Hello all! This is my first attempt at remixing something from a game. I had this idea while watching Hbomberguy's DK64 stream from a while ago and threw this together. The transitions are clumsy, the drum part is thrown together haphazardly, and I have zero working knowledge of EQ or balance, but I'm proud of it. Someday I might record it with live instruments. I'm happy to hear constructive feedback, and if anyone can direct me to resources for me to learn more about music production, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Hey folks, here's a big ol' piece of music that took far too long to do. I learned a fair bit on how to approach composing/mixing big orchestral pieces like this, especially when there are synths/guitars layered in on top, though I imagine there's plenty to be improved. Let me know what you think, cheers! Chrono Trigger Orchestral Remix - World Revolution / Final Battle / Main Theme

This has been on my to-do list for over a year, since my Ghibli Orchestra arrangement of Objection! (2016) - found it hard to pin down the right direction! I think this is less Ghibli-esque than that piece, but partly because every time I tried a new angle or rhythm it felt like the character had moved too far away from the original. Thought I needed to somehow keep the pace or at least the sensation of pace, while giving it a little more variety in harmony & tone + piling on the power when needed. Breakthrough came with Logic Pro X's new String Studio (hallelujah!), but I've been so deep in the piece for so long it's hard to really step back and see whether it's where it needs to be! Would love your thoughts on it. Here's the orchestral rearrangement (after a couple of updates today): And here's the original: Cheers!

The pressure of working on a track from your favorite composer ever ! Couldn't figure out a good way to harmonize the vocals and my lack of knowledge regarding how to write for an orchestra make the string and choir parts perfectible. This, plus other stuff here and there, will hopefully be fixed when I'll start recording everything with more talented and knowledgeable comrades. All of which makes your feedback and advice more than is welcome to produce a cover worthy of this fantastic and obscure song. Original: Remix:

I couldn't find any real recreations of this on the internet, so I remade the entire track from by ear. https://soundcloud.com/map3music/agent-xzx-spectrum-remix original: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOZ8rbmlWrk

ok I know this is kinda barebones at the moment(no plugin mixing applied yet), but I was hoping for maybe a little guidance (just a little). I love the source, but the loop isn't really that long and I am trying to figure out ways to flesh this out to at least the 3 or 4 minute range without it being too repetitive. Here is the source and here is my version, which is a bit faster with a higher octave range

GAME: Goonies (NES/FC) TRACK: Alternate Level Theme Well, I'm back after another long slumber. It's been a while since I've created any music, so I thought I'd post this Goonies arrangement here before I make a video for it to post on my youtube channel. I made this in two days which is unusually fast for me. I am wondering if I should trust my ears or not. I originally used the flute VST that I have used in past mixes, however, it wasn't sitting well in the mix so I swapped it out for a couple of synth flutes. Some people may not like it, but I think it gives it more of an 80s feel which I like. Let me know if you think I bass and drums are at a good level or not. The concern is that I have a new setup now with different speakers and I'm not used how things sound on them. The original track. Arrangement

Hello! I lost my password to my old account(Harmonicalifornia), but I had made this remix of a song from the old Robocop game on the Amstrad and Gameboy just recently.. Gameboy version I'm fond of the song much more so from a different game called SS13. One of the SS13 versions Anywho, mine is pretty basic; made some backing music on a keyboard and played lead using my Hohner diatonic Blues Harp in A and mixed it using Audacity. Enjoy! I figure it's pretty much complete as far as a remix could go, I'm self taught in all things music so I think the only real improvement I could make would be in re-recording it to mitigate the sound of pressing the keys on the keyboard but any and all feedback is appreciated! Thank you for your time!

I've always liked this tune, and I put together something incorporating two ideas. Edit 4 25 19 Ok, so this is a rough section/rendition that I have posted at the bottom, I am mainly wondering about the "lead guitar". I don't know if it's up to par...besides that, I don't think the balance is quite right.. I am going to have/already have more than this: I am concerned about elec guitar lead...Thanks!:) Edit 4 27 19 I'm still wondering about the guitar mentioned above, but this time I have added an acoustic guitar/flute section at the beginning. That is me playing the flute here:) The timing is slightly off at the beginning...I now realize I had different drivers for playback and recording activated while recording the flute, and with baby, I have so little mic time Looking for feedback on this WIP. My goal is to expand on this idea, lengthen the tune, and have the guitar and flute playing together/question answer each other.

I received a request to cover the Magus theme from Chrono Trigger. Here it is, with a suprise at the end!

Lil something I've been cooking up. Let me know what you think, any feedback would be great. I'm quite sure I made it too long but I'm working on that part. Artist EchoGhost

I decided to import my older remix into FL Studio and see if I can make it better using proper VSTi's. The result is a more relaxing version which features some of Spitfire Audio LABS' free stuff (synth pads and frozen strings). It still needs some tweaking, and I'd like to get other people's opinion on the overall balance between the different sounds/layers (my ears are toast!). I'm definitely happy with the vibe of the piece though it would be nice if it were longer. Then again, longer might make it boring after a while. Things I'm already aware of: pads need smoother transitions and maybe some dynamics automation drum beat needs to be less robotic What do you think? Anything I'm missing? Previous version for reference:

This has gotta be one of the best source arrangements in the whole Zelda series. If my mix sounds good right now - don't fool yourself! You don't like my arrangement, you like the composition. So I'm giving this source some sweet lovin'. Source: ReMix: Zora Band v. 2: And One More For the Road v.3: Song for Brother Mikau v.4: Version 3 felt too muddy. Opted for a brighter sound, and less reverb. Added some limiting and very very tiny amounts of compression. Who Mixed This Chateau Romani?

Hello! This is the first remix I'm posting here, and the relative lack of Touhou remixes on OCR does bewilder me a bit. Now, this is a somewhat old project I decided to bring up again in order to improve my skills and, of course, contribute to OCR. I took the final boss theme from Touhou 6 (Embodiment of the Scarlet Devil) and tried to give it a dreamy, chill interpretation. As if Remilia — a vampire — was ready to get a good morning's sleep after a hard day's night. Original Theme Remix — 1st Version While lurking, I noticed many remixers don't usually preserve the iterations of their works on their wip threads. So while I could more or less understand how their progress went, I couldn't quite listen to it, and that kinda sucks. So I want to catalog my improvements in this thread so maybe this helps someone else in the future. Now, I would really appreciate feedback on this piece. From reading and learning here, I could more or less self-diagnose some potential problems: The arrangement doesn't feel as perky or as rich as it could. The strings, in particular, are kinda dull. The song doesn't flow all too well, I guess. Which would be fine — the original isn't exactly smooth either — but the vibe I'm going for needs the song to be butter so that the long repetition at the end feels satisfying and ~trance-like~ rather than just, well, repetitive. The mixing is bad, feels weak and thin. The usage of stereo is poor, so it all sound muddy and not as rich as a interpretation like that requires. The percussion needs a lot more weight, but then again so does everything else. So this is what I got. Just because I think I can see problems doesn't mean I have the slightest clue as to how to solve them. But even after all this, I hope you enjoy it!

Hey guys. I'm completely new to remixing and would love a bit of feedback to help me find my feet! Here's something I'm working on right now: It's my first time experimenting with samples and I've set them in front of a bongo and marimba cover of the Crash Bandicoot 3 - Warped theme. It still sounds a bit amateur to me but I have no idea what exactly is giving it that feel - hopefully a few of you might be able to point out anything obvious? Source material:
