  1. Oh hell yeah. Super Metroid also pretty much wins out on everything before it.
  2. Alrighty, good to know. I'll certainly need to resend a mastered track to Dyne before this all goes live. Thanks, bLiNd
  3. Aren't you referring to my track, there?
  4. Huh, I thought it'd be a close call - JH's track was pretty good. Glad to get the support, though Alright, I'll get on finding a source, now
  5. Well I never said there was no emotion, just that it gave a completely different emotion from the original . One that I liked, btw.
  6. Admittedly, on the one hand you (and Munchi) are right - since the move to the sub forums it's been less accessible, and less access means fewer participants. On the other hand, though, while the compos are great and obviously videogame related, they are not the focus of this site. Please correct me if I'm wrong, mods, but I suspect that they moved the forums to their own place in order to clean up the home forum. They moved all sorts of things around so the more focal things would be easier to access (VG WIP forums, Remix requests, Community... offtop ) while the things that casual users are not looking for are put aside. This streamlines the forum experience (yay) but at the cost of less traffic in the compos + album project area (boo). The way to really fix this is, as mentioned in another thread (which I can't find right now ) is to pimp out the compos that you want people to really participate in. Personally, I do this by posting in OCR regularly and link the compos in my signature (that and the Lufia project - needs more people, btw!). I did it with the ORC for quite some time, and now am also giving the PRC some love, too. If you get even one participant that way you just might be saving a compo from extinction. You can also advertise it in places like Facebook and such, if you want people to join in on the fun. DjP certainly had a reason to rearrange the forums around here, so I don't think returning to the way it was is an option (not that it's what you were implying, but I figure I'd better head that off, anyway). Thanks for the compliment, btw - glad you liked the remix
  7. You don't get any messages on your visitor's board - you're going to have two birthday posts on the same page. It almost makes me feel guilty for posting it, actually - it almost emphasizes the emptiness of this wall.

    Happy Birthday :)

  8. The auto tuned voice takes this mix down a little bit (as ironic as that is), but I think using the original voice as a rhythm was an interesting idea. Not too bad. The whole 'Friday' phenomena is a bit overdone, but this isn't bad, really.
  9. Well here's a sample of reverb. No Reverb Reverb You'll notice that in the 'no reverb' sample it sounds very bare bones, while in the reverb sample it sounds like it's being played in a hall of sorts. There is nothing different from the samples except that I applied reverb to them with a plugin. Essentially, reverb is there to emulate the acoustics of an environment (in this case, an orchestral hall). It can be used for other effects, but 90% of the time when people ask for reverb they mean they want the sound of an acoustic hall added to the sound. I don't know what program you use, but if you want reverb normally you look for a plugin for it.
  10. This controversial classic tickled my funny bone, for sure...
  11. That's strange, 'cause they're cycling the page for me. Right clicking them doesn't work in my case
  12. Looking through this site last night and saw this in the announcements. At first I thought it was the MMX album (seeing that it was the only MM album announced) but upon closer inspection found it was something completely new and got really excited. Unfortunately I was too early and could only see that advertisement - there was nothing yet to listen to until after I went to sleep. Great way to torture me, guys . Alright, downloading now. It's Megaman, it'll be worth the wait,
  13. Other than one of the best remixes of all time? No idea - it really is a good source. (gotta pimp out Mutherpluckin' B when I can). Nice idea on this track, but it gets a little boring after it plays through once. Other than the instrumentation (which is really cool, by the way) there just doesn't seem to be anything that makes it stick that well. There's variety in the arrangement, and what arranging you have is neat, but it just feels too... sparse, overall. One of the big issues is the dry presentation. Get some reverb in here - it just sounds hollow and unrealistic without at least a little. The samples are alright, but I think a little more humanization would help this quite a bit (it sounds like you put the effort into it, but then copy pasta some parts when they repeated, making the sequencing more noticeable). It's a good idea, but it's not quite a postable OCR track, yet. Keep workin' at it, bro.
  14. Alright, got my source up. Nice round, all. Glad Hylian_Lemon and ChickenWarlord found the MM2 Wily in there. Can't do a Wily song without it, I say
  15. I don't hear the canon in there (probably because all the instruments start simultaneously - totally against canon for the... canon...) but the counterpoint in that track is quite fun. Very rich and well produced. It doesn't quite evoke the same feeling as the original did with that theme, but the feeling that this produces is equally enthralling. I like it
  16. Your range is roughly from Ab below Mid C to Eb an octave above. Oh yeah, I know your range .
  17. Sweetness, Archangel is up and running. I remember this track (as well as the Prelude track that was rejected... *sigh* shame it was too conservative) from back in the WIP forums. It was epic then, and it's epic now. I've seen all the things you're involved in, and I can't wait to hear all of it. Great work, man.
  18. Gario

Go sent Cage's "4:33" to the judges via box.net, call it a remix, then make a remix before they catch on. I've always wanted to see if it could work...

*Ahem* er, I mean Happy birthday :P

  19. Oh my, I nearly forgot about this one. Color me excited for it's release .
  20. SWEET LORD! Lemme correct that - it's incorrect! Sorry about that - it's high, but not THAT high... I mixed that number with another one, lol.
  21. Hey, look at that - the counter that determines how many people click the 'like' and 'dislike' button updates every 15 seconds. That means I can get a 'clicks per minute' statistic for each one. You know what any sensible person would do in this situation? Make up some pseudo-statistics! Observing for a minute, I found the rate of clicks was ~30 per minute for the like button and ~240 clicks per minute for the dislike button. There are some interesting implications from that information. If every person who clicked the 'dislike' button in a year held each other's hand they would be able to circle the planet five times (the people that liked the video, however, couldn't even circle it once... losers). If they were to make a human pyramid it would be over six miles high (the poor saps on the bottom would need to bear well almost 600 tons of bodyweight in order to keep it up, though), and the base of that pyrimid would be over 2 miles long. Some more interesting news - for every 100 people that clicks the 'dislike' button there is a child that is aborted. For every person that dies due to smoking, there's over 280 people that waste their life clicking the 'dislike' button. For every 5 people that click the 'dislike' button someone will be infected with HIV. For every 2 clicks on the 'dislike' button someone on the planet will die. Interesting (and pointless) information, isn't it?
