avaris Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Nice mix dude. You really pulled off the aggressive film score vibe here. Intro is def my favorite part. Excellent choice of source for the song. Quote
Kanohi Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 So sick, definitely one of my favorite source tunes from Prime 2 and I think Argle really nailed it! It's powerful and heavy to a point but keeps a great ambient and airy feel to balance it out, great mix Quote
DarthLink Posted January 30, 2014 Posted January 30, 2014 Nice mix. Keeps attention real well. I really like the electronic (at least I think it's electronic) take on the theme. Whatever it is, it's great. Keep up the good work. Important question, though: Corruption rearrangement when? Quote
Argle Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Important question, though: Corruption rearrangement when? The answer is, definitely someday. I've had a plan for a title theme remix for over a year. Quote
Crulex Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Dude, this freaking rocks hard. From that intro, which comes back later on, to the powerful aggressive guitars that glide along the sweet tempo you set for it and the switching of instruments (especially those woodwinds and the piano), man, this is definitely my favorite ReMix from you yet. So recommended. Quote
timaeus222 Posted January 31, 2014 Posted January 31, 2014 Great production, man. I like the downtempo vibe, because at the same time, it's got that heavy rock feel, creating a sort of emphatic drive contrasting with a melancholy situation. This reminds me of zircon's "Perpetual Motion". Quote
AngelCityOutlaw Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Awesome! Love the addition of the acoustic guitars. Quote
Eino Keskitalo Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Larry's comment about the deliberate tempo is spot on. My favourite thing is the delicious organ sound towards the beginning - it was nice to hear that a bit towards the end as well, but I'd have loved to hear it even more prominently featured! The overall sound is a touch muffled/stuffed I thought, and the woodwind lead isn't as good as the rest of the instrumentation. Otherwise the production's pretty good, with lots of neat sound design - I especially like the "underwater" bit just before the piano part - really there. --Eino Quote
Black_Doom Posted February 19, 2015 Posted February 19, 2015 Heavy, in-your-face yet amazing. The mix has great instrumentation, love every little touch. The structure is mind-blowing as well - the combination of heavier parts with more shreddage & pounding drums and parts with the piano & acoustic guitar is really cool. Great, Adam! Quote
Nobbynob Littlun Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Great stuff. This is the kind of thing I keep coming back to OCRemix for. My only thought is that the volume on various instruments and sections could have used more ease-in-ease-out. Quote
eggsngaming Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 THE best Argle remix, and that's saying something. The calm piano part is so goooood. Argle manages to keep the piercing synth lead just quiet enough that it doesn't drown out the aggressive guitar, and I'm really impressed with how seamless it goes from aggressive to quiet (and vice versa) so seamlessly several times throughout the remix. The calm, atmospheric parts are very Metroid-y and remind me of what it was like to play these games back in the day. Quote
WesternZypher Posted January 10, 2017 Posted January 10, 2017 What a vast space those organ carve for themselves. Beautiful balance between soaring, crunchy guitars, and winding its way quietly between those tall cliffs, the serene river of the piano at the bottom, floating and flowing! Quote
