  1. ModPlug Tracker Wow, that was just low. I'm sure he used something much more advanced. Perhaps RushJet1 gave him a hand.
  2. Shnabubula, you are crazy! But I'm lovin' it! The mixture of the two patch types is excellent. 10/10
  3. Excellent!!! This mix motivates me to start taking piano lessons again. 10/10
  4. meccaneer, you are a funny man! Nix, the mix is excellent, this post will be edited for a more detailed review.
  5. Wow! Koelsch1 made it to OCR! This is interesting news! Alot of VGMixers, both once horrible moving to the big-tops, and top 20 remixers have been on here in the last couple a years! Who will be next? BlackPerson? Gwylim? Reece Riley The Terminator? Oh man! I'm keeping my eye on this site more often! Anyway, let me review the mix. This is some very interesting orchestral ambience. It should have been featured in the movie but it was definately worth a listen. The tuba, strings and violas, although not excellent in sample quality, but which that accompany the sax, are excellent sequenced followers and players (as they play off certain lead parts) of the star, the saxophone. We need more mixes like this. Good job, Koelsch! 8/10
  6. I've been waiting ever since I found OC ReMix for a Rayman mix. This song is great. It always gives me a feel of almost being inside the game. The beats are tight and human, and the composition pays homage to the original tunage with the same pizzacato riff you find in most of the game levels. Excellent job! 10/10
  7. I remember this game; every time I watched someone play it, they'd be so addicted to it, I'd never get to have a crack at it even if I ask. The original tune for this track was really catchy. I'd always hear myself humming it after watching my buddies play the game, and even never letting me get a taste of SDD. The remix itself has some really tight drumwork while being honourable to the Japanese composer's roots using synthetic key type synths, some ethnic patches, and very artistic riffs with all instruments. Didn't like the distorted kick coming in though, but the beginning beat gave me a Ziwtra kinda feel. Speaking of which, where the heck is that guy? Will he submit more tracks? Let's find out in the near future of "A-Ron's OC ReMix Review and Watch"... ... No? Too soon? Anway, love this song. 9.5/10
  8. The thing is though parts of the genre of jazz is random. People who play saxes and trumpets freestyle their notation to give it feeling and dynamics. It may not sound realistic when it comes to the composition aspects, but it still has something there that touched me. 7/10 Keep it up!
  9. Uh..huh. I'm into this considering it's artificial. I've always loved how Mazedude blends chiptunes with actual music. Check out his arrangement of Commander Keen 5.
  10. I'm liking this remix. The piano and padwork is amazing. Pixie's vocals definately get the high marks here as her voice gives the track high dynamics. Although I'm not big on shinningsamurai's vocals, he certainly sounds like the Moffats' lead vocalist, who can sing decently. It's amazing what kind of things can churn up at a sleep-over. Great job! 9/10
  11. po, you're an inspiration to many of the hip-hop amateur remixers here. 11/10 Keep em' coming! EDIT: James Brown inspiration on the clav? It fits nicely.
  12. Yup, some great stuff right here. 9.8/10 -0.2 for Title. I just edited by ID3 Tag so it would say Stupid Darn Vehicle. No big deal though...
  13. I must say Duel of Fates is a great piece of music which made me enjoy this one alot. Good job. 9/10
  14. Shnabubula is probably one of the most abstract remixers in this community as a whole. Shael Riley comes in second. This piece certainly gives me that horror film soundtrack kind of feel, but it has beauty (and interesting humour) to it. It's not a favorite but it's unique, which is what will get me to listen to it every so often. THE VOICES! THE VOICES! Make them stop! 9.5/10
  15. It is a good song, I agree. I do think the word should be substituted as well, so I agree to an extent, but please...send a letter to every single hip-hop company instead of a poor Egyptian who actually produces good music who hasn't even made it as big as 50 Cent or Dr. Dre? PS Check out my review of River City Rap by joecam and crew, and realize you made a serious mistake that's similiar to mine. Never attack the hype if you want to avoid embarrassment. Again, I do agree with you. There must be some other way to counter this "rap" culture. I'm still trying to find an answer though. If anyone has advise, give it to me.
  16. This is the sickest remix I've ever heard. You two should work together more often! 10/10
  17. I'll be nice. Congratulations, Mr. Cammissa, on creating such an interesting project based on a great soundtrack from a very very strange game. I enjoyed listening to, and briefly scanning the torrent since I don't officially have a connection at home, but most of it I heard is dang fine in terms of the hip-hop stuff. My only advice I can give you boys is that your raps can be more focused on one particular subject and leaning a little further away than cliche'd freestyling rants (don't be discouraged, pal, I'm working on this improvement myself while in Masters Commision. Once I get a better host for my tunes, we'll see what's going down on my side). I'm saying this regardless of the explicit content found in this good remix...so don't take it personally, guys. It's a good song, MN beats are tight, but other than that...not much else I can say without being biased to my love for Christian rap. 8/10 Peace out, AP
  18. The best collaboration by two of my favorite remixers and influences as a musician. Two big thumbs up!
  19. It was fulfilled beforehand. What you meant to say is you've been dyig to hear a proffesionally made and well arranged remix of Battle 1 for years. Well, Mazedude certainly put my work to shame. On a positive note, you've inspired me to try and improve Novel Sound as a cover tune for my future album. It will definately be posted in this thread later as a tribute to this rocking good song! Great song. Excellent source material. Two thumbs up!!! 9/10
  20. I'm having one of those "Saturday Night Fever" vibes when I listen to this. Brings back that Bee Gees disco rythum with a little hint of J-Pop and Abba. Good work, AB and Steph! 10/10
  21. I've decided not to critisize any more rap mixes in the VG Music Mix and OCR community since I'm tired of starting benign uproars but let me say one thang; you guys are certainly livin' up to your labullz.
  22. If Nobou decided to ask someone to sup up the Decisive Battle Themes, this right here is exactly what it would sound like. 10/10 hands down, pressed, and shaken together!
  23. I love the arrangement, but the samples can be a little more human, or the reverb could be adjusted to create a bit more realism. Yeah, I need to work on sound choices myself. Other than that, the song has me hooked. 8/10
