Hello! This is the first remix I'm posting here, and the relative lack of Touhou remixes on OCR does bewilder me a bit. Now, this is a somewhat old project I decided to bring up again in order to improve my skills and, of course, contribute to OCR. I took the final boss theme from Touhou 6 (Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil) and tried to give it a dreamy, chill interpretation. As if Remilia — a vampire — was ready to get a good morning's sleep after a hard day's night. Original Theme Remix — 1st Version While lurking, I noticed many remixers don't usually preserve the iterations of their works on their wip threads. So while I could more or less understand how their progress went, I couldn't quite listen to it, and that kinda sucks. So I want to catalog my improvements in this thread so maybe this helps someone else in the future. Now, I would really appreciate feedback on this piece. From reading and learning here, I could more or less self-diagnose some potential problems: The arrangement doesn't feel as perky or as rich as it could. The strings, in particular, are kinda dull. The song doesn't flow all too well, I guess. Which would be fine — the original isn't exactly smooth either — but the vibe I'm going for needs the song to be butter so that the long repetition at the end feels satisfying and ~trance-like~ rather than just, well, repetitive. The mixing is bad, feels weak and thin. The usage of stereo is poor, so it all sound muddy and not as rich as a interpretation like that requires. The percussion needs a lot more weight, but then again so does everything else. So this is what I got. Just because I think I can see problems doesn't mean I have the slightest clue as to how to solve them. But even after all this, I hope you enjoy it!

A WIP of this remix, originally this was a jazz quartet version, but it was getting dated (and albeit not that good) Now, a jazz trio + hip hop elements, this melody is fantastic. Use of block chords in the beginning, followed by some close voiced chord movement by the second chorus. Going to work the arrangement into a solo section and then back to the head. Hey guys. I'm completely new to remixing and would love a bit of feedback to help me find my feet! Here's something I'm working on right now: It's my first time experimenting with samples and I've set them in front of a bongo and marimba cover of the Crash Bandicoot 3 - Warped theme. It still sounds a bit amateur to me but I have no idea what exactly is giving it that feel - hopefully a few of you might be able to point out anything obvious? Source material:

Another video game music remix of the Sinistral Battle Theme (Battle #3) I'm currently working at. It will take some further time for the finished version - but I think it's already pretty nice. UPDATE: Found a version I'm happy enough with for my YouTube channel, link below updated. This idea popped into my head the other day, and have had an enjoyable few days putting it together. To be honest, feel a little stuck with it. Not too sure about some of the melody instruments & worried it's a little too conventional. That said, I messed around with it for a while and this direction ended up feeling right. Interested to hear your thoughts! Here's the [UPDATED] remix: Here's the original: And here's the kind of Vangelis / Bladerunner vibe I was thinking of (not directly similar!): Thanks for listening! Really value your feedback as always.

Hey everyone! Here's a Zelda remix I completed recently, centered mainly around the Ballad of the Wind Fish and Kakariko Village. This remix is meant to be a musical representation of Link's Awakening's ending - a blend of the bittersweet and joyful feelings Link might have had at the end of that journey. I also wanted to achieve that sense of being "at sea" that many of Wind Waker's tracks evoke. There's also a touch of Wind Waker's Outset Island and Ocarina's Zelda's Lullaby mixed in, but only briefly. This first draft is technically "done" and I'm planning to submit it for review eventually, but I wanted to start off by getting some feedback from the community. Thanks for listening! (P.S. - I've got each of the Instruments of the Sirens represented in here, somewhat loosely in certain cases. See if you can pick them all out!)

In developing as a musician, I'm trying to start doing new things - this includes longer practice times, broadening of repertoire, and of course, spending more time thinking about arranging. I've been reading an awful lot of sheet music lately, something I desperately need. Hopefully this arrangement (not yet done) reflects that in some way. This song seemed like an obvious choice for a jazz rendition considering it's already structured around fourths and seventh chords. I'm not sure if I will get this recorded live, but it is possible. It would be really nice. Let me know of any feedback! Still early in production, will be a while before I finish it, as there are some more pressing projects to work on. (while I put my xenogears remix on the back burner for now)is there any way I could make these fit together as a mournful orchestral Ballad(4/4 or 6/8, 60-88 BPM) I need a collaborator that would be willing to pass Midi back and forth source 1 & 2: Sources 3 & 4: Figaro Castle: Coin of fate: the plan for the ending section: 1: 2: 3: Anybody interested?

This is a collaboration between myself and Wassup Thunder, which started as playing around with some midis. I can't really claim that we're breaking new ground here, but it was fun to put together a mix of my personal favorite track from Megaman Zero. Made with Soundtrap (free website :S), but we do entertain the idea of making this good enough to submit. Wassup Thunder says: "Just hope to contribute to the underappreciated ost of Megaman Zero. Above all else, it was a crash course XD." Uh, an analysis? Got Crash, Zero's theme, and a little Neo Arcadia thrown in there. And an explody crash noise. Enjoy if you can, gimme feedback if you want! Mayhap some part is good?

This is an actual remix and I'm sharing it. It's a Final Fantasy themed mixture that took many creative liberties but I think the result is cool. Tell me what you guys think and what I can improve on. It's done in my signature style and I'm ready for criticism. Read the description in the link and Enjoy. Three sources. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AVxUE_6z984 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQwQnEfbh0U

Hi peeps This is a completed arrangement of 3 songs from Lufia and the Fortress of Doom, completely reharmonized and partwritten by hand over 6-7 months, to fit the theme of "Deliverance" from pain. Also a nod to the fact that these are "Door of Journey", "Departures" and,"To A New World". It is a sad but also hopeful tune. Yes, life is tough, but it can get better, and we can find small victories in the immense shadows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rGUb_K-Uac4&feature=youtu.be If you like please subscribe to my youtube channel as I'll be posting more remixes, music theory analysis, maybe some break downs of video game songs theory wise, maybe some game reviews and such, and some original music. I am going to be submitting this to OCRemix later as I'm quite proud of the COMPOSITION. however, I'm not going to submit this version because I want to practice guitar and bass more and re record next year so I get a professional sound. I did my best, but I just want this to be jaw droppingly good with the playing. At that point I will also be re-engineering it too, but I think the mix is pretty decent, for me at least XD. The different changes in dynamics between instruments and parts forced me to learn automation, so that was good lol

This started out as something totally different, but ended up being a retro 80s take on the classic Corneria theme from Starfox (or Starwing in my case), based on very happy memories watching Stranger Things & enjoying the soundtrack. Straightforward stuff but playing around with the atmosphere was great fun! Would love to hear your thoughts. EDIT: Second update to the track. Good enough for my YouTube channel but keen to hear your thoughts before submitting to OCR! Here's the track: Here's the original: And here's the Stranger Things theme tune, which the track isn't based on but gives a good idea of the feel. Thanks for listening! Let me know what you think.

Hello OCRemix! I made a megaman 2 remix of the password theme. I got the idea from my tutor who's helping me out with all things music theory and production. I thought I would also post it here, and see if any of you would enjoy it or have some advice for a budding remixer/composer. What I was going for is an improv session with the source material while trying to go into different places as well with it. Thank you for anyone that reads this post, and hope you have a wonderful weekend. WARNING: I haven't mixed and mastered yet as I'm very green in those areas so please take that into consideration. Here is the original version and my version. You only need to listen to the first 5 seconds of the source material. Thank you again!

=) The King is back, baby. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1j5rnXW_eRVtOYCsmqzfVOq3j3xm5dxng I made this in Fruity Loops Studio with Super Audio Cart. For reasons unknown to me the fade in/fade out/pitch bending does not work within Kontakt for FLS. Tell me what you think and if I should remake more stuff.
