CHz Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 This milestone mix will forever be remembered as a turning point in the history of OverClocked ReMix. Quote
Dark Vagabond Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Best April 1st song since Sierra Nevada Tan, and from one of the most "mind boggling" games ever created! Quote
Kizyr Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 ...was this part of some contest to create the largest ID3 tag possible? KF Quote
anosou Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 oshitthis actually passed the board? I find that offensive! Quote
Rozovian Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Cheetahmen II... ugliest game icon I've seen on ocr (so far). An in-game pic would probably be better... Anyway, bored with school stuff, this cheered me up this morning. Great style, great stuff, 'nuf said. Quote
Fishy Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 ReMixing Cheetahmanz is dangerous territory. You've got to live up to the extremely high standards of the mind blowingly awesome game, and theres only one man who can stand up to the challenge. His name is oso. Quote
Platonist Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 .. AnSo just won't quit give me your freetime bro Quote
KrafN Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Wooow, great stuff man. Don't you dare giving your freetime to someone else, you just use it too well creating those awesome remixes. Keep em coming! Quote
Gollgagh Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I find that offensive! I didn't mean the remix is bad, I am merely surprised that this title finally got a remix. Quote
Dafydd Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I didn't mean the remix is bad, I am merely surprised that this title finally got a remix. Because it's an unreleased and horrible title? (Or is it unreleased?) Quote
Palpable Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Nice work, AnSo. Keep rocking that clav. Source still sucks though. Quote
Clumsy. Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I thank you for an introduction into something wholly bizarre and entertaining. Plus, that tune is very catchy; I must say it's an instant favorite ;P Quote
SwordBreaker Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Not familiar with this obscure game and its soundtrack. But hot damn. This remix is extremely funky. Loving the synths and keyboard playing. Excellent work, Soundscape. Quote
Z3120 Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I seldom post my impression on a remix, but I must say this: "you're making me imagine Chester Cheeto in his own game vividly displayed before my very eyes." What's played starting at 1:29 reminds me of a very old Megaman game except I'm using Chester Cheeto instead. A very creative mix to make me imagine this bizarre game... Quote
Kholdstare Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLrWwmnt2po&feature=related I know people have seen this - but did you ever notice the music used was the second song off the Cheetah Men 2 soundtrack? I just learned this myself - I thought it interesting. Either way - that game looks insane. Quote
Rexy Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Shouldn't this be under Action 52? I thought the music appeared there first before coming into Cheetahmen II (along with the theme for Fuzz Power, which was also transferred over). Anyway, I don't think there's much else to say concerning the track other than that he approached what is theoretically the worst game EVER and made a remix that actually somehow made the game sound half decent. A very straightforward route in terms of style, but heck, there was still a lot of interpretation to ensure that there was enough balance between familiarity with the theme and personal interpretation, so all's good. I believe the FF9 bit in the middle was needed to add some much needed countermelodic work for the end portion of the original track's melody line, so clever stuff there too. Get in there AnSo - I bet the Japanese scene and Cheetahmen fans everywhere are in love by now (And btw djp, the last I checked, they were a THREESOME - Aries, Apollo and Hercules, unless there's some secret one that I don't know about.) I agree with what Kablammyman just said as well. I've quickly grown to be a fan of AS's work. Its nice that he's kind of breaking the mold and remixing music from games that haven't been covered thus far. Quote
