  1. I honestly didn't get much out of this mix the first time I listened to it - I neither liked or disliked it. But with each repetition since then, it has grown and grown on me, until now it's become one of my favorite vocal Remixes. Great instrumentation, too - love it, BGC.
  2. I'm really digging the Eastern feel to this music - it's breathtaking. Great work, Darkesword!
  3. The only complaint I have about this piece is how short it is - brilliant and wonderful listening material. My hat is off to you, sir.
  4. Gutsy career move indeed. Take care of yourself and your men out there, man. You will be missed.
  5. DeathSpank looks freaking amazing. Loved the root of all evil joke, as well. Roll of deutschmarks - hah!
  6. Hopefully this Pikachu also knows ExtremeSpeed...
  7. This. As to the mix itself: The instrumentation was pretty well done, overall, I thought, but the laziness of the lyrics kept me from enjoying it. Still, as Theophany said... five?... pages back, it's an inside joke and there's nothing wrong with that. I just can't see the average guest wandering onto the front page, listening to this, and enjoying it.
  8. You've got some impressive stuff. If you're interested, the Legend of Dragoon project is also looking for artists to create artwork for it. If you are, hit me up with a PM and I'll link you to the site where we're working on it.
  9. Very sweet arrangement, Iggy - I could tell a lot of work went into it. It's got a real good dreamy feel to it, without being lullabyish. Love it.
  10. I'm not a big chiptune fan, but you've got me lovin' this. Great stuff, Gario!
  11. I think I may have cried tears of rage when <spoiler> Aerith died</spoiler> in FF7 the first time I played it. Don't remember for sure, though - that was a good ten years ago, lol. I'm pretty sure I did in FF6, though, when <spoiler>Doma Castle got wiped out</spoiler> - that one really riled me up.
  12. I don't remember the name of it, but there was some sort of really cheesy Dos-based jeopardy matching game that I played when I was 4, on an old IBM. It didn't even really have graphics, just lines and words, but I loved it. First game whose name I can remember was another Dos-based game, Magic Carpet. Still love that game - something about flying around throwing meteors at wyverns and dropping volcanoes upon the heads of the unwary townsfolk just makes my day.

  14. I LOVE the "no clue" gauge and the "pee bar" animations so much! If this movie ends up being 1/2 as awesome as this trailer, count me in. (It kinda reminds me of No More Heroes too.)
  15. Best post of the thread. Also, seriously, why the hell did they put 3D in this movie? Removing the 3D wouldn't salvage it, mind you, but still, there was absolutely no need to make an already bad product worse with the 3D. HOLLYWOOD BAD! Stop with the gratuitous 3D already. It's gotten old. Oh yeah, btw M. Night, when a freaking Twilight movie gets better ratings from serious critics than your movie (taken from WAY better source material), maybe it's time to hang up the director's cap. [/rant]
  16. The first twenty-five seconds of this are absolutely lovely, and the rest of it is great, too. Great progression, great usage of the sources, great all around!
  17. Never heard the original track, but now I'm inspired to go give it a try. Great remix altogether - definitely going on a few playlists.
  18. You've definitely got something good going here; I got chills up my arms when Red XIII's theme really started coming in, and I think you're definitely spot-on so far for the mood you seem to be wanting to set (based on the title of the piece). It's definitely something I'd love to see fleshed out and could see myself desiring strongly to listen to it on a regular basis. Inferno's right, though, we definitely need MORE of the piece, before much can really be said of it - at least 2 minutes, I'd say, give or take. I'll try to find some suggestions to make anyway though. Maybe something you could start with would be delaying the entrance of the flutes following the entrance of the theme at 1:08ish; it felt like the oboe? clarinet? should have more time alone at center stage, more time to develop the theme before the flutes came in, more of a "calm time" before the beat came back in and brought the flutes in with them. The transition between the two felt too quick, too easy. Perhaps you could have the flutes remain in the background for a while before they step to the foreground, perhaps use them to support a second iteration of the clarinet/oboe? Also, the strings sounded a bit... off to me, especially around 0:39-0:46. That could just be me, though - my headphones are admittedly not the best in the world.
  19. Hells yes. Mad props for turning your eye towards FFT, Josh. I, too, excitedly await where this mix is heading.
  20. "If gaming is going through puberty, then motion controls are its first period." Can't argue with that.
