$200 credit on purchase of a ps3 - no joke!
StarZander replied to prophetik music's topic in General Discussion
I have a VISA debit card, that I pay a yearly fee just to possess, but that sum is so small it's not even noticeable (about $15 every year). I guess the fee might be bigger if it's a credit card... From all the news I've seen, heard and read the US seem to be one of the countries who are worst off in this world wide financial crisis. Are all these loans/debts and need for credit scores the biggest reasons for this? -

I don't really know anything at all about American credit policies, but where I live having used no credit cards is a GOOD thing. The more you use them, the smaller the chance is that you might get a big loan for a house. To me that feels more logical, but I can see both systems working. Using credit here is very rare, and I can't understand how it is to always have debt. And from what I've heard, a lot of people actually use credit for everything, and then just pay back a small amount of it? How does the credit card companies survive on this? Or is it just a false rumor? I'm just curious. -
Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening: Threshold of a Dream - History
StarZander replied to Aetherius's topic in Projects
There are several remixes on this site that already use SFX from the games, for example the Zelda 64 song Anthem of a Misguided Youth by chthonic. So it should be alright. -
Haha, they were pretty good. Another brilliant comic is this one: http://garfieldminusgarfield.net/ Such a simple idea, yet so funny!

I still prefer my Opera 10 alpha (super fastness!), but Safari is really climbing my favorites list with this update. I'm looking forward to testing CSS3 stuff. I won't be using it in my developing though, since cross-browser compliance is still a virtue of mine. But maybe I'll add some user agent checks, and give safari 4-users some easter eggs... EDIT: Also nice to see Safari 4 as the second browser I've ever seen pass the Acid3 test with a 100% score (Opera 10 does this).

Can someone tell me what's up with this sword?
StarZander replied to Thin Crust's topic in General Discussion
Actually, as someone explained earlier, the gunblade has a muzzle which is a bit impractical, but can be used if mastered. You see, if you slash and then in the middle of it fire the gun, it should technically hit the opponent. This is what the gunblade does, or should do at least. I thought it seemed obvious at first, but at the very least it's plausible. Here a some other examples of real gunblades: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pistol_sword Also, the gunblade is badass. I want one. -

I tried the bigger file as well, but with annoying results. This time it had time to climb, but it just kept on climbing and it would probably have gone higher if it had been an even bigger file. 1. Sweden 2. 2,6 mb/s 3. 620 kb/s (just tried a couple of ocr mirrors)
-
At work: 1. Sweden 2. 2,2 mb/s 3. 450 kb/s Haven't tried at home yet, but those right there are good speeds. Great with another mirror!
-
Yeah, must have been cache related, if I was the only one who experienced it. It's gone now though, so all is well. Keep up the good work!
-
I get the same thing. Also, everything on OCR is very slooooooooow for me suddenly. I can hardly load a page completely.

Music and sound effects needed for flash game
StarZander replied to StarZander's topic in General Discussion
Well, teh gaming engine is pretty much complete, we just need to make some levels, add some more graphics and music, and then it's done. So, on a percentage... 70% done. I won't post the link to the game publicly though, but I can show it to people who PM me. -
Hey there, Me and a friend of mine are working on a flash game, and we are in dire need of background music and sound effects. The game itself is kind of a sneaking/action/puzzle game, so that's pretty much the kind of music we need. We might also be able to license this game, and if we do, the composer will get a piece of the cake as well. If we don't get anything though, then neither do you. So, if you feel you're up to it, then PM me and maybe link to something you've made before, or just talk about what you think you could do for us. I'll tell you more about the game in my reply. I hope to hear from some of you!

Which Media Player/Codec Pack do you use?
StarZander replied to SwordBreaker's topic in General Discussion
For me it's iTunes for music, and K-Lite codec pack with Media Player Classic for video. I haven't found anything it can't run. I even got it to run corrupt files. Not well, but they would at least start! -

Oh my god, the BLOOM! Nice though. -
Grattis på födelsedagen, Mattias! Seriously, it's all going down hill now. You leave the blissful teens, and embark on a journey that's pretty much the same, except more responsibility. But also, booze! Congrats, you little devil you.

Don't worry about the website, I'm putting it together. If you have more rainy/moody pictures I can try and incorporate them though. I'm going to try some stuff with this one. -

Super Metroid: Reserve Tank ~VARIAtions~ Released
StarZander replied to DarkeSword's topic in General Discussion
I've added three more mirrors now, so we can all stop using up all of DarkeSwords bandwidth. I've been listening to all the songs for a while, and I must say I can't grow tired of them. They are all really great, and I'm glad I got to atleast help out on this project. Great job everyone! -
Congratulations! Enjoy life.

OCR01723 - Mega Man 3 "The Passing of the Blue Crown"
StarZander replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
This song is truly incredible. I've been listening to it many times over, and it really just sweeps me off my feet every time. I've been looking for something like this for my remake of the intro from Megaman 2 (I know it's not the right song for it, but the blue bomber awesomeness just fits it perfectly), so maybe I should just get cracking on that... Great work all of you!
