It was pretty nice having a little extra spare time to polish things up a bit more. I can definitely say I went all out for this one!

I just recently finished up this little solo piano arrangement of Song of Healing from Majora's Mask and thought I would share it with you all. I realize this is an insanely popular piece for people to remix/cover, but it's such a special piece, but I think the tune is so malleable and it was fun to try and do something different with it. I originally had made something far more virtuosic and flashy but it didn't fit the intimate feel of the original. I instead opted for something more subdued and "pretty". I added a little intro and outro based on some of the original harmonic material and I think it works as a nice framing device for the piece. At first I keep the tune fairly traditional, but ended up gradually adding some of my own personal flourishes throughout. Hope you guys enjoy it. Let me know what you think.

OC ReMix presents Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness!

FAIRFAX, VA... OverClocked ReMix today released its 67th free community arrangement album, Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness. Featuring 70 tracks from 56 artists as well as an interview with the game's legendary composer Hiroki Kikuta, Songs of Light and Darkness pays tribute to the celebrated Japan-exclusive 16-bit Square RPG Seiken Densetsu 3, and is directed by Finnish musician Rozovian along with assistant director Meteo Xavier. Released just after the game's 23rd anniversary and representing over 10 years of gradual development, Songs of Light and Darkness assembles a global lineup of musicians tackling Hiroki Kikuta's progressive SNES soundtrack in a variety of styles across 4 1/2 hours of interpretive arrangements. Songs of Light and Darkness was made by fans, for fans, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Square Enix; all images, characters, and original compositions are copyright their respective owners.

"The album project began more than a decade ago. And, hey, we got the whole tracklist done. The slow progress eventually gave us the whole soundtrack wonderfully remixed by OC ReMix regulars and strangers alike," recalled album director Rozovian. "It's an eclectic mix of things, with the expected orchestral and metal epics sharing space with instrumentation and styles including waltz, rap, Mellotron, reggae, harpsichord, J-rock, and plenty of world music elements from all over the place incorporated into a large number of the remixes."

The album's immersive character and environment artwork -- focused on the game's light and dark classes -- was designed by New Jersey artist Min "Keiiii" Kwon, author and illustrator of the Korean webtoon-inspired fantasy comic Heart of Keol.

"Though only released in Japan, the Western gamers who came across [Seiken Densetsu 3], either on cartridge or by other means, found it one of the most beautiful games on the SNES. The music plays a big part in that," Rozovian observed. "I'm very happy to have my name among the artists here, and I'm sure you can find something you like on this behemoth of an album."

Songs of Light and Darkness is OC ReMix's second album honoring composer Hiroki Kikuta, following 2017's Resonance of the Pure Land, which arranged the soundtrack of Seiken Densetsu 3's more widely released 1993 prequel Secret of Mana.

TURBODRIFT is a Mario Kart ReMix Album project, consisting of 4 sets of 4 ReMixes, separated by 4 voice tracks introducing each set. Which puts us to 20 tracks.
Each set is considered like a 'cup', there is 4 of them : "Mushroom Cup", "Shell Cup", "Banana Cup" and "Star Cup".
==CREATING THE ALBUM==
♫♪ This album is under some restrictions that MUST be respected so that we can live all together in peace. ♫♪
First, There is some rules regarding each cup:
There is only one ReMix of any "Mario Circuit" VGM from any MK game available and it MUST be on the "Mushroom Cup" set. There is only one ReMix of any "Bowser Castle" VGM from any MK game available and it MUST be the last track on the "Banana Cup" set. There is only one ReMix of any "Rainbow Road" VGM from any MK game available and it MUST be the last track on the "Star Cup" set. However, the theme will be publicly voted and imposed to the ReMixer who choose this track. (Vote has ended on October 10th 2018 - Super Mario Kart Rainbow Road has been voted.) Each track must remix a different circuit theme, and not a different version. (To prevent SMK madness from the sets)
Ex: If Donut Plains 1 is picked, there cannot be any Donut Plains 2 ReMix in the album. Location on sets will be decided between ReMixers. (Optional but prefered) Each Set should contain 4 different remixes, from drastically different circuits. This is not mandatory but it ads to the album's dynamic. You can pick any track from any MK game you want as long as it fits the rules here, it's first come first serve, make sure to write down your choice on this thread so that everybody can see it.

I was happy with what I was able to do last round with what time I had available but I definitely felt my mix was a little "safe".  Didn't venture too far outside my comfort zone.  Starphoenix had a more interesting take to me so I threw a vote that way.  Definitely keep it up!
I was a little bummed that I didn't get Flash Man originally but looks like I get a shot at that theme after all.  I'll see what I can muster up this week, considering I'm remixing my first and second picks now.

Subbed this track as I feel it's ready for an evaluation from the judges panel!

Good news! I learned how to embed. The piece is largely more complete than it was.  At this point it is much more full in textures and feels a lot less like a bunch of individual segments.
Things to do:
Finalize the thematic ideas
Do more with video sync (making sounds represent actions on screen).
Making things more consistent throughout, articulations mainly.
Clean up the notation and check for practicality (it is playable as it is, but are there places that could be simplified for the same effect).
Write a piano and guitar part of some significance that contributes to the piece as a whole.

Soul Calibur 2 is one of my favorite games, such awesome music! I totally hear it in the movement of this piece!
