HoboKa Posted October 1, 2009 Posted October 1, 2009 I'll drop you a line on aim later, be online. yessir *salutes*
Level 99 Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 I'm sticking with damn damn drum but taking a....semi-liberal approach to the mix. it's latin, kinda salsa-y
Geoffrey Taucer Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) So I'm looking at two possible directions for Farewell Song, two different styles of folk ballad. I'll let Rozo make the call on which one I try first. My original plan was to make it a slow and moody appalachian ballad, modelled closely after Ashokan Farewell However, I've also been toying with the idea of making it a quicker, more irish-influenced ballad, something like Edited October 4, 2009 by Geoffrey Taucer
Rozovian Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 (edited) Oh great, more salsa. Just don't lose the crazy amount of drums and rhythms and stuff. I could easily hear your track go either way, Tauce. Can i ask for both, start with one, end with the other? The more irish example sounds fitting, but I've heard stuff like that before. Appalachian ballad... it sounds so much more exotic to my finnish ears. Can't decide between them. And now you've gone and gotten high expectations on you. everybody btw, +1 finished track today. Geoffrey Taucer Posted October 4, 2009 Posted October 4, 2009 Ok, I think I'm gonna start with the appalachian approach and see where it takes me. May end up throwing in some of the more irish stuff as well, if that's where it ends up going.
Rozovian Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Updating to say we've had an update on the first post... ...and a new forum!. Surprise surprise, it's at KNGI. Thanks Kyle.
KyleJCrb Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 No problem, always glad to help fellow projects and provide my services. If you can't find the section in the sea of forum sections, here's an easier link: http://kngi.org/forum/index.php?c=15 Make sure not to confuse it with Bahamut's Darkness & Light project.
Level 99 Posted October 5, 2009 Posted October 5, 2009 Have fun going through the memberlist and adding those permissions for people already there
Rozovian Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 (edited) +1 remixer. I'm getting work done on the mixes I've promised to do for other projects, so I should have time to have a look at my tracks for this project, both of which are at the threshold of completion having forgotten what to do when they're at the front of the queue. Once they're all done, I can start claiming tracks and turn the sd3 project into another Relics of the Chozo where half the tracks are done by the same dude. Don't turn me into Protricity, guys. Get mixin'! Edited October 11, 2009 by Rozovian
HoboKa Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 +1 remixer.Don't turn me into Protricity, guys. Get mixin'! You'd need to hack OCR first before you can be the next Prot. ...It's ironic how some of OCR's best music is made by one of the most notoriously disliked members of the community.
Rozovian Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Dunno about the rest of you, but I'm pretty busy with all the other projects. Had a look at one of my own unfinished track today, itching to get back to it. Some other projects' tracks first tho. Good thing I don't have a life, eh? Two new wips in, surprisingly little activity. Guys, come on. School/work/family/church/world domination can't be more important than an awesome jrpg. Anyway, so Bahamut can add it to the projects thread: if you have something to offer the project, like art, skills in arranging and/or mixing, suggestions for active and interested people for us to shanghai onto the project, good relations with staff of Seiken Densetsu fansites (we got seikens.com covered) or Hiroki Kikuta fansites (preferably with musicians/arrangers/remixers)... anything we could use, let me know. In other words: Wanna help out? Lemme know what you can do.
Eino Keskitalo Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Youtube links for the open tracks in OP: 103 Ordinary People - 106 Axe Bring Storm - 119 Fable - 219 Obsession - 310 Electric Talk - 314 The Sacrifice pt II - 318 Breezin - --Eino
Rozovian Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 You can scratch Fable off that list. Thanks for it tho, should make it easier for ppl intersted in joining. How about it, ppl?
Rozovian Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 Okay, updated. If anybody doesn't know it yet, Willrock is awesome. He just did a track just because he had a bad day. I kind'a wish him many more. For obvious reasons. Scratch breezin off the list of available ones.
Level 99 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 I'm meeting with Harmony tonight, we already have an internal WIP being passed around between us, so expect some updates soon. Glad Willrock is just fucking awesome. KEEP IT UP!
Rozovian Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 You know, I kind'a wanna hear that wip. Kind'a.
Level 99 Posted November 7, 2009 Posted November 7, 2009 As soon as it's something more than just a rhythm-WIP, I'll surely post it. Keep your pants on, beardy.
HoboKa Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Keep your pants on, beardy. now that's a good one lol.
Nutritious Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 High Tension should be wrapped up (finally) in the next few days. Just putting some finishing touches.
Rozovian Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Awesome, man. Looking forward to hearing and trying to find something in it to complain about. btw, several mixers have disappeared, so I'm gonna open their tracks unless they show up and reclaim them. Tomorrow. Nutri, do you need another track to mix?
Abadoss Posted November 11, 2009 Posted November 11, 2009 Awesome, man. Looking forward to hearing and trying to find something in it to complain about. btw, several mixers have disappeared, so I'm gonna open their tracks unless they show up and reclaim them. Tomorrow. Nutri, do you need another track to mix? Depending on what opens up and when my computer is back up, I might snag another one. It might be interesting to see the comparison of my work three years ago to something more current.

Looking forward to hearing and trying to find something in it to complain about. btw, several mixers have disappeared, so I'm gonna open their tracks unless they show up and reclaim them. Tomorrow. Nutri, do you need another track to mix? Eh, not at this point. I'm actually really trying to clear my plate a bit right now from everything that's unfinished :/. I'll let you know, though.
Rozovian Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Opened up some more tracks now, see first post. Anyone see anything they like? Anyone see something you're still working on and which shouldn't be listed as available?
Emunator Posted November 16, 2009 Posted November 16, 2009 Alright, I'll bite. Long Goodbye is giving me some slight inspiration and I feel like I've significantly improved my piano skills to the point where I might be able to make something passable, so I'll mess around with it for a bit to see what I can do. Is that track even still open, though? I don't want to start putting some serious time into a WIP if someone's already working on it
