Mirby Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Will we ever get that vocalist? Are my lyrics too great for a vocalist to sing? Find out next time. Same BadAss time, Same BadAss channel.
Chernabogue Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 Will we ever get that vocalist? Someone contacted me, so don't lose hope, Mirby!
Darkflamewolf Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 You're redoing the Kefka and Sephiroth themes again but not doing Kuja from FFIX? I cry foul!
Pavos Posted February 25, 2014 Author Posted February 25, 2014 (edited) You're redoing the Kefka and Sephiroth themes again but not doing Kuja from FFIX? I cry foul! Nobody's stopping you from doing a Kuja remix By the way, Kefka has never been on BadAss before and the Sephiroth mix is a great spiritual successor to PrototypeRaptor's 'Badazz'. The strenght of BadAss has never been to mix everyone's favorite sources (like most albums based on single game soundtracks do), but to create a great experience for fans of the genre - and it will do so again. Darkflamewolf Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 @Pu_Freak - Track 17 of the first BadAss album: The Sound of a Thousand Voices Screaming in Unison. Yep. He's already been done. Your argument is invalid. Make way for Kuja! As for my skills, I have 0% skills in making anything musical. I've never touched a music program or instrument in my life.

Those new arrangements are so great, there's no problem if they've been covered before!
Darkflamewolf Posted February 26, 2014 Posted February 26, 2014 True, but I just feel like each Bad Ass album 'should' cover new territory. Capture all the villains that were skipped over the first time around (and the second time). Maybe its just me feeling a great injustice is being done here. :-/

Can't believe I forgot Kidd Cabbage's track In any case, my other point still stands: It's not our aim to mix every boss theme out there, just to give fans of the genre a great experience. Of course, we don't want duplicates of previous mixes, but the variation in genre of each volume makes for unique takes on the boss themes. And it's always up to the remixer to choose a track he or she wants to mix.

And it's always up to the remixer to choose a track he or she wants to mix. I want to add that we don't put a tracklist with specfic boss themes to be remixed. People choose the theme they want to arrange and send them to us: we either accept or reject them then. And sometimes, we find some cool tracks on YouTube or the OCR WiP forums, and ask their authors to join the project. And don't worry, some themes you'll hear have never been remixed before!
The Joker Posted March 27, 2014 Posted March 27, 2014 No promises, but I think I'm gonna try and do a solo remix for the volume. Thinking about something from a dark side or... something. Also, hopefully the gruntilda track can get done before the deadline. I'm hoping!

Pavos Posted April 3, 2014 Author Posted April 3, 2014 I need updates from a lot of people (see first post), so I'll be bugging all of you shortly
Chernabogue Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 I sent you a PM some time ago with the current status of my tracks. I may get updates later.
timaeus222 Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 (edited) I'm honestly not 100% happy with the direction of Kenta's and my Castlevania track. I dunno, we may continue it, but we may just try either picking a new source (maybe ) or adding more sources. The inspiration is just iffy with this one. Tempo's weird, I don't have a good organ sample, lots of metal on BadAss albums already, etc. Things are much better on the Vectorman remix. Edited April 4, 2014 by timaeus222
YukiKazami Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 I wouldn't necessarily mind a source change either, I truly enjoy the source I picked before, but we do seem to be having some issues
Argle Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 In our track I am the one holding up progress. I have just been drained of inspiration lately... completely.
Chimpazilla Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Redg has been busy, so he hasn't worked on our track yet (my wip I sent him) but he does have some great ideas for it. He said his time will free up quite a bit in May. We won't have an update before the end of May, but we do plan to continue with Molgera, as of now.

Pavos Posted June 3, 2014 Author Posted June 3, 2014 (edited) Sorry for my long absence guys, I've had some personal stuff last month. In any case, I'm back and I'm confident you guys have been busy! Edited June 3, 2014 by pu_freak
Chernabogue Posted June 11, 2014 Posted June 11, 2014 Pieter may have forgotten to update the OP, but we have new finished tracks. This is going to be the most epic BA volume of all three!
