  1. Silver Surfer - Beat Silver Surfer. Have fun getting your X-box Live achievement points now, folks!
  2. What is that free MTG site you speak of? Man, it's been ages (I mean, back in high school ages - the last edition to be included in my deck was Planescape) since I played that game seriously. Oh what the hell, for old times sake, count me in for a couple of rounds EDIT: Nevermind, I just found the whole 'Cockatrice' comment on the first post. It might just take away the main problem I had with the original game - card cost. Let's see if I can dust off my old skills, here...
  3. Oh yeah, happy brothel day. I tried to be clever and combine 'bro' & 'birthday' together and that's what came out (no clue where the 'e' & 'l' came from...). Enjoy your brothel day while it lasts.
  4. Ooo, it's your birthday. Shit, well I'll just have to join the compo to celebrate.
  5. I hear ya, man. It's sounding pretty good, so far - it'll be great to hear the finished product from you, for sure. I suppose I can start looking through the tracks we have right now and figure out what a good compilation would be made up of. While I agree that the best is probably still to come, there are still some really great stand-out tracks that are on this project. Yeah, I think I'll try to compile a little preview for y'all pretty soon, here. Maybe within the next few weeks? Stay tuned!
  6. How many segments are in any one song? This many. In short, there are a shitload of segments. Question definitively answered.
  7. You never know. Black Dynamite is probably a level past the head submissions judge, This isn't Larry being ousted - it's Larry being PROMOTED.
  8. SHHHH!! That was supposed to be a secret to EVERYBODY!
  9. Wow, I didn't expect to see this from you - very well done. I love your guitar work (so heavy), so I wasn't expecting something nearly this subdued and... not guitar . Very nice, man.
  10. It was probably rejected for the sample/mixing issues. Let me tell you right now, though, the arrangement is pretty awesome (even if a little conservative - I thought it was at least borderline with interpretation, though). I would argue that it isn't really that 'medley-ish', simply by the grace that it blends from one part to the next so well. Then again, I'm not on the panel, so I suppose my opinion on that doesn't matter. The melodies really got mixed into the background in this one, and that just bugs me. The source did this too, and it bugged me back then too, lol. In the mix it might be a good idea to make the melodies more salient while mixing down some other elements (like the harp, for example). I enjoyed it overall, though, even if OCR didn't
  11. Don't worry, I'll comment. I saw your name as the remixer, so I felt obligated to at least comment on it - even if I don't know the source (I tried to play Paladin's Quest - couldn't stand it). As usual, the orchestration was top notch. The flute was very tasteful, and the piano was quite fitting. I did feel that some of the instruments were a touch on the mechanical side (the choir, the harp & piano at times), but it didn't take enough from the track to distract me. It all seems to be mixed a little on the lower end. Very deep... but it also doesn't sound quite as crisp as I'd like. Maybe adding a touch of highs to the master track or something would give it that orchestral sheen that I'm looking for. Sounded great, though. I hope more people listen to this.
  12. Well, thanks for the compliments. I'm glad you took that track for what it was and nothing more - just a calm, relaxing groove. I'm glad it made somebody's day. :)

  13. Unfortunately, not soon. The soonest I could see it being released is late next year, and that's if I really push it forward with Bahamut. Which I plan on doing, by the way. Keep an ear on the project, though - I suspect sometime within the next month or so we'll send out a teaser, to keep people's interest in the project. There's more than enough material to get that out there for everyone, at least.
  14. Well, I don't see this baby in this thread yet. For shame - it's a flash game, it's free, and it's actually pretty good. The graphics are chibi, for better or worse, but the gameplay is pretty solid.
  15. All right, so I'd say this round of WIPs and finished tracks was moderately successful (and will be considered very successful, when everyone that said needed a few more days to submit gets their songs to me). Woo. Now it's 'bout time for me to get a new WIP date going. Too tired to think about it now, though, so if there's any suggestions (serious suggestions) maybe I'll take you up on it tomorrow.
  16. Nothing wrong with a good cover - the guitar is pretty sweet. A little on the piercing side, but still sweet. I like.
  17. ... so you DO look like Banon. With an axe. Also, I'm proud of myself for pronouncing everything (save mana) correctly all this time.
  18. It's your birthday! Happy birthday, Katie!
  19. The Lufia 2 album will make you happy. Especially the remix for the Mountain song - it's seriously fucking epic. Sorry I can't show it to you, though... album project music, and all. Prot and Monobrow are covering 'Savior' for you, as well The Lufia 1 music, though, isn't covered in that album, so I[d like to see that game get some love, too.
  20. That video... shit, man, that helps me out. I didn't even know I needed help with that, yet.
  21. Got your finished track, and both Bahamut and I have agreed that it's pretty awesome. Bahamut isn't able to update the front page ATM, I don't think, so I might need to get that page set back up on the second post again. Also, awesome work from Cyril - this is an official, public bro-hoof from me, for getting a couple of WIPs in. *clop* Enjoy season two, bro. For everyone else that can, please be awesome and submit something tonight or tomorrow for this project - I know DS' Concrete Man EP is awesome and all, but some love this direction would be a nice gesture, as well.
  22. R:TS is always available, if you want an alternative place to post. Plenty of well know remixers have used that site before - I've posted there numerous times, in fact (not that I'm that well known, but... meh). Check it out. Also, this site isn't for sharing music - indeed, youtube, newgrounds, soundcloud, etc. are far better sites, in that regard, precisely because of what you said. It's more for showcasing high quality remixes (as defined by this site - again, not our call, unfortunately) that are given the stamp of approval by the J's (and, by proxy most of the time, DjP). As explained in the 'About' section, there's so much that comes into this site now that a quality control measure is needed to make sure that the quality of remixes on this site are consistent. That means many, many rejections (including six of my own tracks), but that's the price the site pays for it. On the bright side, it also means that the posted tracks are nearly always top-notch material. Nearly.
  23. O rly? Well, like I said I don't know much about the details of this contest. Thanks for clearing that up - that actually makes your performance that much more impressive. Also, with a phone...? ... ... ... Meh, whatever works, eh?
  24. Hmm... I take it you've suffered rejection before, then? We've all been down that road. Why'd they reject you? Is it because the arrangement didn't fit their requirements? Because the production was 'poor' for one reason or another? Combination of the two? For the first reason, OCR doesn't accept music that's either too much or two little like the original. Why? Because the creator said so, and he's a monarch, not a diplomat. It's something all potential remixers just have to deal with. Sorry - it's his site, not ours, so to get posted we just have to comply. The second reason, however, is something that someone should pay attention to, if you're called out on it. Rather than getting upset about it, think about what they're saying, ask them about it if you think they're wrong, etc., and ultimately try to learn from it. There are plenty of experienced composers on that panel (many whom are VG composers as well as experienced musicians), so it would be wise to listen. I'm not saying this to attack your feelings on it, but... well, I've seen many potentially great musicians get musically stuck because they get hurt about other people's (constructive) criticism and it's a real shame to see that happen.
