  1. While the first half of the ReMix really poured some sweet Asian instrumentation my way, which I'm almost always a fan of, hearing the rest of the ReMix pick up some electronic dubawubs and give it an extra kick was pretty cool was well. Normally I don't have an issue with fade endings, but I'm with Brandon on this one. It seemed like there was still too much energy and wubbing going on for a fade. A little slow-down or breaking it down to the basic beats before that would have been ace, I think. That aside, after listening to this a few times, I can safely say that this is definitely something I want. Damn good debut, man!
  2. Happy actual birthday, Meteo! Have a sweet one!
  3. When MusicHunter brought this up and I saw it, I had it on repeat for a good while. This is a great ReMix for Bubble Bobble, and it's nice to hear a more poppy style of arrangement for this song, since it's often made to be super upbeat and sugary, aside from the "twins" that DJP mentioned. There's probably several things that folks can like or not like about this ReMix depending on your taste since there is a lot going on, vocally and musically, but it's definitely worth the listening experience for the imagery, game-specific lyrics, the actual music itself and of course the video that goes with it. Not my favorite take on Bubble Bobble, but it's insanely close and I can really respect this ReMix. Totally downloading.
  4. Wow, this is a sweet find! Looks like a successful music hunt you've brought us.
  5. Oh hell yeah! This is great in terms of aggressiveness and bringing that high energy impact that make these sources pop together. Very nice work, Norg.
  6. The raw, live feeling of this ReMix is actually nice to hear. And I'm definitely enjoying the context of the lyrics along with the sources used. A tip of the hat to the female/male vocal duet, especially starting at 3:05, cause that was gold. While I could go into the things that I wasn't so crazy about, like the ending just being just a stop, there's really nothing to complain about that would deal break this mix to me. I'd love to hear more from these fellas.
  7. This just screams "go, go, go!" type of action that does not want to stop for even a second. That solo was great and hits a sweet spot with me. With this type of energetic arrangement, the speed kinda makes it feel even shorter than it really is though. Wish the ReMix was a little longer, especially for the pace it was going in, but for what was here, I liked it. Good pick-up and get going ReMix
  8. Dubstep chiptune ReMix. That alone is a fascinating choice for an arrangement. Luckily halc is the type of artist who can pull it off in a classy way. Terrific ReMix of Terra and Awakening in a very interesting style that I would mind hearing more of. Also, that section between 2:45-3:00, damn fine bit work, man!
  9. That intro set the stage for the rest of the ReMix very well. Picking it up at that the yell was a good mark to it, and this really does come off as a cinematic ending, although I see it more as a game ending than a movie score. Either way, it fits that tone of summing things up. Good debut ReMix with this one.
  10. An upbeat ReMix like this is completely welcomed on those "blah" days. It's got the right about of cheer without going overboard and enough of a good beat to lift your own energy and spirits to get you going. Also digging the clever title.
  11. So much happiness and joy contained in one little mix. I swear most of these Kirby mixes are like candy full of sugar, and I'm okay with that. Nice glitching effects and sweet arrangement overall.
  12. This has a pretty hot beat, that's for sure. Some of the background breaks and variations reminds me of the style SF3 had, specifically at 2:11-2:21. Definitely a classic mix.
  13. Well, I'm on the upper end of PA. Still cold as hell here though.........
  14. As someone who can really get behind mallets, marimbas and such, I actually liked the intro. It was a nice lead into the rest of the ReMix, kinda like taking an acoustic guitar and using that to lead into a heavier form of rock, if you know what I mean. The flute added a hell of a lot of character and I'm enjoying the overall production quality. Even being over three minutes, it left me wanting more in a good way. Awesome ReMix, man.
  15. Very clever to use the mix title and the ReMix itself to make things come full circle from Joe Satriani's own references. Still, pretty good ReMix with a nice chunk of classic rock vibe. So glad to hear some of the Follin bros' work get some love in this style.
  16. Happy belated Birthday! Let us raise up our McRibs in celebration!
  17. Oh damn, business just picked up! This looks like it's going to be amazing!
  18. A ReMix of a remix of the water theme, I knew this one would be interesting to hear considering the source. It amazes me that there is always a new way to get this melody into a song without it getting boring. Arrangement is like going from a riverbank right into the ocean, so nice placement. Got to love all those synths and blips complementing the guitar. Great teamwork and collab by Stevo and halc.
  19. That bass......wow, man, that's terrific. Now this is a perfect landscape done in audio form. Beautiful stuff, especially if you lay back and just try to visualize something in your mind while it plays. Awesome ReMix.
  20. Okay, first off, those movie lines fit so damn well in context of this dark, creepy ReMix. The heavy distortion and how receptive you are when it comes to SFX and dialog definitely makes a difference on whether you love or hate this. Seems like a perfect ReMix to use in finding out what spectrum you're on. Personally, I like SFX when used right (like here), and I don't know enough about Magus' theme to comment on that, but the distortion creates a great dark atmosphere to me. Not my favorite thing from the artists, but it's still pretty good.
  21. I love how smooth jazz makes some people think of the weather channel. Not that I'm disagreeing, cause that's what I think of when I hear songs in this style, but that's just funny to me. This ReMix is so incredibly smooth, certainly fitting of the name "crystal potion". Love that violin solo, and man, this ReMix makes me crave some warmer weather more than ever so I can chill out to this outside.
  22. Ole! Haha, bulls and beers, how appropriate of a title for this ReMix. Can't get enough of those castanets! Electronic mixed with matador-esque Spanish sound, now that's unique and fun as hell to listen to. Recommended for sure and sounds like a home run from Guifrog if I've ever heard one.
  23. I don't have a problem with the loudness of it all, but it wouldn't hurt to have more punch than noise, even in metal, but that's just me. Even still, this has plenty of punch and it's great to see Superstar Ultra get some love with this heavy as hell ReMix. Enjoyed the break in the middle as it goes into the more deliberate drives. Not bad at all on your debut.
  24. Okay, first off, love those laughs you added in, cause that sealed it for me on this Shadow Queen mix. Pretty cool that you were able to also use parts of Otherworld to add to the overall metal attack of the song. Echoing DJP, I'd love to know what the voices are saying, but all in all, awesome debut mixpost.
  25. Yeah, my favorite ReMix from Cyril yet and one of my favorite tracks from Maverick Rising as well! Before the album came out, I always thought the boss themes in MMX3 would be a bit tough to ReMix because of how repetitive they were to begin with, so I always thought if anyone did it, they would be used just as quick transitions or cameos. It's cool to see Cyril and Snell use them all to create a tense metal mix that really lays on the battle vibe, which I love in boss ReMixes. Production issues that others have pointed out aside, this ReMix sounds pretty sick and it's great to hear the MMX3 boss theme wrapped up together in a nice heavy package.
