  1. Firstly, it is an official OCR album - it has it's own OCR supported project thread, it's hosting plenty of big names and everything. Secondly, it is now moving at a noticeably decent pace. See, it may have started in 2009, but it suffered a freeze that lasted the entirety of 2010. Between that and Bahamut joining the military it's suffered a few hickups, but it's now moving along quite well. Just saying, is all. BTW, Bahamut and I are holding on to more than a few pretty epic tracks from that project, so be sure to stay tuned to when we can actually release them (as a preview or otherwise). Also, for the record Bionic Commando also has an official OCR album in the works (it is also official), as DjMokram's pointed out. Again, older and less known, but it's also moving along, little by little. Kyle seems to have covered WA well enough... and unlike the other two projects, there is a definite date for the release of that one. December 20th, the anniversary of the release of WA. Look forward to it. Anything MM related should be covered by the Grand Robot Master Remix Battles that Darkesword hosts every year. Look it up - the first two were excellent, and there's a new competition brewing now as we speak. If that doesn't satisfy your need for Megaman (even those past 1-3) then I can't help you... As for the others... yeah, I agree they're underrepresented here. Moar Legend of Mana, especially.
  2. Hmm... This could be a really fun remix, but right now the background saw isn't consonant with the rest of the track. Match it up better and you'll have a pretty good homage to a great track, here.
  3. Prot, Salluz, Douli, happy birthday. Keep making awesome music, keep... doing whatever you're doing, and ah man I wish people gave your compo more love Have fun being one year older, you guys.
  4. Alrighty, I got my masters lined up. 1. Magnet Man 2. Spark Man 3. Napalm Man 4. Turbo Man 5. Shade Man As for a name for the group, let's go with the Blue Bomber Brotherhood.
  5. YEEEAAAAH, let's go!

Oh yeah, and Happy birthday :P

  6. You sent an open invitation on the GWBR thread, so I accepted it. If it's still open, that is.

  7. Okay Prophetic, I'll join your posse. I'll have my five picks up shortly. Interesting idea - no elimination this time around.
  8. Er... I can't access that file. You should make the download public or use a public sharing site if you want feedback on the track.
  9. He had a thread with it some time ago. Actually, I'm surprised that you didn't submit this track to OCR, Derek. I understand that you wanted to make a few changes to it, but since you now can't it's kind of a shame to leave it to be forgotten. It really is an awesome track, in it's own right. Also, excited to hear the newest Cantata! EDIT: I let your player just run through some tracks. Just saying that your FF8 arrangement was very well done, as well. I likes it. EDIT2: Also your FFVII arrangement. Fucking damn, man, I love your Cantata arrangement, but you're seriously holding out on us. This stuff is amazing.
  10. Yahoo news has these two articles side by side, atm... "Steve Jobs: The Last Great Tyrant" "Where to find jobs in the near future" Ha...
  11. The portamento and ghost synth are one and the same, yeah, I like him as it is. And yeah, it's the lower mid range I'm talking about (I normally speak in low, mid and high, so 'mid' covers an unfortunately large range). Mmm... well, large and dominant is one route to go. Complex and interesting is another route. The drums themselves just don't support the instruments you have, here - it sets a beat, but Filling the frequency space mentioned earlier would help. The harpsichord texture doesn't quite lend to filling the soundscape behind the melody and bass enough, to me, so another instrument, perhaps? It's hard to comment on it, since there's nothing technically wrong with what you have, here. It just sounds like it's not finished, to my ears, for some reason. Yeah, I understand - it's not a bad track by any stretch, don't get me wrong. I just wanted to give you feedback on it from an OCR point of view and list why I didn't think it would be worth it to submit, since you asked.
  12. For a live, spontaneous recording, I'd say the performance was pretty damn good. No, not perfect, but I wouldn't expect perfection from even the best live performances - this is about as good as a spontaneous performance gets. It's very soothing, and it really gets the chrono vibe well (no pun intended - I would've said the chrono 'MARIMBA' if I wanted to make a pun with that *SNORT*). Thanks for sharing - it was very soothing to listen to.
  13. Ooo, I was hoping to hear someone remix this song. Very nice. I wouldn't submit it in the state it's in, though - the synths and samples used are just too thin. The soundscape is incredibly hollow, and I don't think with the style you have going here that would be acceptable. You need some midrange instruments, and some thicker sounds (save for that 'ghost' synth - that'd lose all of it's flavor if you did anything to it ). The track is pretty conservative for OCR. There are some neat breakdowns and very natural improvisations, though, so I think the arrangement could be passable. It is pretty short, though. The drums are pretty weak. Not just the repetitive nature of them, the set itself doesn't have enough to really push the song forward. The snare is barely noticeable, and the bass just doesn't add any flavor to the track. The drums can really make or break a track, so set some stronger, more distinctive samples to use, here. Especially if you're going the 'untz untz' route, you need to have the bass break my balls, here, and this one just isn't cutting it. All that being said, I actually like the instrument combination (just need some more sound, overall), and that ghost instrument is pretty awesome. I just don't think it's ready for submission, as it stands.
  14. Woa, hey... Shit, I just heard about him resigning due to health reasons. That happened pretty damn quickly. Not an apple person today, but it's what I grew up on. R.I.P., my man.
  15. Man, I want that SNES cake. I mean, er, happy birthday, folks!
  16. Here, have a birthday.

    Keep making awesome shiznat.

  17. That should be more like on a dance pad... WITHOUT USING YOUR HANDS!!
  18. Well, 8:30 East Coast is like 4:30 for me. I'd be game - this Thursday, then? I wanna try this program and see if it's any good.
  19. It gets all dry and dusty, leaving your skin to dry out and break up when it stays in contact for too long. It's quite unpleasant, actually. Glad you liked it for what it was.
  20. ... Oh, what the hell. I was pumped to do a Concrete Man mix, myself, but completely lost all inspiration for it and dropped it a day after I started. May as well let you all see where it was going, anyway - chilled 12/8 groove of the track. Enjoy it for what it is - I'm not planning on finishing this song. I just don't feel it past what it is. Concrete Man, Unmixed (OHO! You see what I did there!?) Have fun with it
  21. Huh, that has some funny little cards in it. Then again, I haven't seen a card post M7, so... yeah, I suppose there will be some new things that I don't know about.
  22. Alright everyone, it's time for a new WIP date - Dec. 10th! There are plenty of tracks out there that sound pretty close to completion, so let's see if we can get some more blues out there with this date (and thanks to everyone that's submit a final wav already)! That's more than two months away, so let's see some progress on those WIPs!
  23. I think all games should include: Beat the game... ON A DANCE PAD!
