Cadmus
Depends on the game, but most of them you can use either. Great, thanks. Next - is the only way to buy points through their website? The "Virtual Console" link brings up a server error...
The Author
Great, thanks. Next - is the only way to buy points through their website? The "Virtual Console" link brings up a server error... In the WiiShop channel of the wii, you can buy points using a credit card. In fact, I only buy games that way.
SoloGamer
Great, thanks. Next - is the only way to buy points through their website? The "Virtual Console" link brings up a server error... You can also buy a 2000 point card from any retailer for $20. I prefer buying directly from the shop channel though, since that doesn't charge any sales tax

Devyn
Well, every state has its own tax rules. I have to pay 10.90 for 1000 points (9 %). Some reportedly pay no taxes for games. By the way, the Nights Into Dreams reviews have been kinda mixed. Is anyone bothered by this?

I live in California and don't pay any taxes in the shop channel, whereas a trip to the store would cost me an extra 8.25%
Neo Samus
Oh wow. I was unaware of that. I find it strange though....the shop channels tax for me is 6.25 or 6.5. When I go to stores my tax is 7 or higher. Oh I know, it's just my county tax and nothing more. No city tax is slapped on.

I didn't even know they charged tax on the shop channel in the first place.
Admiral_C
Its good to brush of on your area's tax laws every once in a while. Some companies like to take advantage and pocket a little extra, while claiming its tax.
Ray Falling
I been trying to trade my stars for a 1000 points card for a week now and every day its the same story: points card store "under construction" or 0 cards being left... I just want that darn Pokemon Snap already and I never have time to just go out and buy a 2000 points card. This sucks much, and to think that it could cost me over 5 years of stars doesnt make me much happier.
Scufo
i decided to try medal of honor heroes 2first off EXCELLENT CONTROLS ive only played one mission of the campaign and it was fun but i cannot comment about the campaign as a whole now for the good part ONLINE PLAY there are...yes its true....NO FRIEND CODES its ea's service and you simply register a handle with them and thats your name the matchmaking is excellent and the fact that it goes up to 32 players is just GREAT Whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA. No friend codes? I didn't think Nintendo would even allow that. This gives a lot of hope for generally improved online play on the Wii. Thanks for the info. I don't know why they wouldn't. They took away all the exclusive content on their site after all...
WesPip
Ha, guys. They've stopped offering ANY details on when trucks carrying Wiis will be out and about and what their routes are. Apparently in Toronto a little while ago, someone tried to hijack a Wii truck at gunpoint. [not sure if it was successful or not]. Saw this in The Sun, so I'm sure you could get details from their site if you wanted to. But seriously, hijacking a wii truck. That's awesome. The Damned
So, that guy that figured out how to use a Wiimote and a laptop to create a cheap, working virtual whiteboard? He's figured out a cheap, working way to make 2D displays into pseudo-3D monitors. http://kotaku.com/336960/another-brilliant-johnny-lee-wii-vid Did Nintendo ever think of these kinds of applications when they came up with this system? Because if this one guy could, they must have figured out something with fifty or so guys.
Effector
Nintendo needs to get on this NOW. One of the coolest ideas I've seen using the Wii remote.Head Tracking for Desktop VR Displays using the WiiRemote: Look up. :3 Sorry, you've been beaten to the punch.
