Garpocalypse Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 Just saw this too. Can't believe it's finally happening. While not exactly the form I was hoping the game would take it's still as exciting AF to see the IP revived. Quote
Gamelore Posted August 28, 2018 Posted August 28, 2018 This is way, way too heavy on the magical motion-blur / special effects. At its best, Streets of Rage is, to me, aesthetically gritty and dry and satisfyingly plain. Just bare hands and raw weapons being used in physically realistic ways with fairly clean combat frames. We can at least be fortunate that it's true to its side-scrolling predecessors. Quote
Deathtank Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 mmmhhh..not sure yet, I'll have to wait and see when it comes out. =/ Quote
Vercetti Fade Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 I'm very interested. We'll see where it goes, but yes, interested. If we get a soundtrack similar to that blood pumping feel of SoR1, I'll be a very happy bunny. Quote
Eino Keskitalo Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 It's Lizardcube! (they did the Dragon's Trap remake) Quote

Had to laugh at that some. I hope they've gone the Double Dragon Neon route and doubled down on as many of the ridiculous aspects of the game as possible. Quote
Mak Eightman Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 I have to say.. New characters suck and ridiculous Quote

They have an ELevAt0r LevELl!! 100% faithful to the series, going to be awesome. So hype. So. Freaking. Hype. Can't shake this Street fighter 4 gameplay vibe I see so much of in this trailer though. Juggle combos in Streets of Rage? But as long as the lead pipe hits are as satisfying as they were in SOR2 I know I'll be happy. :] HoboKa 1 Quote

Sadly Lizardcube didn't get the memo. Garpocalypse 1 Quote
thebitterroost Posted May 6, 2020 Posted May 6, 2020 If anyone was curious about Streets of Rage 4, here's my general impression. Has a lot in common with Double Dragon Neon. Gameplay in SoR4 is a faster with much more comboing and such and thus has the edge on gameplay, but DDN is better in terms of graphics/music/design (imho) due to really leaning into the inherent cheese factor. Single run of the story mode with a second player on normal will take about 1.5-2hrs Not that you can’t find gameplay video of it just about anywhere else, but I streamed a gameplay session of it that I did with a friend over Parsec: Quote
Sir_NutS Posted May 8, 2020 Posted May 8, 2020 I never played any of the originals for more than 10 minutes or so but I enjoyed SoR4 a lot, possibly the best beat'em up I've played. I beat it with all the SoR4 characters, but I don't enjoy playing with the old, retro characters. Good stuff overall. Quote
