Seiken Densetsu 3: Songs of Light and Darkness - History

Recommended Posts

I was hoping to have been more productive than this, but preparations are almost done now. Just gotta rename them/create a playlist for the album track order and I'm ready to upload. Tomorrow, hopefully. Last chance to get an updated track in before evals.

My tomorrow tends to be a few days later than most people's.

I went over the tracklist for some final checks for quality and order. Got me all teary-eyed and goosebump-y over some of the tracks. We (and I'm a very small part of that) have accomplished something amazing, and I really hate being this slow and holding the whole thing back.

Next tomorrow: renaming, zipping, uploading.

I'm excited for the release and hope people will like my songs even though they're a little older, I still think they are really good... the orchestration in particular is one that i still show to people when they're curious about my orchestration work.. good luck with the eval!

Almost missed an updated track. it was updated a while back, but buried somewhere in my downloads. I hope it's the only one I've missed. Next project I'm in charge of is going to be so much better organized. And faster.

Dug up that one, got a recent update for another track, everything should be ready to convert file names to the final tracklist and send in for evals. "Early January". Hah!

Soon!

The eval package is about ready. All the music is. Just gotta write a nice little note to staff detailing the current state of things, and then find a convenient time to upload it when nobody is going to complain about in-game lag or anything. Uncompressed, it's about 3 gigs, which on my country connection will take a while.

But hey, progress!

Website.

We need one.

Anyone wanna do one?

PM me for details.

edit: I'm talking website stuff with Dj Mokram currently. Further interest appreciated, although it dawned on me that it's better for anyone interested to post here instead.

Website's being built last I talked to Rozovian.

I spoke with Emunator about a month ago, he contacted me about needing a .WAV for the evaluations, so it's still in process, there's still just a que of other shit on OCR's schedule of activity before it can come out. The new OCR migration to Invision being a big one, I'm sure.

So has there been any news?

Nothing significant. Still in the process, but even if we busted ass to get this in the pipeline, we'd still be waiting about the same for it to come out.

Be patient, it's coming. :D

Thanks for the reminder, I've actually had all the files converted and tagged sitting on my HD for the last month, but I haven't uploaded them anywhere. I'll jump on that soon, but there are several other projects in the queue ahead, so it might still be a while.

I would if there was a dedicated method of communication with you! >:P

Some time ago I worked with Emunator to get as fully up-to-date a WAV list as could be gotten, I think he may be best to get those .WAVs to you. Only reason I'm not suggesting Rozovian himself is his busy RL that makes his online presence more sparse and random.

PMs or admin@ocremix.org are dedicated methods of communication, I gots 'em. I don't need anyone's dedicated presence, I just need a link to where you have the WAVs online. It can be from Google Drive, Dropbox, whatever. Literally whatever. :-)

At the ConBravo panel hosted by the OC University guys, they had a slide listing the albums upcoming this year. Funny that this one didn't get included on that slide. It seems so close to being done.  ;-)

Maybe it's because none of those guys contributed to this album?

It's been a month and a half since the last post, and I'm really looking forward to this album, so I thought I'd sign up and say something, considering I've been lurking here for probably 11 years (I think I found out about this site in 04 or 05).

I don't follow or know much about OC University, so I couldn't tell you what context of albums they were speaking in, but hopefully it is a rather irritating oversight (I realize this project is still so long in the making but c'mon!) or just not the context of albums they were talking in as opposed to a deliberate slight. Be it deliberate, heads are going to roll!

No idea what was shown, but ocr staff has the release schedule, so they'd know what gets released this year, and several of them are involved in OCU. The album is done and being evaluated by ocr staff. There's still a few things (art and website-related, mostly) that we need to do before we could release this.

You're not the only one looking forward to this album's release. With the music being done, it irks me that we can't just release the album right now (or even months ago), but ocr has an album release schedule and queue for a reason. We should be ready for release this year, but the actual release seems to be next year. Can't cut in line.

It doesn't matter if the album has been in production for several years. If something is still missing for its release, it won't come out until that issue is solved. That's why other projects, despite being newer but having everything done, may get released before.

Out of curiosity, what albums did the slide show? :)
