YukiKazami
Here's a few Megaman Zero 2 ones I threw together, for a quick try at some representation for my favorite Megaman subseries: https://www.dropbox.com/s/elrz92r1rwfwd89/Alouette%20Mugshot.gif Alouette https://www.dropbox.com/s/leznbgdrpg1x2tp/Burble%20Heklot%20Mugshot.gif Burble Heklot https://www.dropbox.com/s/4islx18eegh9ene/Cerveu%20Mugshot.gif Cerveu https://www.dropbox.com/s/ctjk2960fr69odm/Ciel%20Mugshot.gif Ciel https://www.dropbox.com/s/9gntx5fq89bnz7b/Zero%20Mugshot.gif Zero LT: The quality isn't sharp, and the stray pixels around the characters don't look smooth at all. Brandon Strader
I don't know if this is typically for requests but it would be awesome to get some Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls avatars, and maybe a Quantic Dream category to choose from. Maybe even Kara, The Dark Sorcerer, and other QD stuff. But in particular I'd like some BTS.
Dafydd
Freelancer icon: #1 original (cropped semi-transparent pixels) #2 mix between #1 and #3 #3 sharpened version of #1 I can try to put this on a background if you think the edges are too sharp. There's also a 38x44 version, but it looks like the 32x32 rule is still in effect despite at least one avatar breaking the rule. DarkeSword
Preloaded forum avatars will be going away with the migration to IPB. People will be able to set custom avatars after the migration.
Dafydd
That explains why no one else has posted anything in this thread since 2013 Thanks! EDIT: Will we still be limited to .gif? Can't think of a good reason not to allow for .png, but I guess that's already been brought up... Edited April 14, 2015 by Dafydd

Brandon Strader
That's pretty awesome, we'll get PNG forum avatars.. will they show on our posts? Do they have to be gaming related or can they be from movies or "selfies" as the kids call it.
timaeus222
Would they be resized into thumbnails in posts or restricted to a small size in the first place?

Liontamer
Just wait for the new forums. On second thought, we'll just ban anything new anyway.

This is great news. Though if I may ask, will this come with any kind of restrictions on the user-side (size, resolution, sharpness)? Props to Larry for all the hard work on quality control that helped maintain OCR's avatar consistency across the aeons.

There's a filesize limit on uploads, and then a resizable box that you use for cropping. Avatars can't be animated. Content that's allowed in avatars follows the same general guidelines for sigs. Basically no porn, no gross stuff, etc. If you can't put it in your sig, you can't put it in your avatar.

djpretzel
Time to get updating your profile pics, as the end of an era has arrived and forum avatars are no longer in play!! My personal thanks to any & all who chipped in over the vBulletin years to make our forums a lot more fun, especially to Larry who coordinated the overall effort and put some serious time in. Have we moved on? Yes. Do I think people will ultimately prefer the personalization afforded by profile pics? Yes. Did we have some fun w/ our itty-bitty avatars over the years? You betcha.
