  1. Man, this is fun to listen to. Pretty cool to here that guitar come in over top of the background low-fi sounding arrangement. Not much really to say beyond that except that this pretty sweet and between the guitar, the drums, and everything else, this ReMix pulled a lot together for a great song.
  2. Okay, so a beefed up, harder-edged Song of Prayer is my kind of ReMix. Song of Prayer was a beautiful source and to give it an extra bit of rock and energy while adding in the original voices is awesome to me. I would have loved for this to have been playing during the Sin battle on the ship, considering that the whole Spira world was supposed to be singing at that point in the story. Nice ReMix, gents.
  3. Mmmm, well, I can't say this holds up quite that well compared to other older ReMixes I've heard, but it's not like it's horrible or anything like that. I probably would have loved this ten years ago, but right now, at least the transistions are done in a way that shows that this had work put into it, and I can respect that. Not a terrible ReMix at all, but not a favorite.
  4. Dude, this freaking rocks hard. From that intro, which comes back later on, to the powerful aggressive guitars that glide along the sweet tempo you set for it and the switching of instruments (especially those woodwinds and the piano), man, this is definitely my favorite ReMix from you yet. So recommended.
  5. Awesome. As much as I like Elecman and his stage theme, I always thought it was a little too happy for a dual between MM and an electric stage, so this is what I would have liked to have heard over the original. Same great melody and extension with Plug Man, but more serious, energetic and fitting. Fine job, Neblix, lots of props on this.
  6. I actually don't mind the autotune, since it's not overused like it could be. I think Flexstyle did his vocals in a tasteful way like DJP said, and he and Jason Covenant made a great mix out of these two sources. It's great to hear Cossack get another ReMix, as it seems to be one of the lesser used Castles. Interesting that only half of this ReMix has vocals and the rest from then on is pretty much the instrumentation, but it gives it a bit of a "this ReMix takes off like a plane NOW" kind of arrangement, and I can get behind that type of uniqueness. Great Megaman ReMix, guys.
  7. That industrial clanking intro is hot, Chimpazilla. Very cool for the start of this atmospheric piece. Certainly wouldn't call it spooky, but it does have a more light-hearted darkness about it. Whimsically dark, maybe? Anyway, the build up is near perfect and this hits with all it's force when it needed to. So, cool arrangement and great first solo-mixpost!
  8. Happy birthday man! Have a good one!
  9. Gorgeous ReMix this one is. The violin, piano and vocal usage here is beautiful and brings out a lot of emotion. A little short, but for a song like this, that might be more of a positive than anything because it makes its point and stops strong. Very cool.
  10. Dated, mechanical....sure this has a lot of issues that plenty of early, early ReMixes suffer from, but at times like this, it's the arrangement and what the ReMix was going for that shows whether it's a classic or a ReMix that just hasn't held up to me. Orkybash has a tendency to straddle that line for me a lot, usually to the positive, but as a guy who loves FFX's music and some of the ideas shown here, there is nothing about this ReMix that would keep me from listening to it again.
  11. Honestly, I've always liked "Indestructible" more than other people seem to. That little add-in of it does make this sound more like a seasoned Guile from SFIV rather than SF2, and of course Guile's theme has been getting some great ReMixes, with Neblix adding another one. Yes, as the judges pointed out, there may be a few things here and there to pick at, but all in all, this is a terrific addition to the Apex album and shows Neblix's talents well. Sweet stuff, man.
  12. So, I have to say that I'm really loving the arrangement style of electronica with rock interwoven in it. That's something I've love to hear a lot more of, because it just seems to take electronic tracks and give them that kick that I can get behind. Even if it's similar the other way around, it just seems different enough to make this stand out. Either way, it's great to hear a lot of Tekken themes get some love in a way that is entertaining and quality. Well done, Ivan, great ReMix.
  13. Oh man, I was not expecting anything like this from a Mario Paint ReMix. So many awesome ideas come out of the synths, especially around the first minute and the many switch-ups made this sound like serious business. Really, if there was anything that could have been close to a boss battle in which you have to use painting and Mario (like Kirby and yarn, I guess), this would fit. Surprising and full of energy, very nice, guys!
  14. My favorite part of this massive three part extravaganza of hip-hop/rap talent. Anything that can be said about any section holds true for this one as well. The character raps were clever, and some of the rappers sounded close or at the very least nailed the general feeling of who they were trying to be. I'm especially digging The Auracle's bit as Snake/DMX. Everyone in OverClocked Assembled as something to be proud of with this awesome 20+ minute work of art. Nice work, guys and girls.
  15. So part 2 is much like part 1 in that the rapping was tight and the arrangement was smart and fun as hell, but as a matter of preference because of the characters/rappers in this part, I just wasn't feeling this part as much as the other two, but again, that's just me liking the other 18 minutes of the whole product better, so it's not a negative thing at all.
  16. Okay, so I totally love the idea of this long epic hip-hop rap 3 part ReMix with all the ReMixer's taking on the personas of both different game characters and famous rappers. Most were either almost spot on or close enough for a thumbs up. Nice first part.
  17. Wonderfully upbeat and great on production value. It's always nice to hear a fresh take on a well-ReMixed source. Nice work, man.
  18. Happy birthday, you XPRT you!
  19. This is an example of a ReMixer taking a song and pulling a water into wine trick. For a soundtrack that not a lot of people like or know, you created a fine piece. Solid track.
  20. This is exactly what I would have loved Dirty Mix to be. It took the same idea and refined it completely. I'm not knocking Dirty Mix, because I still like that ReMix, but as chaotic/jet set arrangements go, I'm more on board with this. And thank goodness you used a Bruce Lee clip that wasn't "Be like water".
