  1. Generally speaking, working for "exposure" is an empty promise because that "exposure" doesn't actually net you anything. This hearkens to all that stuff you always read about never working for free and devaluing your profession when you give away work, etc., etc. The Super Bowl, however, is an exception to this, because the Super Bowl is arguably the most watched entertainment program in the US every single year. Working for "exposure" at an event on the level of the Super Bowl translates into real monetary gain. The kind of attention you get by working as an entertainer during the Super Bowl halftime show is higher than any other concert you could ever perform.
  2. Bravely Default is a spiritual successor to 4 Heroes of Light. If you're excited for BD, give 4HOL a try.
  3. vBulletin does this weird thing where sometimes it will "moderate" your messages that you post in a social group. If you notice that your posts are "unapproved" or "awaiting moderation" please contact me. I will approve them so that your votes are counted.
  4. Definitely worth it. Love that game.
  5. Begoma added. In the future, please use PM.

  6. I know you're trying to help, but please don't answer questions if you're not a Judge.
  7. My friend started a modest Kickstarter (goal of $650) for a history research project concerning Japanese tops. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1001301289/carving-community-oral-history-of-us-and-japanese It's super nerdy but I think it's pretty neat. Help out if you can.

  10. We can do talkback earlier. Let's do 8PM.
  11. We can merge the accounts. EDIT: Accounts merged. You are now Coaltergeist.
  12. More about Apex Series! http://apex-series.com Download it! http://apex.ocremix.org Torrent! http://bt.ocremix.org/torrents/Apex_2014_-_A_New_Challenger.torrent
  13. A creative arrangement with lots of great part-writing and interpretation. I like the use of Indestructible as a breakdown section in the middle. Piano's a bit mechanical but I don't think it's a deal breaker; piano is prevalent but not solo, and I think that with everything else going on, it gels nicely. No big issues. YES
  14. Hey man. Your real name field is for real name only, not for titles (album director, etc). I've removed it.

  15. Do it by regions. Makes the most sense. Consider doing an open call for people who are just vocalists and pair them up with musicians and remixers from the community. There are a lot of talented folks outside of OCR who sing and rap but don't necessarily have production/arrangement chops who'd love to be in on something like this. Would also recommend getting a dedicated production consultant to make sure vocal mixing is tight across the board.

  17. Just start a tumblr and go from there
  18. "performance" That was a catastrophe.
  19. Like the other thread, let's avoid posting just lists and titles. Give some reasons.
  20. Folks, let's try to post more than just a title or a list of titles. Give some reasons and get some discussion going.
  21. I'm personally pulling for a Sonic 3D Blast album featuring both Genesis and Saturn soundtracks.
  22. OCRFest isn't going to happen. MAGFest already fills that niche. A bunch of people checking into a crap hotel for a weekend with nothing to do besides hang out with each other isn't enough of a draw to get people from all over the country and across the ocean to come together. MAGFest has live performances, panels, vendors, and a massive amount of games to play. There are things to do at MAGFest with all of your friends. Like newt said, meetups already happen, usually at someone's house or in a city somewhere. But those are informal social gatherings, not organized festivals with rented out floorspace. OCR isn't going to organize it's own multi-day festival. It's a massive amount of work and a massive amount of money, and MAGFest already does it extremely well and still somehow manages to charge a comparatively low rate. In any case, let's get back on topic, i.e. the post-MAG brunch.
