  1. You can try Proboards. Their forums are relatively robust and afaik also free. Hylian Lemon has been organizing both his LoZ Oracle projects there. It'll fit the bill while you wait for an answer to your project proposal.
  2. Looks like I've got a couple episodes to catch up on. Thanks for keeping the thread updated as always Coop.
  3. To clarify, I meant overkill as in: there are already two FFVI albums in the work simultaneously at OCR. Plus, the absence of Locke remixes in this context may also indicate a genuine lack of interest in the theme. Not a certainty, but something to take into consideration nonetheless.
  4. Poppin' Lockin' Treasure Huntin'. Srsly though, a dedicated project might be overkill, but there could be an audition/contest held for the track itself. Up to Zircon and McVaffe though.
  5. Guys, I'm just gonna say that for your own sake, but you're not actually supposed to organize your project in the R&C forums. Just recruit. Things like posting wips and critiques, discussing project details in-depth, and all that stuff belong in a private space until your project has been approved. When that happen, you'll be granted your own subforums in the official Project section, where you'll be able to organize things at your leisure. Not even counting the amount of double/triple posting going on in the thread, if you keep going you'll incur the risk of getting locked by a moderator. So please be mindful of the rules and good luck with your project.
  6. Face is melting from the anticipation, slowly but surely.
  7. Ahah, wow. Guess they're going to love the delicious Turtle Soup you're cooking for them, Kyle.
  8. Nah, don't sweat it. Got your track and sent you some feedback. As stated in the OP, if you wanna re-claim a source, just send us a wip.
  9. More like Nicolas Cage for Doohan 2012. He's way too old/hairless to play Spike. ;D Also, I just found out about this and am inevitably making the sad panda face. Reeves doesn't have enough style/personality/expressiveness to play Spike. The prospect of seeing my fav anime turn into a piss-poor live action is appalling. Guess we better get ready to see Faye Valentine being played by Lady Gaga. So much for the childhood memories... Let's hope they won't butcher Yoko Kanno's score ...ah, who am I kidding.
  10. Back when this started, I recommended Shinny focus on one game at a time, and see how it would go from there. Now with claims on both, the best advice I could give would be to narrow it down to 10 or so tracks per game. Keeping the claims you have and going for a total of 20 or more tracks, limiting the content to a single disc. Unless you're a veteran and can rally the whole community, a multi-disc project simply isn't realistic. Even more so when tackling a more obscure title with limited following such as Breath of Fire. Then again, if you've got a lot of time, patience and motivation, you could still give it a shot. My 2 cents.
  11. There's a Chrono Cross album in the works at OCR (though it is private). So this track might see some coverage once the project comes to fruition.
  12. ...and mark it as official project since it has since been approved. Seems like the OP is in dire need of updates. Stevo to the rescue!
  13. Got it and sent you some feedback. Thanks Jesse. For those who missed their deadline yesterday and got a PM, please let us know your status asap. Otherwise we'll be forced to let Golden Silver rip you to pieces ...er, I mean remove you from the tracklist. ;D
  14. Mixing a sinister, organ-driven arrangement with bright choirs would make for a very interesting, yet contrasting piece. Definitely something to explore in the next update.
  15. Already said it, but one extra wish doesn't hurt. Happy birthday man.
  16. Now I can't get the image of Stevo's beard getting mauled by Jooj Cat out of my head... As far as I know, Deia is kind, courteous and doesn't afraid of anything.
  17. Happy birthday mang! Have a good one.

  18. YES! Love this game. More Demon's Crest remixes please! So I assume this is just the intro to the arrangement for now, so there isn't much substance to analyze so far, unfortunately. However, if you decide to keep the feel of the game with the organs, I'd advise trying to make this sound less angelic and more ominous. You could buff up the soundscape with more sinister-sounding pads, and introduce some percussive elements of the orchestral kind. Overall, I'd recommend making things slightly more dramatic from the get go, as in bringing life and motion to the arrangement. As it stands, the piece is relatively still, and while the original is too in some respect, this could prove to be detrimental later on. Good luck with this one Alex.
  19. Welcome to Gario, Malcos and also The Coop, who will be helping with the album artwork. The 3 weeks period after the initial claim is coming to an end this Sunday for a few people. A reminder PM has been sent to those concerned. If you haven't already, please get in touch and let us know your status. Again, this only applies to 3 weeks old claims, which haven't yet been solidified by a short wip. As DusK mentioned in his last post, be sure to bring the energy. And don't forget to have fun with your arrangement.
  20. This one's been a long time coming. Congrats on achieving one of your personal goals Dustin. Luv how you've warped your way around both sources to create just the right alchemy between familiarity, novelty and excitement. You've brought the usual energy so characteristic of your music, while carrying some metalcore across the panel for everyone to enjoy. The Broken Front manages to strike the nostalgia bone while retrospectively offering something more thrilling than the actual game content. ;P This interpretation is true to Kyd's early works and a fitting tribute to music from a game system that needs much, much more love around here.
  21. If it ever comes out, I think FFversusXIII is the best candidate to do exactly that. Similar modern setting with cities, automobiles and stuff mixed with fantasy. All SE needs to do, is turn all that gorgeous vaporware CG cutscenes into a real game. But there is definitely potential for an interesting universe/story.
  22. Ahah, true. With the exception of in-house composers (Hamauzu, Yamazaki, Suzuki) still making soundtracks worth listening to. Yeah, judging from the comments there you might be right about this. Then again, never doubt SE's ability to pull off gravity-defying stunts. ;P
  23. Thanks Trism. Glad to hear you've got some enjoyment out of it. :)

  24. Yeah, you're absolutely right. And I've enjoyed many Ivalice Alliance games (mostly due to Sakimoto's scores). But here is the funny thing: Vagrant Story wasn't supposed to be set in Ivalice. Also, SE had another open world fantasy game in the works: Fortress. Another (not so) funny story.
  25. Gotta admit I choked a bit when this one popped up in the RSS feed. ;D Mad props to Stevo for giving me the opportunity to be a part of Lucid Dreaming. Apologies to Andrew and Deia for wasting their valuable time with my low self-esteem. Huge thanks to Larry for the eye-opening reality check. *bows respectfully* Lasty, reading djpretzel's kind words gave meaning to this 3+ years musical adventure. Maybe (just maybe), I wasn't only making worthless crappy music all this time. @Guifrog: This humbles me to say the least. I'm nowhere near as good as you make it sound. But if this little song inspired you to delve further into world music, then I couldn't be happier. We should collab someday. For anyone interested, I made a music video for the arrangement a while back: http://vimeo.com/26786498 The positive response to the mix gives me strength to overcome my disability and keep on improving.
