Hausdog
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ I mean... well, I don't know what I mean. I shouldn't be all that surprised, but it still sucks. At least he had quite a run, right?
Wiesty
yeh holy shit, i just read this too. Man, he was funny. RIP indeed.
Triad Orion
There's only one word that can sum this up, and one I'd think the late, great Carlin would approve of: ...Fuck. T_T
Majin GeoDooD
This sucks.. RIP George Carlin.
FuriousFure
there goes chances for a Bill and Ted III right out the window! yeah he was pretty funny and it sucks that he died. but I can't really say he's going to a better place. He was a total atheist so at least he wasn't planning on it.
TheSnowStorm
Ah shit! Can't believe Carlin is dead . . . god, I really love his books "Silly Putter" and "Brain Droppings" R.I.P.

The Coop
Well this is a sad day for the comedic world... a Mongolian Cluster Fuck™ of a day. His stuff was hit or miss with me at times in his last couple specials, but I laughed a lot at his other specials over the years. He was controversial, witty, sarcastic, dirty, insightful at times, and he put it all on show in regular 60 minute bits every couple of years. He's been a staple in the comedy world for decades... someone you just expected to always be there ready to comment in their own way about everything. And now, he's abruptly gone. Rest in peace George, and thanks for the many laughs you've given me.
shadowrunner
yeah, I had to do a double take at the headline when I glaced at it. This is a bummer to say the least. I've been laughing at his material for my entire life, and as he got older his material only got better.
The Pezman
No kidding... yeesh. We are out one world-class funnyman.

Necrotic
This is an incredible loss for the world of comedy. He had such a unique spin on his view of the world that it often managed to make me not only laugh, but also think a little deeper about the state that our world is in at the time. He was among my favourites. Rest in Peace, Mr. Carlin.
The Phalanx
Now HERE was a true comedian, who lacked the fear of saying what he wanted to and didn't bother with political correctness or general opinion. Few would be in the business if he hadn't stepped forward and flipped the bird. God damn man, you'll be missed.
joe_cam
*sigh* The world is a lot less funny now.

I-n-j-i-n
Just when I thought he was starting to look senile in recent shows, that happens. 71's slightly sooner than usual, but he had a good run. I was never a fan of Carlin, but it's sad to see celebrities go.
The Author
But would he want us to make a big deal out of this? Lets not ruin his memory by being sad.

Hyperion5182
In a world of political correctness he stood alone. Its going to be a sadder world without him unfortunately.
