I'd probably be more pleased if there was any conceivable way to effectively play a game like this using a keyboard.

For something like Blazblue I can only see myself playing it on the console, or at an arcade. Nonetheless fighters on the PC with the keyboard is doable believe it or not.

Ever tried doing a 360 motion with WASD? Unless your opponent's willing to just stand in one place and wait while you jump around like a jackass, forget it.

My younger sister mastered the craft of WASD 360 moves (as in she could strategically use them in a real fight using WASD). Always wiped the floor with me using Zangief on X-men vs Street Fighter... so yeah, it's doable. Sadly, that's even my preferred style of controller.

If more games from different genres that I liked (IE fighters, JRPS, and other quirky japanese gaames) went to the PC, I'd probably make the switch to PC gaming altogether.

There's a program called XPadder that will allow you to set up a USB controller to play with.

I'm using a PS2 controller with a USB hookup and XPadder to play.

I remapped the keys to my 360 fightpad using the included config tool. Problem is, diagonals only register one direction (so I walk instead of jumping forward).

I'm guessing using something like xpadder or joy2key will fix this?

Don't run game.exe -- run the loader from a command line (try typex_loader game.exe) to get it to go.

dragging and dropping the game exe to the loader exe also works, if you don't want to bother with a command line.
