  1. The main problem you WILL have is that the frequency response on the monitors (as you have noted) is not great in the low end. You will miss a lot of boom and rumble since it cuts off at 53Hz. I had the same thing with my yamaha monitors. I use the KRK RP-10s powered sub and it compliments it perfectly. Using a random consumer sub generally is a bad way to go (in my experience) and you would be better off going with something a little more professional.
  2. In all fairness, you clearly have no idea how the ad industry works/has worked if that shocks you to your core . Keep in mind, that is MAYBE 10% of the total budget they have to spend on the whole production. Just think about the production costs for a VG, even a small one.
  3. While that's a romantic sentiment Anso, the under cutting that goes on in the music industry is ridiculous these days. Advertising agencies are paying only a couple hundred bucks today for music on national TV spots when they used to pay anywhere between $20,000 - $100,000 in the past. The studio I work for has done more demos on spec than demos that pay in the last year, and we created the Budwiser frogs for God's sake. I defy someone to tell me that the game industry is much different. I'm not one to preach, but this is one issue that I don't easily shy away from. Talent in this town, country, and world means little these days and producers are always on the lookout for the bottom dollar when it comes to music.
  4. Try to make a living in the industry for any amount of time, and you'll see exactly why
  5. So if you're Mexican or live in Mexico, you, by definition, should be in a Mariachi band or be really close with the members of one...... Man, I'm not trying to be a douche, but come on. You're idea is interesting, but your request comes across as idiotic. Now, I'm not Hispanic, but it also comes across a little racist as well.
  6. Yeah man, Seph and I are sprucing up the instrumental track and adding lots of new elements to the original before we start the VOX mastering. The vocals you hear in there right now is Dan himself and to my understanding, that will all be changing soon too . Thanks for all the comments everyone. It's helping this track really take form!!
  7. I'm really enjoying the groove here. As the song isn't completed, I won't really comment on the arrangement quite yet but I will say that this feels really smooth! I don't know if this would totally ruin your creative direction, but I'm hearing boatloads of Latin influences in this and some nice, soft, smooth Latin sounding drums could really make this track super sweet. Just an idea!
  8. QFE!!!! Seriously guys, my role in this was tiny in comparison to Tensei. However, I echo my joy that everyone is enjoying it!
  9. Good call man. Check out this link with the newest version of the instrumental. I think it has much more "snap" as you say, and it has some pimpin' new instruments in it! www.tweexmusic.com/indigo/indigo_wip2.mp3
  10. QFE. If the percussion/drums where just a little more prominent with a little more hi end, I think this could sound really really cool! It reminds me of something that BT would have done for Binary Universe.
  11. I don't know if seph is gonna post updates, but after doing a little work on it, this bad boy is starting to sound like total hawtness!
  12. Very cool idea bro! I might just have to sub something !
  13. Awesome. I'll look forward to hearing the interview. Andrew is such a sexy beast!
  14. Brad.....what a douche nozzle......... Who loves you, baby? Have a great day!!!
  15. That's the damn truth! I've never looked back since . Thanks mate, the drums were a lot of fun to work with and I think they turned out decently in the end! Rashad, you are too kind as always! The swelling stuff was a very different direction for me to go in with this mix. I'm glad you enjoyed it! SHHHH!!!! You're going to give it all away. And if it's true, then I just replied to my own post, meaning that I'm talking to myself....... Glad you liked the piece mate!! It's all about the textures, baby! I'm glad you enjoyed the track, mate! I was hoping, at best, that it would have two scoops, but to hear that it has three....wow I only hope that if we meet someday, that you're not going to "wanna kick my ass" !! Thanks for the comments mate! Well Vinnie, there's no accounting for taste . That synth is one of the sounds that people either love or hate and truthfully, I'm not even sure why. I was getting similar response in the WIP phase, so I just had to had take the plunge, as it were. However, I'm happy that you found other areas that you enjoyed in the track! Thanks for the kind words, Brian. The melody interpretation is a little liberal and, in reality, it borrows a lot of ideas/melodic themes that bLiNd did in his original! Haha, my first attempt at a "synth solo" and that section is precisely the section that you didn't prefer. I can certainly see why. even listening to it now, I can see a few things in there I would change next time around! I VERY much appreciate the honesty, Martin! I am very happy that you enjoyed the mix! Thanks a lot, Brook. The original has always been favorite theme of mine, and having the chance to reinterpret it and have so many people listen to it is quite an honor and privilege! You can certainly expect more craziness from me in the future! Once again, thanks for all the comments! It really is an honor that I don't deserve! Cheers all!!
  16. My music is available for any step that wishes to be done! Here are my remixes and if you would like any of my original stuff, let me know and I can provide a link with all the tracks! Cheers mate!
  17. Awesomeness. Can't want to see what will happen with it!
  18. I wanted to shoot a quick request in here for the user profile pages. Something I seem to remember from the past user profiles would be a link to the persons Remixer page (if applicable). Maybe it exists right now and I just don't see it, but if it's not there on the user profile page, it would be spiffy if it could be added. I see that there is a tab on Remixer profiles to the person's user profile, just not the other way around.
  19. Since the rollover pop up text for the picture says "ocr" I'm guessing it is a rip
  20. Thanks to everyone for the comments! Experience or no experience, that was a solid review mate; thanks a lot! Much love Mattias! I have never been a theme writer, but rather a mood setter. I hope you're in the mood ..... Cheers mate. I highly recommend the source tune. It's definitely a favorite of mine! Man, I'm happy to hear that you feel like the original has not been completely butchered! The "crunchy" bits were a new experiment of mine and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Happy b-day mate!!! You should know that I engineered the release of this mix so that Riccardo's b-day would be celebrated in style . Have a happy 21 and thanks for the kind words! Dude, that's the truth. Your track was simple, but powerful to me! Thanks for the inspiration in the first place !! Absolutely mate. This song/style isn't for everyone and I totally understand wanting to hear more of the main riff. Some songs just have it a little more buried in the textures and dynamics than others. Thanks for popping in and leaving a review! Building stronger themes is always a challenge I face and I'll certainly remember this for next time! Glad to hear the "rockoutage" was sufficient for you, Bryant . I tried to produce copious amounts of rockage and I'm glad to see that it may have worked! Thanks duder! Soon, my love, soon . Thanks for all the great comments everyone. They are all greatly appreciated!!
  21. Where the hell did you get those numbers? If you're guessing, you're WAY off. Its more around $40,000 - $80,000 a DAY. According to your numbers it is $60,000 an hour, and that's not even close. Yes, it's expensive, but it's no where near that bad.
  22. It's under Applications > Utilities > Audio MIDI Setup Who loves you, baby?
