  1. Awesomeness! You'll definitely be hearing back from me about this one bro. ;)

  2. This comes of as a bit sarcastic, considering the amount of legendary games (and soundtracks) on that console.
  3. This got me pumped. From the killer breakbeats to the lighthearted piano/synth lines and subtle glitching. Sweet and inspiring take on this short source. Still got to catch up on that awesome FFDQ concept album or yours. Thanks for sharing this one Ruku, and keep dem beats coming.
  4. Well I, for one, did and can affirm that the doujin scene got FFT, FFTA and FFTA2 pretty much covered. While people here were taking a peaceful nap, Music Fantasy Tactics has been happening for years. All I can say is, if you're looking for awesome Final Fantasy Tactics remixes, look no further than MFT.
  5. Well, I did my best to provide feedback for everyone, so let's hope this hasn't happened to others as well. If so please let me know asap guys. I believe the eval team is a different one from the judge panel, but the idea remains the same. Obviously I can't tell you in advance what they will want, but since albums have to be tailored specifically for OCR, the staff is bound to request additional changes. So this is addressed to you as well as to everyone else on the project: be ready for the eventuality of having to make further tweaks past the feedback we gave you.
  6. Don't worry Pete, you've made the last deadline and that's what matters. I'm not the kind of person to harass folks every five minutes for new wips. So long as people remain punctual and/or let us know in advance where they stand, it's fine with me. And you just did, so everything is cool man. Yo Alex, dunno if DusK ever got back to you with his crits, but I sent you my feedback on your latest wip a while back. Did you miss it or need me to resend it?Aside from what I mentioned in the PMs, any further changes will depend on how the evaluation goes when we submit the project to OCR in a few weeks. Rest assured that I will let you (and everyone else) know when we're at that point. Lucky you! Awesome, I can't wait to hear the result. Keep us in the loop Callum. Roger that. Make sure to check back directly with DusK, since he's your handler in this case. Please consider doing that kind of things via PM in the future, sir. Thanks.
  7. Nathan "RAD" Spencer from Bionic Commando. 2 games (NES and GB) and 4 remixes total.
  8. Seriously? Wow, kudos Kevin, that's quite a feat. You should make a new 'PRC commercial' to celebrate the achievement.
  9. Well, as I said, it's mostly custom samples being processed with FX plugs. Only times I use VSTi for drums is when transcribing a source to lay a temp drumline (with tools like 'DSK mini-drum Z'), or when composing cinematic/ethnic music (with EWQL Colossus).

Luckily for you, OCR is packed with talented electronica producers that are WAY better at this game that I'll ever be. Head over to the workshop/production section of the forums and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for in no time. Good luck. :)

  10. Oh yeah! Just finished it and that game was a blast. It's from Klei Entertainment, the makers of Shank, so mind-blowing artwork & animation was to be expected. Though their take on stealth is a keeper for sure. The game offers much more than it seems at first glance, with gameplay possibilities opening up drastically after completing a few stages and acquiring seals. Most features are extremely well implemented and this is a case where game design serves the fun rather than arbitrarily constricting the player. Story is standard fare overall, but there are a few twists that keeps it interesting, and even a few daring surprises near the end to spice things up. The clever level design brings plenty of variety, yet the addition of challenge rooms made for an even more engaging experience imo. Sound design was also excellent, with immersive ambient songs and cues to reel you in and keep you focused on the action at all times. Imagine a cross-over between Ninja Gaiden and Metal Gear, with a retro sidescrolling vibe turned up to eleven in terms of quality. Highly recommended.
  11. Isn't there a policy on OCR that states remix projects need to show progress to maintain approval? The last update was over a YEAR ago. Been pushing for this project to get completed for ages, but Juan went awol and Will is proly too busy with his career to give a shit anymore. How about letting someone who cares about Junko Tamiya's work carry though and get this album finished? We can't let all this go to waste.
  12. @DrumJ8 and Main Finger: finally sent you some feedback. Sorry again for the delay guys. Oh, hai, welcome back "Mr Director".
  13. Posted in the KNGI chat but not sure you've read it. I'll be dropping Hero of the Wind. Best of luck with this project going forward.
  14. (from Rockman Exe Transmission)Such great music, yet this game & soundtrack remain hugely underrated to this day.
  15. Get excite! 'Rockman Exe Transmission' for the GC is finally getting a proper (and long overdue) soundtrack release. One of the best and most underrated Rockman soundtracks, by VGM legends Shinji Hosoe and Ayako Saso.
  16. Oh, man. Yet another thing I'd really love to take part in right now, but simply can't. Thanks for giving PE additional (and well deserved) love in the PRC. You guys rock.
  17. A combo of custom-made samples with lots of layering and processing.

Was there a specific track of mine you had in mind when asking this?

  18. Cuz life is being a bitch right now.

  19. Got some stuff to deal with, don't worry Guilherme.

Thanks for the concern though. :)

  20. I'll be dropping 'Door to the Journey'. Best of luck to Wes and Greg with this project.
  21. I'll be dropping my 'Metal Gear Ghost Babel' medley. Best of luck to Gerry and Will with this tribute album.
