Joe Redifer
OutRun 'Passing Breeze ('97 BIT Offcut Mix)' Passing Breeze has probably always been my favorite Out Run music selection. It's also the favorite of Hiro, who composed the music for Out Run. Chris Abbott has taken that theme and made all the instruments sound really nice and smooth. Not a short song by any stretch, but that's a good thing since it is a good mix of a good song. It seems a bit more calm than the original version due to a slightly slower tempo, but not too much slower to be significant. Chris hasn't changed anything at all melody-wise, save for the cool ending, so if you've played Out Run before then you pretty much know you're getting a nicer sounding version of that. EmptyMy
Well. This is sorta cool. But I was somewhat dissapointed. I mean, Abbot is a big name in the biz. And this certanly isn't as good as the upcoming Passing Breeze remix by shoryken, which is like teh kickassiest song I've heard in a long time. Turboman
I heard it and I felt I was back in the 80's playing the arcade game. It sounds a little like the original arcade music but improved and more latin, Fantastic
Nineko
what? only 2 reviews for this song? it's very similar to the original, with some improovements here and there. long remix, it might get boring after a while. not too bad, but this tune can gave birth to better remixes. vote: 17/30 (borderline Yes)
meccaneer
Feels like the beach. In the 80s. Or a beauty pageant. Or an elevator. The tablas are sweet. Whatever that synth is, ain't. It just brings out the chez. Tonally balanced as it is I just can't dig it.
House of Hyrule
It sounds like the perfect soundtrack to some 80's game show where they're showing stock footage of young couple speedboating off the shores of Miami and the hostess is presenting some glorified weekend vacation spot in tahiti. I like it though. I remember feeling very much like a cool cat sitting there in the boxy OutRun Arcade to the sound of this tune and it has been stuck inside my head ever since. Great job Chris Abbott!
Crabsmasher
While this remix is nothing exciting it's definanty very relaxing. It's the perfect music to fall asleep to because you know when you wake up your going to be happy... it just makes you feel that way. OceansAndrew
Chill for sure, though not terribly adventurous. The sound quality is nice, and like most have already said, it's a completely relaxing mix. Obscure game + subtle mix = no comments, apparently. Too bad, this is good stuff.

DragonAvenger
For an older mix, the sounds are pretty decent. I found nothing that was jarring to the ears. These days, this would certainly be nothing special, but when it first came out, it could definately be appreciated. The mix apparently is very close to source, and it gets repetitious. I wish there had been more variation overall the second time through the theme. The bridge section is pretty nice, good change up. The mix is a nie listen, though more original stuff would have been appreciated.
Rozovian
This would probably fit well onto an ocremix oldies but goodies collection. Actually, it'd into pretty much any oldies but goodies collection. Has a retro feel, pleasant sound, this is sort'a what I imagine the old Outrun sounding like, judging from pics at least. Weird but well blended instrumentation. yes, it gets repetitive, could be half as long, but it's a great track to play and not necessarily pay much attention to, a great background music for doing almost anything, including nothing. metalsnakejuice
Oh yeah a good song to chill with on a hot lazy day. Good job.
Marmiduke
While I don't condone covers (especially Latin infused ones, guh), I find myself very forgiving of this one. For starters, I'm actually a big fan of the original tune and consider it the granddaddy, or at least one of the granddaddies, of modern day structured game music. And it never allows itself to get boring. So all of that is instantly transferred over to this mix. On top of that, even though the mix is very barren arrangement-wise in the first three quarters, I feel that it does start to becoming interesting towards the end, experimenting with my favourite portions of the song is ways I've never heard before and I'm pleasantly surprised by. It is a case of too little too late, but in my mind, it does justify the mix without making excuses. This is a joy to listen to because its a warm, uncomplicated rendition of a great theme. But it would also come to represent a species of remix that would soon become extremely rare on the site. I for one am glad there isn't an overabundance of these mixes, despite the fact I dig this one.
KyleJCrb
Obscure game Really? Seriously? No, not really.
Crulex
Very chill and relaxing, and it doesn’t sound horrible. Unfortunately, that’s all I can really say. It just seems to go on for a while before hitting that groove close to the fourth minute. Not a bad ReMix at all, and I enjoyed it, but it just seems a tad tame and long for me. Tables
Well, this is definitely a pleasing little jam. For the most part, it's not very differently arranged from the original, and it's not even like the instruments are dramatically updated. But as a nice cover with a bit of a different, softer flavor, I think this serves its purpose well enough. Nicely did
WesternZypher
Aw man, I missed the perfect opportunity to drive the California coasts listening to this (instead of just dry, boring, Google Maps voice). Ah well. It was playing in my head.
