  1. The prelude theme is one of those sources that amaze me with all the different ways ReMixers have found to ReMix and rearrange it without getting stale and finding a new way to present it. BONKERS adds to the list with this pretty cool metal take on it that not only rearranges it, but does it for over six minutes, which can't be that easy to do with this theme, I'd guess, and I have to say that the breakdown in the middle fits so well with the rest of the ReMix. Just when you think you've beaten this source to death, someone picks it up and takes it further. Nicely done, BONKERS.
  2. Congrats DJP and the rest of the Pretzel Clan! Best wishes to your family on this joyous occasion!
  3. Wonderful chiptune ReMix. Sounds like classic Ben Briggs style and while it took it's sweet time to come out in full swing from the intro, the wait was worth it for this cool take on the Town. Pretty good job on this.
  4. Lots of dynamic, glitchy, low-fi effects going on here, but it comes together fairly well. Both sources were used to great effect and overall, it plays out like a great compo piece should. Nice work, Gario.
  5. This is unbelievably catchy and I really liked the lightheartedness of it, even if it does have a nice change with the "Gimme F" parts. The banter in between the singing almost reminds me of RvB style jokes and the melody just stays with you. Yeah, catchy and fun and totally recommended for those with a sense of humor.
  6. To hear someone try to change things up while ReMixing One Winged Angel is such a breath of fresh air. Not that I have anything against mixes that stick closer to the original structure, but it's just neat to hear something a little different from time to time. Probably not my favorite take on either theme, but it was a damn good go at using them both together and a ReMix I can certainly enjoy and appreciate. Not bad, man.
  7. Ooooh, man, so smooth! Wonderful R&B arrangement of one of my favorite sources from Xenogears. I feel like this ReMix has enough emotion to almost have a soul of it's own, if you get my drift. Just good feelings from this all around.
  8. Okay, really liking the idea of using the SFX in the quieter sections to make it like one of those "dramatic story" tracks from an official arranged album. Nice electronica arrangement sprinkled with good variation. Nice work with your original debut mixpost.
  9. Ecco certainly seems to lend itself to surprisingly dark or action filled ReMixes. This one has an awesome industrial sound to it and while I can see where this might have raised a tiny eyebrow or two, I think it works. Not bad.
  10. Congratulations you three! Good luck in ripping through the queue and helping OCR get better than ever with your work!
  11. Sure, there is a lot of reverb, but it doesn't quite bother me that much. Lovely playing and a very cool OCR debut. Nice and short, this ReMix hits the spot.
  12. Really interesting, this one. It really does sound like a nice classical piece that could fit in around areas like romantic periods in terms of arrangement, like something you'd hear in a grand recital's interlude or slower bit. It's a nice break to hear a ReMix like this after a lot of time with more popular genres and sounds. Love it.
  13. Awesome. While I do agree that the drums among a few other little things could do with a little sprucing up, all in all, I think this ReMix carries out the musical message and feelings that I think you were after fairly well. Not bad at all, pretty good debut mix.
  14. This is the kind of solo-piano ReMix that damn near makes a person cry. Lots of emotion, terrific playing and superb production quality. Not to mention it's so awesome to hear this kind of source get a solo-piano treatment that seems to add, rather than take away, from the source. Very cool.
  15. Man, this is gorgeous and relaxing. Just such a beautiful track that seems enchanted and peaceful. Wonderful arrangement and a great ReMix from both of you.
  16. Happy birthday OCR! 14 Years and still going strong! Let's have many more years of this amazing community filled with wonderful music!
  17. No freaking joke, it does! If someone told me that this came from a Nintendo game, I probably would have taken it as true. Love the sweet Caribbean party feel of this mix and I can just imagine the Kong clan enjoying a nice get-away with this.
  18. Truly beautiful ReMix. It does feel like a calm, emotional piece that would fit in a castle's ballroom, especially near the end of the second minute. Nicely done.
  19. I love how DJP basically says what we're all thinking. Halc is certainly a main event level ReMixer and his work speaks for itself. Classic halc chippy charm with some sweet instrumentation, I can totally dig it.
  20. Happy birthday, bustatunez! Have a great one!
  21. The beat really pops in that first minute, and it just keeps building from there in a nice downbeat groove. One thing that seems to stand out with a lot of the ReMixes on this album is not only the funkiness and electronica/synth arrangements, but how a lot of them capitalize on proper build up and execution, which as Black_Doom said, helps tell the story of the mix. This one is no exception. Good stuff, dude!
  22. You're welcome! It was an amazing post and I'm glad you were able to get more SF 3rd Strike up on the front page with such a great ReMix.

  23. When I heard dub-step and saw the mix title, I was expecting much different. While I don't hate dubstep to begin with, I have to say that I'm pleasantly surprised with this ReMix. The dub is used nicely in moderation around some "funkilectronica" and it's hard not to groove to this one. Very cool combo and I'm impressed by the balance of rough sounds and funky melody. Sweet as hell!
  24. Good clean electronica with enough switch-ups and varying moves to keep things fairly fresh. I like it being closer to the source while having that arrangement feel. I guess I'm just that kind of fan. Great debut, Portanexus!
  25. Way to go, Beth. Fantastic work with Quartz Quadrant "B" and "G". The progression of this ReMix is simply phenomenal. You made this ReMix really pop out and stand tall over a lot of other ambient tracks I've heard, and a little extra spice from Level 99 always seems to help take things that much further. Great song.
