  1. This is just a tribute to one of the best songs i've heard on a video game, ever! Original song composed by Rob Hubbard, a genius composer and muscician, over the last 40 years. The song that i cover it's the one that appears on "Skate Or Die II" tittles theme stage for NES console Drums were made on "Guitar Pro 5" and edited on "Fruity Loops 7" with VST "EZDrummer MetalMachine" Guitars were recorded on "Vegas 11" trough BOSS GT10 pedalboard. Hope you enjoy it, and greetings from Argentina. Guidorch Link: Original song: Skate Or Die II - Tittle Theme
  2. Have been meaning to do more medieval-style remixes since my Halo theme a couple of years back, and the tune that worked best in my head was the wonderful Steam Gardens theme from Mario Odyssey (plays during Wooded Kingdom). As ever, Logic Pro X's string sounds are a challenge, and there is no acceptable solo violin sound for a lead instrument (was aiming for a vielle or medieval fiddle type sound), so I was searching for an alternative lead instrument for a while... before ending on something that may or may not be my first step towards inevitable mental decline. You'll hear what I mean pretty quickly... Here's the remix, complete with a bit of photoshopped Bayeux Tapestry, which I posted on my YouTube channel yesterday: And here's the original, excellent theme (might not jump out at you immediately in the medieval version!): It's all done fairly tongue-in-cheek and meant to raise a chuckle - but I think especially towards the second half, I was fairly pleased with the overall feel & arrangement. Would love your thoughts! Thanks
  3. Hoo-boy. Here we go. So this is my first post to OCR. I'm very, VERY new to remixing and I'd like some general feedback on this track I've been working on. I'd eventually like this to be something akin to what you'd hear on GameChops or Radio Cutman which is to say, a downtempo, lo-fi, hip-hoppy remix a la @FUSION42's Mabe Chillage (which I absolutely adore). I only have maybe half of the track hammered out so far (about up to the chorus), but I'd like some feedback on it before I go any further. Soundcloud link
  4. Hey guys, it's been a minute since I did posted anything to the board. Working on this track and want to get feedback/ideas/critiques on the arrangement. This song is my current canvas for practicing some music theory stuff, but my ear isn't the best catching when harmonies and chords are 'off'. This is half the track so far; and the last 10 seconds of the song is just placeholder vomit to close what I have off. Appreciate it everyone!
  5. Whats up everyone! So I did 3 vocal remixes I wanted to share. The Donkey Kong one I am wondering if I could submit since I did change the original beat a bit. Hope you enjoy! Wisp Circuit from Team Sonic Racing (Vocal Remix) Aquatic Ambiance from Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze (Vocal Remix) Beneath the Mask from Persona 5 (Vocal Remix)
  6. Hello all! This is my first attempt at remixing something from a game. I had this idea while watching Hbomberguy's DK64 stream from a while ago and threw this together. The transitions are clumsy, the drum part is thrown together haphazardly, and I have zero working knowledge of EQ or balance, but I'm proud of it. Someday I might record it with live instruments. I'm happy to hear constructive feedback, and if anyone can direct me to resources for me to learn more about music production, it'd be greatly appreciated.
  7. Hey folks, here's a big ol' piece of music that took far too long to do. I learned a fair bit on how to approach composing/mixing big orchestral pieces like this, especially when there are synths/guitars layered in on top, though I imagine there's plenty to be improved. Let me know what you think, cheers! Chrono Trigger Orchestral Remix - World Revolution / Final Battle / Main Theme
  8. This has been on my to-do list for over a year, since my Ghibli Orchestra arrangement of Objection! (2016) - found it hard to pin down the right direction! I think this is less Ghibli-esque than that piece, but partly because every time I tried a new angle or rhythm it felt like the character had moved too far away from the original. Thought I needed to somehow keep the pace or at least the sensation of pace, while giving it a little more variety in harmony & tone + piling on the power when needed. Breakthrough came with Logic Pro X's new String Studio (hallelujah!), but I've been so deep in the piece for so long it's hard to really step back and see whether it's where it needs to be! Would love your thoughts on it. Here's the orchestral rearrangement (after a couple of updates today): And here's the original: Cheers!
  9. the original idea came from this remix: https://ocremix.org/remix/OCR01746 Sources: I'm Sooo Salty after Episode Ardyn. thoughts on the remix?
  10. Hi y'all. I made a visualizer type video I intend to use for uploading my remixes to YT. I already know one flaw, but see if you can catch it. Or if you catch something I haven't. Come critique it to bits, help me make it better! -- Most recent test:
  11. The pressure of working on a track from your favorite composer ever ! Couldn't figure out a good way to harmonize the vocals and my lack of knowledge regarding how to write for an orchestra make the string and choir parts perfectible. This, plus other stuff here and there, will hopefully be fixed when I'll start recording everything with more talented and knowledgeable comrades. All of which makes your feedback and advice more than is welcome to produce a cover worthy of this fantastic and obscure song. Original: Remix:
  12. I couldn't find any real recreations of this on the internet, so I remade the entire track from by ear. https://soundcloud.com/map3music/agent-xzx-spectrum-remix original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOZ8rbmlWrk
  13. ok I know this is kinda barebones at the moment(no plugin mixing applied yet), but I was hoping for maybe a little guidance (just a little). I love the source, but the loop isn't really that long and I am trying to figure out ways to flesh this out to at least the 3 or 4 minute range without it being too repetitive. Here is the source and here is my version, which is a bit faster with a higher octave range
  14. GAME: Goonies (NES/FC) TRACK: Alternate Level Theme Well, I'm back after another long slumber. It's been a while since I've created any music, so I thought I'd post this Goonies arrangement here before I make a video for it to post on my youtube channel. I made this in two days which is unusually fast for me. I am wondering if I should trust my ears or not. I originally used the flute VST that I have used in past mixes, however, it wasn't sitting well in the mix so I swapped it out for a couple of synth flutes. Some people may not like it, but I think it gives it more of an 80s feel which I like. Let me know if you think I bass and drums are at a good level or not. The concern is that I have a new setup now with different speakers and I'm not used how things sound on them. The original track. Arrangement
  15. Hello! I lost my password to my old account(Harmonicalifornia), but I had made this remix of a song from the old Robocop game on the Amstrad and Gameboy just recently.. Gameboy version I'm fond of the song much more so from a different game called SS13. One of the SS13 versions Anywho, mine is pretty basic; made some backing music on a keyboard and played lead using my Hohner diatonic Blues Harp in A and mixed it using Audacity. Enjoy! I figure it's pretty much complete as far as a remix could go, I'm self taught in all things music so I think the only real improvement I could make would be in re-recording it to mitigate the sound of pressing the keys on the keyboard but any and all feedback is appreciated! Thank you for your time!
  16. I've always liked this tune, and I put together something incorporating two ideas. Edit 4 25 19 Ok, so this is a rough section/rendition that I have posted at the bottom, I am mainly wondering about the "lead guitar". I don't know if it's up to par...besides that, I don't think the balance is quite right.. I am going to have/already have more than this: I am concerned about elec guitar lead...Thanks!:) Edit 4 27 19 I'm still wondering about the guitar mentioned above, but this time I have added an acoustic guitar/flute section at the beginning. That is me playing the flute here:) The timing is slightly off at the beginning...I now realize I had different drivers for playback and recording activated while recording the flute, and with baby, I have so little mic time Looking for feedback on this WIP. My goal is to expand on this idea, lengthen the tune, and have the guitar and flute playing together/question answer each other.
  17. I received a request to cover the Magus theme from Chrono Trigger. Here it is, with a suprise at the end!
  18. Lil something I've been cooking up. Let me know what you think, any feedback would be great. I'm quite sure I made it too long but I'm working on that part. Artist EchoGhost
  19. Hello guys, because Donkey Kong Country 2 is one of my favorite SNES games, i tried to make a remix from my favorite song called "Forest Interlude". I'm not completly happy with the result, so let me know what u think about it . UPDATE:
  20. I decided to import my older remix into FL Studio and see if I can make it better using proper VSTi's. The result is a more relaxing version which features some of Spitfire Audio LABS' free stuff (synth pads and frozen strings). It still needs some tweaking, and I'd like to get other people's opinion on the overall balance between the different sounds/layers (my ears are toast!). I'm definitely happy with the vibe of the piece though it would be nice if it were longer. Then again, longer might make it boring after a while. Things I'm already aware of: pads need smoother transitions and maybe some dynamics automation drum beat needs to be less robotic What do you think? Anything I'm missing? Previous version for reference:
  21. Since I have no moneys, Shreddage 3 Free just released, so here's what I've been doing with my life all day. It's out of time because I haven't gotten to that part yet, mainly just been playing around with different tones and stuff. ReMix: Crash Man's Bitchin' Ride
  22. Something I threw together. Sort of an electronic/hip hop sound to it. This was from the pool joust stage. All feedback welcome, especially in regards to mastering. Remix Will be happy to return the favor if you'd like - just reply with a link. Thanks - Marc
  23. This is a source I've been working on for probably the longest out of any of them. It's gone through hip hop, orchestral jazz, and now Gypsy jazz iterations. I'm gonna stick with the Gypsy jazz arrangement and take it to the end. Source: ReMix: Super Django Brothers
  24. This has gotta be one of the best source arrangements in the whole Zelda series. If my mix sounds good right now - don't fool yourself! You don't like my arrangement, you like the composition. So I'm giving this source some sweet lovin'. Source: ReMix: Zora Band v. 2: And One More For the Road v.3: Song for Brother Mikau v.4: Version 3 felt too muddy. Opted for a brighter sound, and less reverb. Added some limiting and very very tiny amounts of compression. Who Mixed This Chateau Romani?
