I am pretty keen with fast games with a lil' practice. People were impressed with the level design and the action of Sonic Adventure, but the camera sucks ass! Hyperion5182 Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 Single player? 50. It was a hell of a crowd. I was putting on a shooting clinic in Area 51 i was going through levels without getting HIT. Best part of all was doing it with dual pistols. It got real wild. When i finally died the entire place cheered because no one else had done it like that. Two player? 100-150 On two seperate occasions. Our arcade held an SC2 tournament big one it was real active in its day Arcade's gone but i wont forget that day I tore through the first three rounds with mitsurugi it was ho hum stuff. I made it into the quarters and faced possibly the best ivy player in the State. He was unreal. The settings were best of five and 60 second rounds for the main tournament. He won the first two. I came back and won two straight by invoking his Iaijutsu stance and his special defense in that stance...nearly impossible to pul off with ivy but it worked. Final round we went for broke. He went for ivy's super but missed the grab giving me an opening to launch Mitsurugi's strongest move. After that we shook hands. I lost in the semi's to a Taki moving just a little too fast for me to keep up. But when it was over everyone was talking about ours as the best match of the tournament. Second incident? 6 months after that SC tournament they got initial d V2 3 months before. Everyone was having a lot of fun. I had gotten a hell of a reputation as an RX-7 player on the downhill. I was taking on all comers that day when a guy decides to step up. I didnt bother to look at who it was cause i was in a zone. Turns out he was running an RX-7 too. He prefered the FC to my FD Spirit-R And boy could he drive it. He beat me twice down Akina I couldnt believe it. Races were settled by mere meters. At this point people were streaming in to get a look at this and the arcade guys put it up on their big screen. Those who could see us did. I decided to change the track up. Wanting to see if he was an Akina specialist so i went for Iro. The toughest track in the game and a personal favorite. I took him in the final section after he took the lead in the middle. He then chose The first track. Wanting to see if i could keep up in speed. Well i was more than happy to oblige taking him out by 50 meters. So then i turn to look at him and say. "Akina One more time." Because at this point i'm in the goddamned zone. And i want to take best three out of five on his best track. He nods and replies "What the Hell." So we fire it up. This time i'm in back like i was the first race. Good god we raced our hearts out. It was perfect from the get go. We left it all on the track. I took it with two turns to go as i got in an opening as he miscalcuated. The entire place went nuts. Mall security was outside wondering what the hell was going on. DMaster Posted July 9, 2010 Share Posted July 9, 2010 I played Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes (Gamecube) on Extreme, with the option GAME OVER IF DISCOVERED on, Radar off. I played the game in one run on the last day of school (Party in the cafeteria with a projector. w00t.) I made it through without saving, using rations or killing (except for bosses.). I did not get discovered at all other than the mandatory time (Comms Tower A). With Meryl's ending. My code name at the end was Big Boss. Every frickin' person in that cafeteria went crazy when I did it, and let me tell you that seeing 103 people in shock and disbelief is one of the most hilarious moments you can get. The final match, between myself and Isaiah "Triforce" Johnson, took well over an hour for a single round. It was an epic battle, and we had a good 10 or 15 people gathered around to watch for parts of it. We eventually declared it a draw. Although one day my English teacher let us just do whatever in the computer lab, and I had the whole class watching me clear "The World's Hardest Game" (http://armorgames.com/play/1043/the-worlds-hardest-game) after everyone got frustrated with the thing. One of my favorite MAG7 moments was watching you two crash the SNES. My crowd moment: I attracted my entire dorm floor playing the xbox Ninja Gaiden -- the action was so fluid compared to everything else that it was just enchanting. CC Ricers Posted July 12, 2010 Share Posted July 12, 2010 You know DDR was the bee's knees when you attracted a dozen or so people to shadow dance with you. And although I wasn't really into it, there were a lot of freestyle dancers around the time of DDR USA/4th Mix. Those also drew big crowds. I think the scoring system overhaul on 5th Mix and subsequent versions killed some of the freestyle movement, as everyone just wanted to get as many perfects as possible. I need to get some friends together to make an outing of it again soon but the machines aren't exactly the biggest money makers for any arcade investor to purchase, they break pretty easily. I would play for 6 hours no joke... we would play like three sets of three then chill on some virtual on or F-Zero Ax..then go back and play more.. Notably they saw Mecha Birdo, Kraidgief, Mother Brain, and they saw me attempt The Guy MANY, MANY times.
