  1. Does anybody remember the free Maestro series of soundfonts? I can't seem to find them anymore and I am in dire need of a realistic clarinet soundfont because the ones I have just don't do the trick. If anybody could locate or perhaps send me the Maestro Clarinet soundfont, I would be very very grateful.
  2. I hope all of you (non) idiots read the commentary and realised the song was played live. I like. This song is still good. I don't know why people question it getting on to the site even with the sound quality. THis is a submission by three different game music creators.
  3. This song is absolutely beautiful, and once it gets to the prelude wiht the melody, a shiver went up my spine. Good stuff as having to play all that takes much talent. Your arrangement, not conservative in my opinion, is five stars. There's nothing really that I find to drag on or anything that seems boring. Everything just contributes to the emotion that you're trying to portray, and I think this is a pure success if you're trying to get the fanboys' shirt collars wet with tears. Good stuff.
  4. This ReMix is awesome. It's very chill and sounds very professional. It's even more awesome to know it was recorded by three different game music composers and subbmitted to OCR. Cool stuff, as we appreciate you guys.
  5. I just recently posted the arrangement on SibeliusMusic.com. You can listen to it and print it out right from here... http://www.sibeliusmusic.com/cgi-bin/show_score.pl?scoreid=55070 . Thanks for all the emails I've receieved, and even more thanks to Estradasphere, who have created such an awesome arrangement. I love you guys. Thank you so much for doing this. I gotta give this to my band teacher first thing monday morning at jazz band.
  6. This sounds very professional. Everything sounds real, and the synths blend in and don't distract my ears from the message you're trying to send. I guess I shouldn't expect anything less from someone who knows so much in terms of musical theory. Good, chill stuff. Production is A grade.
  7. JESUS CHRIST! WHY HAVEN'T I HEARD THIS SONG? HOWCOME NOBODY HAS MENTIONED HTIS MIX TO ME?! This is the first REAL non-synthesized jazz mix on OCR that I've heard, and this is some real skill. The sax and bass player have some amazing improvisation. Great arrangement, all the players really can swing. Me being in a jazz band, it's nice to finally have a jazz song with a feel of swing on OCR. Good stuff, I'm really excited. This stays on my playlist for a long time.
  8. Haha, this is hella sweet man. I love the bassline. If I made this song I would've changed one of the chords in the melody. But this rocks. I like how you also got the chozo ruins theme in there too. Hell, this is awesome. I like the whole atmosphere because it feels like the game, just with a less threatenting feel and more of a kick some butt feel.
  9. OSHIT. Sorry Larry OJI, I am no longer appalled by the show. W(hen)TF did he play your WIPS? Post-show? Damn you and all your CC songs that will forever and only be WIPs. That's funny cuz it's true. Well, not funny. I should get to work on those.
  10. He played my CHrono Cross wip. He's already played Set Sail like twice dude.
  11. Well, I have to say that you've made a patriotic choice to join the navy, and I am glad for your integrity for even making the decision, as it will only increase through boot camp. Good luck then when you go man. Thanks a lot for setting this whole thing up, and not just letting it die but assigning a new leader to keep it goin. And thanks a lot Zeality for agreeing to take over the controls later on as it will keep the project binded together.
  12. This is freakin' cool. Good job Star. I always love your stuff, especially like Pillar of Salt. Your creativity and ability to translate it into sweet tunes is something a lot of people want. I love the beginning bassline goin on, and the heavy panning later on. Good stuff.
  13. Hey guys; I've been really busy with school, swimming, and homework. I couldn't really pull out a wip for this one. I know I didn't meet the deadline, and I doubt I'll really be able to produce anything good in the future, so if anybody wants to take my song I'll be glad. I'll still do it though if nobody wants to.
  14. Congradulations on such a BADASS ReMix. Seriously, the drums never get old, and sound mean. The bassline=tight and creative, not boring like a lot of people tend to do . You are awesome at recorder, cannot deny that. Cool string hits. No complaints.
  15. I'll gladly take the song "End of Time", and I think you're assuming the song "End of Time" by mentioned "Brink of Time"^^^^^.
  16. Hey, can we all post links to whatever free soundfonts we're using? Cuz I sorta formatted and lost all my soundfonts except squidfont and florestan.
  17. OH sweet; I got accepted. I didnt think I would be for not posting a longer version
  18. Cool! I like where it's going towards the end of the song (actually going into the theme that the audition is on). Only suggestion I really have is to improve the mixing. Other than that, very peppy and clean. What did you use for the brass? Thanks. I used SAM brass, can be found here: http://www.projectsam.com What other libraries did you use? I figured pretty much everyone would be using soundfonts. Squidfont plus Fluid, Realfont GM sets and various single-instrument soundfonts from Hammersound. I cannot use gigasamples, so I converted those demo sets to simple samples as well. Ohman, these samples are wonderful.
  19. Wow, this is awesome. I can totally see this being an opener. Like a helicopter cam running across a vast mountain range and slowly zooming in to the plaza where Chrono's house and stuff are located, and the title "Chrono Trigger" in like a Passion of the Christ font.
  20. I like. The chords are of the original, and this song still gave me the tingle of the original. This is a pretty awesome WIP. Edit: JESUS, awesome interpretaiton of Frog's theme. Hell, good job on the whole thing. Are these all free samples?
  21. I really enjoyed Philharmonic Suite I, because I was young and had never heard a good orchestral rendition of FF7 music. But now, I'm sort of...er...as Jack from the Jack in the Box Commercial (with the frenchy) would say, "Eh...". There are a lot of cool ideas, nice snare rolls, well, samples overall. But I agree with Jared on the point that there wasn't really enough dynamic alteration. However, I guess when you actually view this on a scale of three pieces, this can be considered as the climactic piece, where all out consecutive loudness is justified. But it's not really tickling my fancy. I enjoy the quality and technical production, but I've heard some pretty awesome stuff that surpasses this from you before. Sorry if people get mad at my post or something, or mad at Jared's post, well, not really sorry if the madness contains "YOU SUCK OMFG U DONT APPRECIATE GODOD ORHCETLRA." Btw, I do enjoy listening to this. EDIT: I'm starting to like this arrangement more and more as I listen to it. I think my only gripe would just be the lack of dynamic change.
  22. Here's my crappy WIP that i haven't worked onf or a week: http://www.soundclick.com/bands/1/blizihizakemusic.htm The top song on the songlist. I'm gonnna redo it though, since I just formatted my comp and I'm reinstalling my crap, and I didn't really like what I came up with.
  23. Take your time. It's a three-week stage, and you still have over two weeks left. Nobody's rushing you to hurry. If what you meant, though, is that you'd rather use non-free soundfonts, then I can understand. Don't belittle yourself, though. I'm sure it'll be great. No; I always work with free soundfonts. I just accidentally made it sound boring. Btw Tyler your song is awesome.
  24. I'll have a lil WIP coming, though it's not good as Id like it to be.
