Isn't there a third option here? Couldn't it be fake, but sent by someone else? Given that Zeality probably made enough enemies through his attitude & behavior, it seems plausible that the letter could be from a third party... let's say they used legit phone numbers, too - if they actually called Square to see if it was legit, it might end up "becoming" real since they probably wouldn't give the project a green light if contacted directly... just a thought.

Really looking forward to a finished submission, should be something awesome, unique & hella memorable.

What's REALLY sad here is that, given 13 years, a dedicated fan effort could easily have produced something playable & commercially viable by now, that could have been marketed with compensation to those involved. We could have done the music. It could have been beautiful.

Yes, but when discussing how much attention something is going to get, we'd mostly be talking about folks who otherwise wouldn't visit a given area of the site, not folks who know about it, will find it either way, and don't even visit the homepage... right?

Seriously? That's all it takes? I mean, yeah, it's a big change, but you're saying you can't look at it for, let's say two minutes, do some analysis, and piece it together? It's that opaque?

Larry's talking about one thing, Dafydd's talking about something else. Larry's talking about the homepage/email icons that would show up next to remixer names on the list of latest mixes on the homepage. Dafydd I believe is talking about the homepage icon on each user's post header in the forums, if they have one. The former is definitely not coming back, the latter I'm still considering but leaning towards. It looks good to me as well but we can still consider moving things around a bit more today.

I'm sure some folks won't, for whatever reasons, but my intention is to highlight WIP / unposted mixes more and also just organize things better. I intend to integrate the skills/collaboration workshop info with artist profiles soon, as well.

I've been wanting to reorganize things for awhile now; the "ReMixing" forum is a resource not only for remixing, but music making in general, the WIP forums were awkwardly named because they also included "releases", etc. I talked with folks online today and thought about it quite a bit, and while certain things are still in flux, I like "workshop" as a term for both education & collaboration.

Moving to Help & Newbies since it's not related directly to OCR.

I haven't ready any self-help books, and actually used to make fun of my Dad for doing so. Kudos to being candid about it; admitting you read Anthony Robbins on the Internet is almost like wearing a huge American flag T-shirt while traveling in the Middle East. I'm still skeptical, and the whole stand-up comedian line of "if you've got enough motivation to read a self-help book, you don't need any help" etc. comes to mind, but for me it's like religion: if you're getting something good out of it, with no short or long-term negative side effects, can't be too awful a thing. I find most of my motivation through other people's ideas - music, movies, mixes, books, etc. - and that to me is more effective, but I sometimes find motivational speakers strangely persuasive. I *want* to be snarky (and am), but there's also a degree of "this may in fact be bullshit, but if it even gets me *thinking* about things in a different way, regardless of how huge Anthony Robbins' chin is, it could still be worth something"...

'The Red Wheelbarrow' doesn't expect you to fill in any gaps. It's literally about a red wheelbarrow, glazed in rain water, beside some white chickens. Apologies if you had a college or (hopefully) high school teacher who taught you differently. Whether it's good or not is obviously subjective, but since most of the Internet favors poetry that leans towards emo angst, I'm gonna go ahead and call it a masterpiece like the rest of academia.

Ironically, "Limp Creed" would be a better band name by far than either actual name.

One for each is fine, just has to be the RIGHT one... maybe do some prototype sketches, I'll pick one for each tan, we'll go from there? Whatever works...

Just thought I'd mention that I'm not opposed to the notion of including the OCR-tans as mascots, and having the mascot project team wiki up some bios to boot. Seems like it'd be fun. Binjovi, seems like you're the man for the job, unless you're not down. I'm thinking in a style similar to your sig, but not stylized/pastel. Needs to work at the smaller res mascots are at, and would need to be full body poses and not truncated/cutoff... Or not? Just an idea...
