  1. I thought this thread was going to contend that fresh air and diverse experiences made people better appreciate games and forced them to be more disciplined with what little gaming time they had left.
  2. Posting to endorse GoG. I need to play this as well.
  3. Hey Arcana. Sign on again. Hm. Maybe another time. Happy birthday. Kinda sucks to be butted up against Christmas, though. Two biggest gift-giving days not even a week apart? Jesus, what was He thinking. Arcana is good people. Have a good birthday.
  4. Arcana, is it really your birthday? You aren't shown on the main page. This is some canuck ruse. I smell it.
  5. Happy birthday - hope it's a good one!
  6. I couldn't say a birthday response post made me cry... ...until now. That cheesecake is absolutely beautiful!!!
  7. Me? A source rundown is about all I'm good for, and you've no problem with the 50% thing. Interpretation, production, etc: not my bag. Only potential issue I can see sourcewise is that you intentionally pared it down to fit your mood/genre. I think this shouldn't be an issue, since what you missed were portions of the accompanying lines and some riffage (amidst nailing the essence of the melody, accompaniment, and bassline), but I'm also not a judge. Frankly, you're not doing yourself any favors by choosing a cover with so much going on. I think you need to cite the original. Of course, I'm only trying to look after you. Honestly though, I havne't a clue if that would be an issue. Just pointing it out so it can be addressed now rather than later, should it warrant addressing. This is staying on my playlist regardless.
  8. I really, really dislike this approach to a forum suggestion, but since this topic already exists, I suppose bumping is the right thing to do. djp: option two, s'il te plait. Option three would work as well, but from the sound of it that would be the most hassle to implement. Option one isn't terrible, but google searches are problematic (I want a result within site x, not outside it) or, at the very least, ugly. Speaking strictly from experience, of course; perhaps there are better ways to implement it than I've seen. And alpha navigation for sure. So, that's a number two and a number four. With poutine. And because I already had a post typed out and I don't want it to go unseen nyah. Like an idiot, I just searched for "starfox". A redirect or a probable-intended-search return function (proper terminology?), in this case to "star fox", might be a useful feature. That is, I think it's a fair assumption that newcomers weened on google might make a similar mistake and think ocr doesn't have any mixes of the game in question. It would also be convenient for idiots. No, I have no idea how hard this would be to implement (especially in the case of a smart search) or if it is even practical. It's simply a suggestion in a vacuum. Probably way down the to-do list, but I thought it worth mentioning.
  9. This brings a tear to the indian's eye. Been waiting for a remix of this since Kyle's request thread. I'm digging what you did with it; this is a keeper for sure. Mod review? Edit: I swear it didn't say mod review when I clicked the thread.
  10. Now I feel really, really dumb. Not going to explain. But hell yeah listening party.
  11. That's a damned good idea and I'm disappointed that none of us ever thought to do that. (going by urban dictionary definition number three)
  12. "future versions" This means what, exactly? Yes, I read the above, but apparently the facebook post says expansions included, yet RD says (in clarification) no expansion packs (or dlc). I'm inclinded to believe the author as well as The Author, and I'm also not much of a computer gamer due to restrictions (and thusly might be missing the obvious meaning to the terminology), so I don't know how to correctly interpret what has been said. I'm asking because I was intrigued enough by the videos I've seen to buy the game now - to be playable whenever I finally buy a new computer - but it would have to be because the "future versions" would be something I would want. IOW: five (ten now, actually) euros in savings isn't in itself a big deal, but this future versions thing sounds like it could save a buttload more in content I would want. Or, says the better (cynical) part of me, it's nothing more than scare tactics as the devs, for whatever reason, need funding now rather than later. But again, I really don't know how to interpret this, so any clarification would be appreciated.
  13. Sports is a solid album. The rest of their stuff... Nice find. Props, unknown vgm composer.
  14. Should have ended the thread. Used to think their first was decent enough, but then I listened to more remixes. Their first - and even their second - album wasn't bad, but they never lived up to the hype, and every track on their albums pales in comparison to at least one other mix. Not worth bunching the panties.

Ha, I know. The "learned ones" bit was in kind. Ever get back around to Lupin?

I edited that lengthy evangelion post the next day once I saw how silly and redundant it was, so point taken. But my real problem is, irrespective of area, I'm just generally late to the party. Forgive me, learned ones. Ha! You watch subs? Don't you care that you're getting a distorted presentation of the artist's original vision due to its conversion to film? Lern 2 telepath, n00b.

Now that we've covered that, let's move on, shall we?

An expose in how to not bump a thread. Brought to you by K.B. Still dying here without my second season dub of Haruhi Suzumiya. Moreover, still bewildered that Adult Swim hasn't bothered with the series at all. I even e-mailed them! What more could they want?!? PS: Death Note is the best ever for the first twelve episodes. Do stop there, though.
  19. Thread is now to lament how much more you spent than you should have.
  20. Indie Clever Pack for $5. --VVVVVV --World Of Goo --Eufloria --Iron Grip: Warlord --Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich Of Time. I'm only familiar with the first two, but that's a great deal for those two alone.

If you haven't seen the proper ending, go watch Death & Rebirth (minus Rebirth, as it is copypasted as the first part of EoE) and End of Evangelion. There are still plenty of unanswered questions, but it is far more satisfying than, well, you know. Death isn't necessary, as it's a recap of eps 1-24, but there are several new scenes that add to the story. I found it to be worthwhile. These people are stretching. First off, Rebirth is simply the first part of EoE; I watched them back-to-back and not a frame was changed as far as I could tell. Now, comparing EoE to the series, nothing in the original eps 25/26 necessitates an outcome in real life. It's all mental. It could be argued that Shinji made a different choice, but there isn't enough evidence to make that more than speculation. I read your bit about dragging. That's fair, as the series starts slowly. But I certainly wouldn't call it filler; it's measured, and upon conclusion everything fits into the psychological baggage each character carries and manifests. Watching the rebuild, I found myself relating far less to the characters than I did when watching the series. It's a different focus, and in hindsight I appreciate that the series spent as much time as it did on background. So, maybe you could trim out an episode or two's worth of it and not lose much, but I'd rather keep that little bit that would be lost and endure a slower pace, especially since it's only a one-season show. lol to Gainax getting anything done on time. v1, v1.01, then v1.11? Are you shitting me?

Rebuild is ehh. The dub is terrible, but more importantly it misses a significant amount of character-building. That's understood given that it's going to be just four movies from 26 episodes, but that doesn't negate the impact. The battles are far more kickass though, so, if you've seen the original series, it's a treat to see what Gainax can do with a budget. All the same, if I were to guide someone new to the series, I'd say stick the series, death (- rebirth), and end of evangelion over the rebuilds. Not sure what you mean by eva continuities though. Congratulations didn't seem at odds with end of evangelion. Am I missing something? Are you talking manga?
