulty that gets hard, even fustrating, but never where you can't progress at all, you're always learning and getting further) and apply them to modern-feeling platforming engines. I love my NES Mega Men and Marios, but they all feel sort of stiff to me. But when you take it too far in the opposite direction, you get stuff like New Super Mario Bros.: fun, yes, but it's much too simple, too easy. The 3d looks nice for the DS, but we all know that the DS can pull some amazing sprites out of its ass when it needs too. I'd rather have crisp smooth sprites then the rough pixely models. And the soundtrack... well all of this is personal opinion anyway, but I really did not like NSMBs OST at all. Now 'real' new games, of course I love them too. I respect the limitations of the old games, but I also know that if you stay in the past you miss out on a lot. You can't exactly make Dead Rising for the NES and do it justice. And the FPS, I suck at all of them but I still have fun with them. Mirrors Edge and Portal, of course, brought some nice innovative changes to the genre as well. Third Person games have my love too, Gears of War was enjoyable enough, and Dead Space was one of my favorite games of last year. Oh and even though I grew up with Mario 64 and stuff, 3d platformers are another genre that I suck at but I still like. I have terrible depth perception, and anything where you have to be fast ends with me dead (go to hell shadow mario/bowser junior). Anyway, I wrote way too much and I don't think it makes sense anymore. I'm done screw you guys tl;dr I like videogames.

Finally a sequel to Super Metroid - Shadow Complex

I am in love with this game. Right now I've beaten it 100%, did all the Proving Grounds stuff, got the joke ending, and now I'm attempting the Insurgent 4% run.
