Flash Strife Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Post-apocalyptic Pokemon. They already made this. It's called Nocturne. Quote
Bleck Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I've come to learn that anything with the words 'shin megami tensei' in the title usually ends up being monstrously bad Quote
Geoffrey Taucer Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I've been thinking for awhile that something like this could work great for pikmin. A whole post-apocalyptic thing would really explain a lot with that game. Quote

The Coop Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Oh oh oh! Do the Powerpuff Girls!!! ... We're doing to wind up seeing you on a Chris Hanson special, aren't we? Quote
Dr.Flintlock Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Mr. Ron Perlman's going to have to be Professor Oak, narrating the entire thing. Also, dubbed version of the ink spots or it can't happen. Seriously... Quote
Archaon Posted May 1, 2009 Author Posted May 1, 2009 They already made this. It's called Nocturne. Piffle. I don't see no Pokemon. This is not you and your Squirtle against a decimated hellscape, dammit. Ron Perlman as Professor Oak This alone would justify the game's existence. Also: Quote
Dhsu Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Fist of the North Star + Pokemon = ??? http://hokutonochu.ytmnd.com Quote
TheKrow Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Fist of the North Star jokes are overused, and yet they're always amusing, sadly. Quote
Sinewav Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I, for one, love this idea. Though comparisons to I, Mario are obvious. Quote

Dafydd Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 I'd be willing to help with programming, if I can, once it comes to that (in a few years). I think that's mostly why I, Mario failed (no programmers). Depends on what you want the game to be in the end though (2D, 3D, Source mod?) Quote

You guys need serious dedication like the seemingly fanatical touhou community; especially when they've done things from , rts, to Why not simply stick to making an awesome graphic novel/manga/comicbook with each chapter done by different artists to keep things surreal and interesting..? From different perspectives and leave it at that..? Quote
Archaon Posted May 9, 2009 Author Posted May 9, 2009 Wait, wait. Programming? When did we start talking about programming? Even if I was putting this forward as an actual project that we should work on, I suspect that Nintendo would take a very dim view of anyone else squeezing the teats of their beloved cash cow. Quote
Dafydd Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 Nintendo would probably frown on it, yes. But I didn't realize you didn't want this idea of yours to become an actual game. Sorry. Quote
Drugbird Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 You guys are forgetting one thing. Pokemon are already mutated animals that somehow got super powers. So now you want to mutate them AGAIN and add even more super powers? awesome Quote
TheKrow Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 The Pokemon we want are mutated by nuclear chemicals and radiation. The ones we have right now are mutated by farts and sunshine. Quote

Broken Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 When I looked at your description I was immediately reminded of the most recent advance wars game. I don't know how well that game went but I think this idea has some merit (not that you're trying to make a game). I liked your idea of nuclear radiation causing spontaneous "evolution". Pretty interesting. I haven't finished a pokemon game since red/blue, so this would be an interesting return to the series for me. Quote
Geoffrey Taucer Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 If we can pick up enough programmers, I think it would be better to take the I, Mario project and run with it than to start something completely new. Quote
