  1. Interesting sound coming off the synths and the e-piano, but they work well together with the guitar to make a wonderful ReMix. Has a nice upbeat feeling to it, and while I also wish there was a little more past the ending solo, that's only because it was built up so well up to that point. Nice work, Ivan, and great ReMix!
  2. Somber and sad, but it does have a hopeful and meaningful message in the lyrics. Really sounds gorgeous for that very reason, along with the instrument choices. You guys' vocals sounded pretty good as well, bringing that emotion out of the ReMix. All in all, sounds great to me.
  3. Happy birthday to one of the best! Have a great one, Sixto!
  4. Oh man, I love this. So smooth and chill, and it's actually the kind of chill that can let you wind down while tapping your toes. That trumpet was terrific and certainly makes up for anything that could be nitpicked at with this ReMix. Honestly, between the arrangement style being well executed and the way I loved how Lava Reef was used, A+ from me.
  5. Odd intro, but very cool nonetheless. Powerful hits from the drums, and the electronica sounded great with the guitar providing some extra oomph to it. Great birthday debut, man!
  6. Holy crap that's awesome! And it's a catchy song on it's own as well. Nice find!
  7. I'm shocked that I haven't reviewed this yet. Fantastic atmosphere in this ReMix, which is why it's one of the best off the Maverick Rising album. Tight, surrounding trance with a great beat, certainly makes for an entertaining ReMix to me. Nice going!
  8. An ethnic jam eh? Well, alright. It does have a very distinctive Arabian or Middle Eastern feelings to it, which has always been a sound I've liked. Kinda adds to the wondrous world-view of NiGHTS in general. Pretty damn good, liked the cameo of Dreams Dreams as well.
  9. Very beginning reminds me almost like something out of an N+ game. I personally don't think it was too short, as it was about three minutes long, but it is a ReMix that seems to go by quickly because it's built up so impressively and flows like a river, which I think is nice. Great addition to the album and one of my favorites from it.
  10. I like the progression this ReMix makes from the more orchestral end to the aggressive metal sections later on. The menacing vibe it gives off as it builds up just makes it that much more satisfying when the metal comes on full force. Not bad at all, man!
  11. Oooh, yeah! Totally loving this! I've always thought that the Castle themes in SMW were a nice mix of elegance and evil in their melodies, and Critical Hit fleshed the hell out of that idea with the violin, cello, piano and guitar here. Man, cool ReMix. You folks are awesome!
  12. Oh, man, I'm just digging the breakbeat drums and the electric guitar work in this ReMix. And of course anything with some nice piano in it is music to my ears. Sweet stuff here, Argle!
  13. This is a combination of various ideas that seems to have turned out pretty good, I'd say. Glitchy electronica that screams robotica with some of Morse's classic style is an awesome match. Great work, Morse!
  14. I love the fact that the electronic synthesizers here make it reminiscent of older style game soundtracks, while using the more orchestral strings to pump some extra life into the arrangement.
  15. This is one hot beat! This is my kind of pure dance/club ReMix, and to throw in some classic NES sound and voice clips, makes for a very enjoyable Halloween jam. Such lovely darkness, just let that beat hit! Well done bLiNd!
  16. Definitely hearing the Sonik Electronik style in this ReMix, which I love to death. Excellent vox work and I have to say that this is my favorite Vampire Killer ReMix to date. So good, Zircon, gold star for you!
  17. It's a ReMix that needs to be heard for the experience, that's for sure. While I enjoyed some of the samples (It's a Selecta! and Yo!YoYo! among some), some of the other samples come off a tad too rough for me. But the randomness combined with humor and perhaps the most recognizable video game song ever makes it fun to hear a few times.
  18. Slick downbeat we have here. Yeah, this has some smooth, dreamy synth and bass work I can really get behind. While I also agree a bit with OA and kinda wish the compression wasn't quite so high, I can see the effect of it on the arrangement and I dig the idea quite a lot. Just a small puddle of an issue compared to the ocean that is this wonderful ReMix to me. Nice work as always, Radiowar.
  19. Congrats on such a landmark album, guys! Capcom and OCR working together again to make awesome music......and available on Amazon MP3 as well.....hmm, yes, I just may have to get this soon.
  20. Want to go ahead and quote that because I get the same feeling from it, especially from listening to MMZ arrangement albums that have had similar stuff in more dramatic pieces. The piano is gorgeous and it has a nice beat that goes against what I normally expect (skips a bit faster ahead of the melody, making it a tad grander and tense, like a battle where the hero just got a second wind). All in all, this ReMix holds up extremely well for being over ten years old and I definitely would recommend this one.
  21. Hey, thanks! :D You do quite a lot of good reviews as well. Let's keep it up and show the ReMixers our love for their talented work!

  22. Policy issue aside (those weighing in on this had their work cut out for'em), the ReMix itself is pretty damn good in my opinion. Love the flute and sax work here and the whole song makes for an awesome addition to the downbeat/smooth jazz genres. Not bad at all.
  23. Fantastic orchestra, and combining it with chiptunes was brilliant. I don't want to say that I was surprised as much as I'd say that I'm delighted to hear such a combination work out like this. And of course I'm a sucker for Windmill Hut, so I'm glad to hear it in there. Creative arrangement, solid production, and great usage of sources. Triple threat of a mix that wins!
