  1. You might have. Inside the egg is probably better off as a gbs than as a remix, yeah.
  2. Ooooh, so Mysterious Woods is up for grabs, then? Also, which song is #8/96? I can't place it...
  3. The difference between Apple and Microsoft is that the latter does not make computers. You can't force people who buy a PC to also buy an OS. What if someone builds their own computer using spare parts? And what if you want to scrap your old computer and install windows on your new one, without having to get another copy of windows? As you know, when you buy an Xbox, you get the OS as part of the hardware package. That's because microsoft makes both the xbox and the os for it. PC's don't work that way (THANK GOD), and having the OS as part of the hardware package goes against everything that's so nice about PC's. The fact that pretty much everyone uses microsoft's OS's anyway is not really important. It's a matter of principles.
  4. There is for Windows. So I guess it's possible. No one's made on for the Mac yet, that's all. Or least as far as I know.
  5. Amazing. I'll read this through, then. You're my hero.
  6. Ok, I'm a little confused. Does this mean that I can download a song from OCR and then put it on my own website, and that's ok as long as I don't tell people it's from OCR? Why would you not want me to say it's from OCR? 'm guessing I'm interpreting this thing wrong, but that's what it reads in my mind. If you can't say it's from OCR, you'd have to remove the OC_ReMix suffix and all mentions of it in the tag as well, but then you'd be violating So, bottom line, you can't distribute OC remixes. But that kinda goes against... oh wait. This is the submission agreement. Ignore the above part of the post. Sorry... Anyway, for clarification, I think it should be "not attributed to OverClocked ReMix, and so long as such distribution"... if that's what you mean. Why are legal documents always to difficult to understand anyway? Silly lawyers. As for projects, are all remix projects on OCR to be encompassed by this license, or only the ones approved to be "official" OCR remix projects?
  7. Just out of curiosity - are there any free tracks left? Is there a tracklist that says which gbs song is played where in the game? The project forums seem to be down.
  8. Gamedev.net? Seriously, I think the easiest way would be joining a team of hobby developers and then hope their game gets famous. That's a way in for almost everyone in the game industry (especially if you don't have any related education). It'll take a while, but it's both meriting and a good experience. The game needs to actually get finished though, or it's no use. Actually, I know of a game that's going to be published. It's being made by a bunch of Germans, and they're looking for people to make music for their game. You won't get paid (most likely anyway), but you'll have your name in the credits of a published (to be sold in stores) game. Interested? Try http://www.thefreakwave.com/
  9. You know, I feel kinda the same way with this project. Time's almost up and I know I won't be able to finish my song before the deadline. It's probably best for this project to go sleepy until the other projects finish up, because there's no point in having a project that no one wants to join (not even the noobs).
  10. Yeah, but it's funny that the general interest for them is so... lacking. It didn't use to be this difficult.
  11. If I hadn't gotten caught up in the MM4 project (which seems pretty doomstruck), I would have launched a Mega Man Gameboy project a long time ago (all the preparations are made, I just haven't launched it). Really, the problem with MM4 seems to be that no one has played it (or, I'm guessing that's why the project is so unpopular). Either that or all the remixing-able Mega Man fans have already grown up and left OCR for real life.
  12. Could you tell us the nsf track number, at least?
  13. I was going to go to the one in Stockholm this Saturday but I ended up selling my ticket because I'd promised to go with the choir I sing with to be Antony and the Johnson's warm-up band before their concert. So I ended up not going. But there'll be another concert this time next year, so I guess I'll go see that instead.
  14. I guess it answered my question, yes. I'm pretty content with my mic (I think). Are you saying there's a way to record microphone through USB? Could you give me a specific example, more specific than make? I don't know anything about these things and am not in the mood to get another sound card (at least not yet). EDIT: Is this the stuff you're talking about? http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHUCA202 And I'm guessing this won't do the job, if the buzz is coming from the soundcard itself... http://www.zzounds.com/item--BEHHD400
  15. Hi I have a pretty decent mic, by no means a studio, but a pretty silent room. I've noticed that no matter how hard I try, I'm getting a lot of noise when recording anything. Listen to this: http://www.ngst.nu/buzz.wav I begin by just leaving the mic on, then turn it off (that's the first pop), leave it off, then turn it on again (second pop)... and the noise is the exact same when the mic is on as when it is off. So the noise is coming from the hardware. I have a Sound Blaster X-Fi. I know many people dislike it, but its makers make a big deal of it being a good sound card. What can I do to eliminate this buzz noise, other than get another, better, sound card? Is there a disturbance in the force? Could the buzz be caused by fans in the computer, magnetic interference (cell phones, speakers, wireless comms)?
  16. No, no buttons, and no, the fire rod has nothing to do with it. But like I said, I got it, so I don't need help anymore! Thanks tho.
  17. None of the stones can be pushed, as that would result in them falling into the chasm. Pulling doesn't seem to work, either. EDIT: nm, I got it. Had to get outside, fall down a hole, touch a star and then walk back to the room another way.
  18. Hi I've gotten stuck in Zelda 3. Here's where I'm at: How do I get to the locked door on top? I have a key, but I don't know how to get past the chasm. There's nothing to hookshot at, I can't jump, and it doesn't appear to be possible to fall down from the ceiling. Also, if I get across, how do I get back??
  19. Sorry, clarification: by 2:46- I meant from 2:46 and on...
  20. You're very unlikely to get less than 100ms of lag.
  21. Sorry to have kept you waiting. My thoughts: The initial synth feels rather "preset" somehow, like, it's not your creation, but you've found a synth you like... I do this a lot myself., I don't know why but it just doesn't feel right. Maybe it's because it makes that very obvious filter peak upon a new note... The piano is alright. Yes, it sounds mechanical, but it feels kinda like it's intended. This happens alot in early 90's trance music. The transition at 00:55 is abrupt but still works surprisingly well. Keep that crash cymbal fadeout going instead of cutting it off and it'll feel a lot smoother. 01:10-01:40 feels incredibly empty. Keep some hi-hats going, or something. 01:51- hi-hats for a snare? Ok, it actually works, but you need some other snare, too. 02:17- is pretty cool. 02:46- is actually pretty nice. The warbly thingy you got there is sweet, but the pasted-on-top saw wave really feels, well, pasted on top. Interesting change at 3:55. I wouldn't mind if the whole mix was like this, to be honest, preferrably with some strings/choir/guitar crunch for extra yum. It really gives the song new life, and it feels very nostalgic at the same time. Like I said, interesting. Consider expanding this part. Overall, this is very wip-ish. You need to work a lot more on it, which I'm sure you've realized yourself. There's a lot of dryness here. I know you wanted to get more comments on your arrangement, but last time, it was difficult to appreciate because I couldn't hear anything but the melody, and now I'm too bothered with production to really be able to listen to your arrangement. All I can really say about that is that you need to work more on your transitions.
  22. *gasp* Activity! Toma, your mix is awesome. Some notes were "off" (compared to the original), but in general, I'm impressed. A little more punch from the drums would be nice though. DJ Symbiotix, you need to work some more on your drums, and the volume levels were kind of unbalanced in general. The melody is too loud and the drums are faint and usually kind of boring. I think your mix could be developed a lot more, but it shows promise. Just lowering the volume level on the melody synth would help improve your mix a lot. XFactor, you have improved incredibly since your Dust Man mix. Volume levels are better, but still not good. There's no bass at all in this wip of yours and that guitar is absolutely horrible, although I think the mix could probably work if it was replaced. The mix is really really simple right now though.
  23. Yep yep. Summer luvin', yap-tap-ta-da-da-doo-dee-doo...
