Yes! Thank you. It's a great album and the audio replacement pack is a great idea. I'll play this the next time I go through Q2.

Wow, this is a nice blend! It also reminds me of DaMonz's Star King.
The theme starts out feeling like a conventional Terra remix, then picks up at the 0:35 mark. My favourite part is actually that tiny bit from 0:43-0:48 where the melody seems to flip back in the air and does something I hadn't felt before. And great backing percussion when Decisive Battle comes in. I really enjoy it.

Howdy. Today I present you our nearly long-lost interview with Hiroki Kikuta that was done during development of the Seiken Densetsu 3 ocremix project. For some reason, this interview was very difficult to keep a hold on, we lost the first version that Jahan Zoltan graciously helped us with in translation and I'm still embarrassed that I asked him to do it again after that, and then there were some obstacles in getting it posted where people could read it after that. I've been in the web development/marketing/blogging industry for 16 years and I'd never had a document be so slippery!
But thankfully I was recently able to recover it once again (this thing is cursed by Annabelle, I swear) and to make it easiest all the way around for everyone, I just had it posted to my websites www.meteoxavier.com and www.jslawhead.com with credits going where credit is due.
Proper linked version is here: http://www.jslawhead.com/2019/02/my-interview-with-hiroki-kikuta-seiken.html
    Thank you and please enjoy.

Screw it. Screw everything. This is never getting finished. We might as well call it quits and just drop the files somewhere.
    Don't think I haven't thought that way.

DK Island Swing is a classic of his for sure. I thought he was still at Rare, but that's Robin Beanland.
Some of his Battletoads work are amazing, especially the lesser known games.
Battletoads Arcade: Stage 4 (can feel some DK vibes in there) and Stage 3
Battletoads Gameboy: Stage 2, Stage 4, Stage 7

I know David Wise is most well known for his work on the Donkey Kong Country series, but I've been listening to a lot of the original music from many NES games that I grew up with -- all composed by David Wise.  Examples:
Wizards & Warriors series Marble Madness R.C. Pro Am Double Dare ("Gorilla" is a song that I frequently listen to on repeat when I'm trying to get work done) Battletoads The list could honestly go on longer.  And these are all his pre-DKC works!
He isn't dead or dying or anything (to the best of my knowledge), I just have only relatively recently realized that so many of the NES music I loved growing up was composed by him.

Can we talk about how how happy I am right now?! I thought it would get rejected to be honest (almost did actually)...but here it is on OCR, and I'm screaming in happiness! Definitely gonna try to make a new remix. And hopefully I do a lot better. Thank you everyone! And djpretzel' s comments had me rolling lol.

I can already tell I'll be listening to this track a lot. No part stands out: they're all great. It's got drive and energy, almost bubbly at times. Would work great as race music.

Hey guys! This FREE album is an international collab released p̶e̶r̶f̶e̶c̶t̶l̶y̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ two weeks after the Quake II 20th anniversary! It covers (almost) all of the soundtrack to both the original game and the expansions, originally composed by musical mastermind Sonic Mayhem. Check out the team page on the website for a bunch of sexy pics and info about the team. If you buy the album on bandcamp, the money will be going to a charity supporting music education in public schools.
    Hope you enjoy it!

Welcome to the Secret of Mana album, a project that was started way back in 2011. Kicking life back into a project that has lain dormant for so long normally isn't easy, but when you're talking about a game that is as beloved as Secret of Mana, magic definitely can happen!
Growing up, I never owned a Super Nintendo, but that didn't stop me from playing and enjoying a lot of SNES RPGs. Of course, I did play and beat Secret of Mana, and I still have "Fond Memories" of the game and its music. Especially the calm, sad songs and the whale sounds are still imprinted in my mind, and instantly bring back memories of good times and bouts of nostalgia.
Even though the album restart had its fair share of hiccups/problems, I can't help but be incredibly proud of how it all turned out. Big kudos to the artists who really stepped up their game and created these very diverse and creative but still very recognizable interpretations of the world and sounds of the Secret of Mana, and also to Tabby, who really caught the essence of Mana in her beautiful artwork. I'm sure you'll enjoy listening to it just as much as we enjoyed creating it!

    - Jorrith Schaap (Jorito)

The Secret of Mana has always had a special place in my heart -- one of my favorite games of all time. This was one of the first RPGs I ever completed and I've played through this game many, many times since then. The soundtrack for this game has always made me think of the beauty and diversity of nature and the careful balance that maintains them. To me, each track conveys an aspect of this world of Mana and since the center of nature in this world is the Mana Tree, it only made sense that the theme of our album would revolve around the sounds you might hear in the forest surrounding this world-supporting tree -- the Resonance of the Pure Land.
All the remixers have brought their own resonance to this project, often taking their remixes in completely different directions than I expected -- I think this gives the album a distinctly unique flavor that still reflects the themes and values in the game itself. It has been an amazing experience to have worked with such talented and diverse musicians and with Jorrith on directing. I learned a heck of a lot from everyone, enjoyed watching this project grow, and I'm happy I was able to be part of it. I hope you will enjoy this album and hope it becomes as much as classic for you, the listener, as the Secret of Mana itself.

In the past 2 weeks, we've been wrapping up work on the album, received some track updates, finished the artwork and other bits and bobs. In short: we just sent over the final package to OCR staff so they can do their thing and bring it to y'all. To celebrate, I updated the first post of this thread with the album art as a teaser for the good things to come. Only a bit more time before we can finally share the good stuff with you all

With the go ahead from @djpretzel, I waited until their OCRemix Panel was complete this past Saturday at MAGFest where they would premiere this exclusive preview of this album: Arcadia Legends! Now that the MAGFest panel is over, it is time to unveil the trailer to the rest of you who didn't make it to MAGFest this year! Hopefully you all enjoy the sneak peek soundbytes in this trailer and get hyped. For those who were on the fence of contributing to it, guess what? We still got a few more tracks left to claim! By all means, shoot us a note and we can get things started! We're almost to the end!
Kudos to my co-director Modus for building off the base trailer I had created and making a fantastic version of it!

I personally think it's VERY appropriate that the Secret of Mana project will be released before this one - even with all that implies on the development speed here. Surely the game that precedes this one should come out before this one, yes?
I've not had a ***damn moment to breathe since my last post. I am in OCR Discord a lot but I'm always working in addition to that too (the chat function is to allow me some mental stimulation as I multi-task to keep going. I want to compare it to an engine of some kind, but I don't know much about engines). I have some new work that came in right as I need to help cover the cost of my new car, but I think this weekend will give me the opportunity I seek for the work I need to do here.
Thank you for your continued patience with me. I'm sorry I still have to ask for patience as I'm having yet another one of the most punishing holiday seasons I've ever experienced, but I'll be dead before I give up!
And even then, I'll try to pull some strings behind the mortal veil to keep pushing along as well.

Great news! I'm trying to get a few remixers to finish up their polish critique changes on their pieces/tracks and we should have 5 more tracks done with the album, which puts us up to 26 finished tracks for the album! And if you'll notice, I replaced the Epilogue track from Disc 3, move Theme of Reflection from Disc 1 to Disc 3 and put Ophanin's Dungeon Cave track at the end of Disc 1. So that's going to be one more finished track for the album in hopefully a few weeks! We're nearing the end everyone. We have 4 more tracks left to claim! Let's get this finished for 2018! Woooo!!!

OC ReMix Announces Official 501c3 Non-Profit Status as Project of Game Music Initiative, Inc

    November 24th, 2017
    Contact: press@ocremix.org
FAIRFAX, VA... OverClocked ReMix today announced its status as a fully-sponsored project of Game Music Initiative, Inc (GMI), a newly-formed 501c3 non-profit charitable organization devoted to the promotion of video game music as an art form.
Established on November 26th, 2016, the mission of GMI is as follows:
EDUCATE the world about game music as an art form, PROMOTE game music and game composers, RESEARCH game music and contribute to the body of free and open knowledge, PRESERVE the history of game music and archive relevant artifacts, PROVIDE resources for existing and aspiring game composers, PROTECT the right to explore game music through transformative works and assistive technologies, and SUPPORT any projects that advance these goals. OverClocked ReMix founder David W. Lloyd expressed his enthusiasm about this development and the need for such a transition:
"For seventeen years, OverClocked ReMix has been a community effort, but has been owned by a single individual, myself, and not officially registered as a 501c3 charitable organization. Game Music Initiative was created to support this project, and others like it in the future, and provides permanent assurance of non-profit status while also enhancing financial transparency & operational continuity," Mr. Lloyd noted. "This transition paves the way for exciting developments ahead, makes all donations from US citizens tax deductible, and builds on the foundation of trust and long-term commitment that OC ReMix has developed since 1999."
More information about GMI, including its board of directors, can be found at https://gamemusic.org.
An FAQ is available and will be updated to address any questions surrounding this change of status.

Bolero of Fire is appropriate. Because it was named "Time Crush", I was looking for the Song of Time at first.
I like the moment at 2:10-2:12. My favourite section is from 2:28 to 2:43. Not sure what's going on there but I quite like it.
