  1. So quick after Gunstar Heroes and all? You're on fire DusK xD I can't see myself being able to actively contribute to it, since 90s dance and groove isn't necessarily what I do best, but I'll still be happy to promote this as it goes along =)
  2. To be fair, going by what happened from when we did B&R, perhaps they should've done more consulting with Square Enix themselves and send some of the KS money towards paying for the FF licence. They've been notoriously stingy with their products for years, so with regret I wasn't surprised to see the web series KS get shut down.
  3. Dude, if there was a Facebook-type "like" button integrated on this forum, I'd so press it for Callum's enthusiasm =)
  4. Yep! That's one of 6 hidden cameos in there - 5 Sonic-related, 1 in a completely different game series. Wonder if anyone would find them all...
  5. I have a 3DS now! My code: 1134-7990-9173, if anyone wants to add it
  6. I saw the results there this morning. Coincidentally TheShizz seems to be down as well, but Crimson did speak of the server changing hands again (can't remember who exactly, but he did jokingly say that it was "taken over by Russia"). Just hold on - either site will be back up momentarily.
  7. Thank you all for the responses! Been a quiet day at home, but still pleasant nevertheless. Guess that's what we get for apparently having this country associated with reference books out of the wazoo... xD
  8. Can you remember when you sent it? If it was something like a week ago, it won't appear in the submissions queue for another few months due to how big the backlog is.
  9. Rexy

I see you attempted to sent me a PM. Try again, emptied my inbox x)

  10. The Minecraft short was fixed when I went on the Youtube page. As for Newgrounds, I've sent a message over to the audio plagiarism page and hopefully it'll get looked into. [EDIT: Track removed from Newgrounds. Nothing new to see here, move along...]
  11. I don't know, 'fucked up' or not the ending 'transition' for Daydream seemed to work as a badass intro build here Probably the ears of your standard listener wouldn't notice the difference when listening to it outside of its intended purpose.
  12. So my haul of the sale ended up being Scribblenauts Unlimited, Evoland (which I already finished......), ASRT and RPG Maker VX ACE. Brandon also gifted me To The Moon near the start of the sale as well. Not a bad run this Summer =)
  13. Cash hit it nail on the head. Apparently a handful of artists may have expected so much more from OCR due to its past, but a lot of us aught to have learnt by now that we come here to learn our craft, have fun making stuff and putting it out there - a sweet hobby community at the end of the day. The best advice I received on this issue is from OA, and that can apply to a handful of people here going under that same treatment: So naturally, for some of us the fan response may not be what we desired, but we still got to congratulate ourselves for being a part of this mammoth undertaking and seeing all the positives that came from it. Climate change sucks, I know, but by adapting and comparing to more recent (relevant?) experiences we get to see the effect that the album's work has done
  14. I feel stupid for sending the first post to one of my own tracks, but in response to Vinnie's post, it's Roger Craig Smith, not Jaheel White. But I do appreciate the feedback nevertheless, both from the panel and the site visitors
  15. It's a climate that has changed considerably over the past few years - applies to mixposts in the same way. You'd be lucky if a single track gets 10 posts in its own thread in a day right now. From personal experience, the response in comparison to mixposts from 6-8 years ago and mixposts now is that currently there's fewer reactions but are much less rabid in nature (i.e. you can still criticise it but you won't go as far as being a moron about it). And of course there's the social networks as well. People still browse from the many social feeds out there and offer their thoughts there too, without much of a need to sign up. It's a change in climate, nothing wrong on the album's part at all - we did what we could at the end of the day.
  16. You and I both. I saw the game trailer as well, and I have to say from what I've read about it, this is an amusingly quirky concept. I'm also surprised with what I've seen it somehow got a 12+ rating from the PEGI system as opposed to anything higher, but that's beside the point. So yeah, it's not just Brad that's diving deeper into the PS3 realm here x)
  17. For the Future trilogy, there's a recap FMV at the start of both Quest for Booty and A Crack in Time. Any knowledge on the original PS2 trilogy would be minimal at best, and if there are references to them, they don't go so far in-depth as to make you wonder what the hell is going on. The HD remasters of the PS2 trilogy isn't as serialised as Future is, so it's also fine to just jump in there whenever you please xD
  18. The best way to describe them is "platforming with guns" - and the wacky arsenal is indeed one of the major highlights of each game. The series' sequels generally have a more forgiving difficulty due to the ability to 'level up' your guns from using them a lot, with A Crack in Time in particular having 3 different difficulty levels to choose from right from the word go, so if platforming is a problem for you then that's a start to help settle in.
  19. When I got a PS3, I was thinking the same thing. But upon building up the library I had, the games I went for were mostly sequels to already established franchises (Ratchet & Clank Future trilogy, Sly 4, Katamari Forever depending on whether you like the franchise and/or have played Beautiful Katamari at least) with the occasional 'novel' experience thrown in (PS All-Stars so far). Some of the HD remakes are also worth getting if you want a nostalgic throwback or haven't had the chance to play them in the past for whatever reason. By that logic, looking for whatever games to fuel that craving niche would be pretty simple if you've had a PS1/PS2 in the past. But I still however stand that the R&C:F trilogy (esp. A Crack in Time) is worth getting beyond filling that niche
  20. I do get what you mean, and that was indeed how I made my start looking for stuff on OC Remix - looking for arrangements to source material I recognize. But aside from the obvious Sonic and Final Fantasy related material, I couldn't relate to most of the other games at all at that time, and thought games that defined my youth weren't even touched (hence eventually building up the skillset to try for myself). But you should've seen the kind of questions I had in my head when I first saw some of the mixes here: - What's this 'Chrono Trigger' game you guys are heaping praise for? (bear in mind it never came out here before the DS port...) - I've played a bit of Mega Man X, but what makes the original NES games so special? - Never played Castlevania, so why's it a big deal for live instrument players? Oddly, in the latter two cases I went on to play more in those respective series and even had several mixposts for them, but that's beside the point. What OC Remix got me to do was opened my own horizons and understood other people's nostalgia while at the same time exploring territory I personally hadn't tread before. However it does get disheartening when others won't tread the same ground you've done gaming-wise as a youth, but this appears to be how the world turns. Regardless of genre tackled, if I show what the source means to me then it makes me feel all the more motivated to keep going. To sum it up, we're all artists at the end of the day and expressing ourselves with our innermost passions. To understand that, exploring outside of your listening comfort zone would definitely help you find some hidden gems. Believe me, it will be worth it
  21. Think it's about time I chipped in - a great week's launch, saw a thrilling ride all the way through I could pick favorites, but the last thing I want to do is to really upset people to the point they get left out (albeit for my utmost favorites, the artists more than likely already know). But I have to say it's one heck of a coherent album that fitted the scope just well from the traditional to the downright quirky, was a pleasure to be involved with the whole thing as well, and is definitely one for the record books thanks to the sweet response all around! I wanted to have done more to promote it - couldn't do the usual perspective video due to what went down with Square. But I'm still working on something to go onto my Youtube page at least - hopefully it won't be too late by the time it gets up there >_>
  22. I saw your PM. Let's say you COULD'VE had a finished track from me 2 months ago had it not been for a *cough*certainotherprojectdirector*coughcough*. But it is being worked on, direction and everything.

  23. Brandon, please don't scare me with that. I at least am notifying you that I am active and that I will be pretty pissed if someone takes Prelude away from me. Adding pressure into the mix does no good, even you know that >_<
  24. I replied with a PM. I'm pushing myself to be as far back in the game as possible, but at this point, Kyle (TMNT) and Matt (Sonic CD) are of top priority. I will definitely have something by September.
  25. Yeah, the deal with Square is pretty much the reason why I don't think I'm gonna host my usual "video-perspective-with-game-footage-spliced-in" for this particular project. But I can assure you there will be something
