  1. Short Answer: Holy Crap. That's awesome. Long Answer: Dang, this is so rocking. I wish I had found this one sooner; it also reminds me of some other song, which I can't think of. >.< The lyrics really have that bittersweet touch to it, and the vocal effects are so awesome. I really can't think of any criticism for it; it really feels flawless. Wow, this is just completely amazing.
  2. In regards to preexisting music videos I'm surprised no one at least mentioned yet.
  3. Nice description. It doesn't quite feel as chiptuney to me, but still it's quite awesome. I really like how everything is mellowly drawn out, really feels like some beach getaway music. Highly calming and eternal. Reminds me of, like, a very orange-red tropical beach sunset, the kind a person would watch while holding one of those drinks with a paper umbrella in it. In the end, it's really cool, and I totally recommend it.
  4. I really like the feel of this mix; it has a down low, streamlined, speedy, Mission Impossible techno beat to it. That plus the chip tune feel makes for an interesting listen to. I also like how this is highly melody driven, yet manages to pass it around, tinker with it, and keep it flowing differently. This is a really good mix; I totally recommend it.
  5. Cooooool... The techno here feels calming and smooth while being energizing. This strikes a weird balance between being interesting to listen to and, well, not; there's some stretches where it feels very monotonous. Other times it does have a very good groove going on, and those other times feel like a rest. In the end, I have to admit that I do like it, but imo its about a minute too long.
  6. I can agree with and respect going for the Celtic vibe, and as such, it does it's job very well. This is really well done, and I can imagine this being played at some Renaissance fair actually. It's a really interesting listen; dynamics, tempo, and instrumentation change frequently. Also there is a lot of ethic flair that I don't hear daily contributing to the uniqueness to this mix. All in all, this is a very well done mix.
  7. Hahaha Oh Snap! This is amazing. It has this chippiness to it that I haven't heard since Pokemon Gold & Silver. I imagine the dance moves to this would be a cross between the Macarena and the Chicken Dance. It's chocobo, it's fun, it's get down and shake it on the dance floor. One just can't listen to this and not smile.
  8. Sorry for the double post, but I'm proud to say that all of the remixes that haven't been reviewed since 07 have now been reviewed. I'm also now at 79 reviews and have beaten my record from last December. Woo!
  9. 0.o Whaaaaaaaaaaaa..... I know the film trailer I'm thinking of was produced by IGN as an April Fool's Day prank... So.. I take it this was done in a similar fashion as MGS: Philanthropy?
  10. Whenever I think Jenova, I think of this. Especially during the intro, I see stars exploding whenever I listen to this. If someone took the most romanticized version of stars and outer space and distilled it into a song, this would be very, very close to that. This is definitely one of my favorite Final Fantasy 7 mixes, and I highly recommend it.
  11. My mind explodeded. Again. I love this song so freaking much. It's Asian ethnic, it's techno, it's Arctic, it's amaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. Whenever I listen to this I just want to dance and groove along to it. It really feels like this came straight from the Himalayas or something like that. This is so singularly unique and astounding that you're really not going to find anything else like it and should be in your music collection right now.
  12. Wow this is a sloooow long build-up; the fact that this is like part one of five makes it at least understandable and shows how much forethought is in here. This is beautifully orchestrated and highly subtle; not a whole lot of things are going on here too quickly meaning the listener has to pay close attention. In the end, I like it, very Hans Zimmer-ish. Completely agreed.
  13. This reminds me of Knuckle's asteroid stage theme in Sonic Adventure 2. I really like those twinkling star bit notes in the back ground. The more I listen to this, the more I like it. There's a lot going on here, changes in speed, style, dynamics, etc. but also everything feels layered, which is interesting. Ultimately it doesn't do anything to drastic or explosively, but I like it, it feels mellow and very purposeful.
  14. I can't... stop giggling... at scatological humor.... Putting that aside, this mix just feels oh so right. It's totally got that radical 80's synth going on here and got a good flow going on here. The vocal samples really add personal touches to the mix. Ultimately though, it doesn't really make that much of an impression on me, but I still recommend checking it out.
  15. This has an interesting piecemeal texture to it. Laughing woman, dancing synths, then pulsing techno. While this makes it interesting to listen to, it's still repetitive. I suppose this has a lot to do with the style this was arranged as, but ultimately it doesn't do much for me.
  16. Now this is cute. It has a nicely nostalgic flair to it, not the sappy over the top kind but the kind that would make its listeners take one of those larger than normal sighs and exhale it with a big smile and a faraway look in their eyes. You know what I mean. It's pretty good, very nice, smooth and soothing, but all in all, I don't really care for it.
  17. Oh wow. Now this is smooth. I really like this because it changes things up a lot without disturbing a delicate balance of energy and tension; it does a whole dang lot within finite boundaries. For that I find it very impressive. It reminds me a lot of music from spy flicks like Mission Impossible and The Italian Job. This comes pretty highly recommended.
  18. This has a controlled chaos feel to it, like a very schizophrenic alarm set to music. Also the sounds here seem out of place. Its the same feeling as watching an orchestra trying to cover a metal song, except its something else trying to do techno. Everything feels dulled and smoothed over which feels really unique and atypical for the industrial-techno going on. While it's not exactly one of my favorites, I still like it pretty good.
  19. I've recently started replaying Super Mario Galaxy recently so the source is at least semi-fresh in my mind, and I have to admit I like this better than the source. While it has the same mood as the original, it does liven it up some. It's still calming and evocative of space as ever, and its quite an interesting listen. While it does have a habit of causing the listener to place it at a lower mental awareness, there's a lot of variation of the sound scape here, plenty of changes in dynamics and speed. The ending is a little wimpy though, just quickly fading out with no resolution... All in all, I like it and totally recommend it.
  20. Oh yeah, this is groovin' & jammin' Whenever I hear this I get déjà vu; I can't shake the feeling I've heard this before.... This is only the latest in an ever growing list of mixes I'd love to see performed live. It really has a larger than life feel to it and just loud proud good time music. Its constantly flowing, moving, grooving, covering new territory, and keeping the listener on their toes. This is so going to my jazz playlist.
  21. Hoo-yeah! I love this mix so freaking much; its pretty much flawless. There really needs to be more classic rock inspired remixes out there. After listening to this, I know realize now that this is one of those things that deep down I've always secretly wanted, but I never knew exactly what it was until now. This would be sheer mind blowing to see this performed live. This mix comes so highly recommended; it really should belong in everyone's collection.
  22. Wow... That intro really stings the ears there.. It feels like it was composed of different tones of white noise to me. >.< Meh... All in all this is waaaaaaayyy too grating on my ears for me to like. Still, the arrangement of the source is very nice, distinctive, and unique, but this just isn't the mix for me.
  23. Melodic metal..... It's as if someone took a music box and then wrote the metal accompaniment. I completely agree with previous sentiments about everything here meshing extremely well together. There's really a LOT going on here, each at different speeds, and doing their thing, which makes for a fun listen. I have to admit that I didn't really care for this the first time I listened, but this is definitely one of those tracks that grows on you.
  24. Hmmmm..... I don't think the vocal samples are used to full effect here; they should have either been better placed or not used at all. I mean how it currently is isn't terrible, but they aren't being used to maximum effect. I have to admit I'm curious too. At first I was pretty iffy on this mix, but the more I listen to this the more I like it. It's peppy, catchy, and highly smooth. Definitely recommended.
