  1. When I click on him I end up on random Square Enix characters.
  2. I sent a wav to both you and Meteo a couple of months ago, maybe you've accidentally deleted the pm but I'm sure Meteo has it since I talked about it with him on IRC not so long ago.
  3. Lahan theme switches like that even on the original soundtrack Some weird time signature stuff I know of: - a bit of 5/4, a bit of 6/4, and a bit of 7/4 - mostly 9/8, except for a small part which is in 5/4
  4. Woot I've played this game a ton but I don't remember any music XD Would be cool if someone remixed it though
  5. I took a listen and I swear as soon as I'm done with my current tracks, I'm gonna remix it. That theme's awesome!
  6. I didn't have much free time for the last contest, so there's a high possibility that I'll enter this one
  7. I remember when this was in the workshop, I downloaded it back then and I still jam to it on my bass from time to time. Good to see it posted, great job metaphist!
  8. b-b-b-but I'm in the middle of recording! xD (I'll send something in half an hour ) EDIT: WIP sent to Dusk, he was in charge of my previous WIPs after all
  9. I had actually finished my track a few weeks ago, but I revisited it yesterday and the mixing, guitar performance and samples were terrible, so I decided to do it again from scratch but with as few changes to the arrangement as possible. I think I'll be able to have everything recorded and put together for this deadline, which will leave the next few months for mixing only. And considering my mixing skills, even that may not be enough time
  10. This source really sounds like a lot can be done with it, so feel free to surprise me :P

Looking forward to hearing your remix! :)

  11. I listened to the source and it's pretty cool! Which genre were you planning to remix it in? :D

  12. I did some minor changes to the toms (panning, slightly increased volume), the link to the new version is the same as the first version (a big yay for dropbox updating capabilities) Now about some other points: - kick drum - I left it clicky because this was originally gonna be more metalish, but even after the change of genre I thought the sound fit the song. I tend not to have my sounds selection narrowed down by my genre choice - break at 1:52 - I tried to add additional elements but nothing seemed to work. I tried a synth line, I tried a guitar solo which then goes into Baba Yetu when the kick&toms enter but nothing really fit in there so I just scrapped it all and left the guitars+ride+bass. There weren't any complaints about it at DoD if I remember correctly, so I decided to keep it as it is. - overcompression/mudiness - I suppose the song does get muddy in a few places, but mixing all the elements in this song was pretty tough. The reason why it's most noticeable at 2:14 is because that's when the most stuff is playing simultaneously - synth, lead, rhythm, bass and 1/8 notes on kick&toms. I literally spent days mixing this and I don't think I can make it any better with the tools at my disposal. - ending - toms are just a nod to my former band's drummer who insisted on having the "last word" in any song, I don't think there's any harm in leaving them as they are
  13. Link to the remix: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/93696675/you_give_me_wings.mp3 Sources: Xenogears - Wings (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOetrgQge8A) Civilization 4 - Baba Yetu (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb-jk6Ftx7o) Chrono Cross - Dream Of The Shore ( )This remix was my entry for the January DoD, and it ended up being 3rd (probably the highlight of my musical career so far XD). I got some feedback on DoD forums and IRC, and I think I fixed everything people thought was off, but it still wouldn't hurt to get additional feedback here before I submit this
  14. A desired tracklist would help a lot. I doubt you'll need someone doing the chocobo theme unless you guys are gonna ride ostriches or something xD I also guess that the tracks would be used in the same context as in the game, so I assume you don't want radical changes in genres from the original music?
  15. This is a great idea, I'd definitely tune in whenever I could.
