  1. You can argue that the other films would work with a similar character, and perhaps that Temple of Doom could work with most action heroes, but definitely 1 and 3 require a character with the same basic set of abilities AND personality to be pulled off.
  2. Currently? Mostly Age of Conan.
  3. Not only are you right about the game, you're right about the error. You win TWICE.
  4. Challenge time! "Punch! Kick! It's all in the mind!"
  5. Alrighty, since there seems to be more debate about this than I had originally anticipated, I will go ahead and clear up my thoughts on this film for you all. All in all, a decent adventure flick. Scores higher than National Treasure 2 in my book. However, it ranks only just above Temple of Doom in my book as far as an Indiana Jones movie (I can't stand Temple of Doom because of the amazingly annoying female lead, but that's a whole different post). My main issue with it wasn't the CGI, which I thought was perfectly acceptable for the most part, but was rather with the way the story was presented. I will try to be as spoiler free as possible, but those who have seen the movie will likely know what I'm talking about: During the first 15 minutes of the movie, we are told what the final "twist" of the movie ought to have been. Frankly, knowing the origin of the object right at the beginning removed much of what could have been interesting plot development. Second, no longer was Indiana Jones finding his own way. He was often being led about by other characters, namely Mutt initially (you've GOT TO COME HELP) and, in a much worse case, by John Hurt's character. John Hurt's character had already solved THE ENTIRE FILM, and the other characters merely followed him through it. Much of what made Indiana Jones the character we all love is gone as well. Besides a few sparkling moments, the character is generally not witty, coy, or any of those things. He was merely along for the ride as the resident badass.. the film could actually have worked exactly the same without his character at all, if you made Mutt slightly more intelligent to figure out things up until the point where John Hurt's character entered the story. And an Indiana Jones film where Indiana Jones himself is not necessary to the story arc... that's a bad thing.
  6. Speaking as an artist attempting to get into the games industry right now, it is definitely a difficult process. If you're trying to get your art recognized, the best thing to have is 1) a good showcase of your work, and 2) apply to everything entry-level that you can possibly think of. Also, being on people's goodside is very useful. I will probably be applying at EA pretty soon. ...Wingless, have I ever told you how much I LOVE YOU?
  7. Just saw it this last weekend. Average at best. Some very entertaining parts, but as a whole it fails as an Indy movie on many levels.
  8. Very nice! My favorite theme from Super Metroid. Although this song strays quite a bit from the sound of the original, I dig what you've done with it. The drum programming is fantastic and intense: your hard work really shows.
  9. Did a little tweaking on the background art, should make things more readable.
  10. Thanks! Almost all the art on the page is done in Photoshop (if 2d) or Alias Maya (if 3d).
  11. Thanks GT. I'll look into the font.
  12. Well, I finally went and bought myself some webspace, and my personal website is now up at http://www.danbruington.com. It's more for my art and trying to get a job and all, but there's some music on there as well. I'd appreciate it if you could give me a few comments on it, see what could be improved and what not. Thanks.
  13. ...sounds like SOMEONE just flunked out of music school. ...and what he said too.
  14. We're not talking about needing _remixes_ per se, but just having higher quality music in general is a good idea. The music on that page is really low quality. The same exact treatment by better musicians could lead to much cooler sounding stuff.
  15. Wow. Looks quite fun actually.
  16. Incorrect. I got it to just load in a jpg and its worked fine ever since.
  17. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with adaptation. They simply don't want to give the new game a chance because they got really good at the tricks that aren't in the new version.
  18. My girlfriend plays Smash. She likes bowser, and she's pretty good with him. It is awesome.
  19. Dude, is that a Starchaser: Legend of Orin pic in your sig? You just became my hero! Love that movie.
  20. Hope you enjoy any of that material as much as I do. It's certainly not for everybody... but man I wish it was.
  21. ZBS productions has long done some of the best audio dramas in the history of audio dramas. A brief listing of their most amazing work (in order of my preference): Ruby 3 (might be better to listen to Ruby 1 first, to get introduced to some of the major characters, but Ruby 3 is nothing less than a dramatic achievement) Moon over Morocco (the best Jack Flanders story) Any of the other Ruby stories, esp. Ruby 1, 4, and 5 Various Jack Flanders works of awesomeness: The Fourth Tower of Inverness, The Incredible Adventures of Jack Flanders, etc. And that's just scratching the surface. It's really too bad not many people know about this material.
