  1. They are too busy playing NEO GEO ROMS.
  2. The CIA doesn't care about your Geneva Convention.
  3. Played and beat this weeks ago. A masterpiece.
  4. rofl Yeah I'm pretty sure people most gamers don't even know what boycott means.
  5. Putting everything in the cloud is a horrible idea. A couple of weeks ago Google decided to lock me out of my Google account for a couple of days without any kind of warning. I couldn't access Gmail, Reader, Calendar, anything. The reason? I still don't know. The only thing I could think of was maybe some IMAP gone wonky? They never told me why, just "sorry for the inconvenience." I'm not interested in a company being able to hold my data hostage like that. Also, kind of tangental, but I really hate that people don't differentiate between an Operating System and a Shell anymore. I know that this is both because it's based on Linux, but still.
  6. Brushfire, knock it off. Only warning.
  7. We have a new Social Group feature on OCR, and we're trying it out with gaming communities and album projects. We've got a TF2 group here where people can make multiple discussions based on different topics pertaining to TF2. Join up, please. http://ocremix.org/forums/group.php?groupid=1
  8. Stop talking about Left 4 Dead 2 in the TF2 thread.
  9. Not really knocking VGMix here, yes, that was the concept, but in practice, the people ranking remixes on VGMix eventually boiled down to a few regulars that numbered around the same size of OCR's panel. But anyway, I think a lot of people are assuming a lot about what's being considered as far as a revision of the Workshop section of OCR. Forget about rating and ranking and doing what VGMix did; the basic idea that's being tossed around is giving artists the ability to "release" a song on OCR by tying it to the database and making artist released tracks searchable by game and all that other nice stuff. No, they won't be tagged as OC ReMixes, and yes, you'd still have to submit and go through the process to get posted on the front page and all that jazz, but it's more about taking stuff that people release out of a "forum" context and make it something far more browsable. Instead of creating a thread that gets lost in a sea of "check out my first remax," you add your remix to a catalog of Workshop mixes. Hypothetically we could even host them (but I'm not in any position to commit to that kind of thing). It's all very cerebral/conceptual right now, but the basic idea is not to replace OCR's current Panel system or to ape VGMix's tiers and ranks, but to make the Workshop more functional for artists trying to release their work and for listeners trying to find the latest mixes the community has to offer. Also, Mono, when people talk about improving the WIP forum and other people say "it's fine, it works in the end," the discussion isn't really about promoting work but about getting meaningful feedback for the purposes of submitting. It's really a different discussion altogether.
  10. You're making far too many assumptions about what OCR is and what OCR isn't.
  11. It's justifiable. Don't discount it (ha ha get it?) just because it's 2D.
  12. Wat. Portuguese is the best singing language.
  13. It's really good but sometimes it's frustrating when your brother jumps on your head making you fall into a pit.
  14. You ought to scale back the vitriol.
  15. I would take you up on the offer but right now I don't have a computer I can play the game on.
  16. Seriously? This is a thread about VIDEO GAME MUSIC and you put it in Off-topic? Goddamn it, you should know better. Just for that I'm renaming your topic to something dumb.
  17. The effect that pregame mayhem has on stats is negligible in the longrun. When you have 14000 kills and 15000 deaths, a couple of pregame mayhem kills are not going to affect overall trends.
  18. I bought this game for PS3. It's really jawesome. I love my incendiary sniper rifle.
  19. caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake
  20. Please don't bring me into this argument. I have said that I care about long-term stats because I get an accurate representation of how well I do overall. Getting slain by admin command at the end of a map is a drop in the bucket for me and doesn't affect my long term trends.
  21. I think part of the reason some people don't speak up is that they don't want to get accused of "white-knighting" a girl. A lot of times on the net when a guy sticks up for a girl, people will look at him and say, "you're just defending her because you want to impress her and you want her to like you," even if he's just trying to do the right thing. We shouldn't worry about that kind of bullshit. If some random dumbass pubbie is treating any player (boy or girl) like crap, call them on it. Let them know, "hey, that's not cool, and it's against server rules. Knock it off." Unfortunately, sometimes admins aren't around and can't mute/kick/ban the d-bags, but sometimes if the majority of the players speak up, you can make it clear that that kind of crap is not okay, and maybe they'll stop or say sorry or just leave. We also have votekick commands and stuff, so don't be hesitant to use those against abusive players. EDIT: Oh also, sometimes when I play TF2 I get really into it and I don't really pay that much attention to the text chat, so I'll miss stuff that's said there. If someone says something to you that you find seriously find offensive (racism, sexism, etc.) while I'm there playing and I don't do anything about it, feel free to MSG me on Steam and say "hey that guy said something pretty terrible." I don't mind stopping to take care of it. This doesn't apply to just the women in the community either, it goes for all of our pleasant players who are credit-to-community.
  22. 8:30 or 9PM would be better. Gotta eat and get cleaned up.
  23. Original L4D is emotionally-draining for me, which is why I never played it as often as I should've. I think it's all the nighttime dreariness. I liked playing the demo in the daytime. It was a nice change of pace.
  24. 7 EST is no good for me. I'm at kung fu class, which ends at 7:30PM.
