  1. Today
  2. This was awesome! Very reflective and kind of somber, but also very cool. There is a LOT to enjoy in this remix and the production is CRISPY. Those strings and piano and the synth leads were killin it out there! I got a little bit of a Pink Floyd vibe at parts. Excellent remix!
  3. I really enjoyed the vibe of this. It was well made and was the perfect vibes for me on an early Wednesday morning. I really dug the bass in this, so groovy and funky! The percussion was also very mucn on point, nice and varied and interesting. I don't even know anything about the source, this is just a really cool remix!
  4. The backup vocals that come in around the minute mark sound really great! Echoing what was said in the writeup, the accompaniment was going ham! I enjoyed the lyrics for this. Great job on this!
  5. "Eating burgers while I wrestle bears" is a magnificent lyric. This was a lot of fun and a cool way to work with the iconic street fighter character themes. Great job on this!
  6. That was such a good buildup/drop at 2:42, easily my favorite part of this remix, it was so GOOD. This remix was an absolute foot tapper, a bop and a half. Great job on this!
  7. This remix definitely encapsulates the feeling of flight well. The reverb of the snares gets sent into the stratosphere in a wonderous drift. The synthwave aesthetic just fits so well with any sort of traveling theme! This remix was rock solid. Excellent job!
  8. I enjoy those SMW-esque synths coming in around 30 seconds. I may not have ever played of or even heard of Quarth, but this remix somehow has an incredibly nostalgic feeling to it, as if somewhere in the far back, my brain is thinking: "You've totally played Quarth before, you've ALWAYS known about Quarth and here are some chips and musical dip to remind you." This is not some low quality dollar store potato product, this is some high quality chip! Also, that ending was great.
  9. Like many here, I owe so much to this compo. T'was a tremendous proving ground to help develop musicianship and meet amazing artists, but also a beacon of hope encouraging me to come back to music times and again in spite of hardships. If you feel like keeping the flame alive once a year, that would be awesome and mighty kind of you. I'll most definitely partake.
  10. Yesterday
  11. Very difficult question. I will not answer with Bundeslang. So many different styles and genres. Favorite is also a very hard term, I fill this in as personal like the most (and genre helps with this). Still (to mention one name) I go for one of the names in the beginning of the contest: Sir Nuts. Perhaps we can do a contest/round one day (maybe a yearly free round or something like that), who knows...
  12. This was definitaly an eccentric mix. The blending of multiple styles really made for a unique soundscape. 2:37 gave me punch out vibes, lol. This was very solid, excellent remix!
  13. This remix didn't have to go as hard as it did, but it did. The epic choir and orchestral instruments really sealed the deal for me, especially starting around the 2:30 - 3:00 mark. The soft interlude with the piano and strings was a welcome change of pace and absolutely lovely. Overall this remix told a grand tale, it wove a tapestry of musical awesomeness that gave a powerful and cinematic performance. Bravo!
  14. Peaceful, pleasant and relaxing. I don't have anything super fancy to say about this remix, it's just really good. That acoustic guitar was smooth as butter! Great job on this remix!
  15. The arrangement is very good in this remix! The playing around with the different themes was expertly done. I really enjoyed the lead synths in this remix, they were very SPICY. Great remix overall! :)
  16. This remix has a vaguely unsettling nature to it, but also is a total bop! I enjoyed the chippy leads and the pulsing beat that undercoats the remix. Overall this was a very solid remix! Great job!
  17. Incredibly strong intro, got me hooked onto the remix right away. The production was very solid on this and the arrangement was even better. I definitely want to give a shoutout to the bass in this song for rocking as hard as it did. The call and response, the various breakdowns and varied dynamics made this a very interesting remix. Excellent job on this remix!
  18. This remix absolutely told a story. Very cinematic and well made. At 2:10 when the choir comes in with the swell, that was such an awesome musical moment. The ending crescendo and final chorus was sooo good! Kudos to you for this awesome remix!
  19. I enjoy a nice slow-tempo rocking remix from time to time. That lead guitar was packing some heated today that's for sure. The arrangement and playing with the source material was very well done. Those are some killer guitar chops for sure! Great remix!
  20. This remix is quite lovely! That flute is putting in overtime to sound extra amazing! The acoustic guitar was nice on the ears as well. I also really digged the vibraphone. I guess I should just say that I liked the whole remix! Good job on this!
  21. Hi Janet! I love chip arrangements and Freya's Theme, so this is a fun listen! The reharmonization starting at 2:44 is a nice touch, as are the filter sweeps with the swells. The syncopated 4:3 pulse that starts at :39 feels stilted in the center channel currently - some ping-ponging between the center and left/right channels opposite the swells would give it more impact. Great cover overall! Looking forward to more posts from you :D
  22. This a good remix! The energy is solid throughout and packs a punch! Shredding guitars and powerful frantic drums, what a combo! Great job on this! :)
  23. This was a LOT of fun. That repeated chorus hook was really great. The vocals were excellent, the horns were excellent, the vibe is excellent, just an excellent remix all around! Bravo!
  24. This remix was definitely a unique beast, I wasn't sure how to approach it half of the time. Some of the parts went harder than I expected them to for sure. Great job on this!
  25. I really enjoyed the mellow vibe of the intro. The percussion was definitely a highlight of this remix. I especially enjoyed that marching snare as it pushed through that energetic section. The pizzicato notes carried the remix the rest of the way home to a nice and lovely ending. Great job on this!
  26. We've got some rockin metal tunes here! Great guitar tone, the strong melodies shone through with that lead guitar very nicely. Everything sounded clear and I was able to follow along without being lost in any mud. Those lead triplets were absolutely fantastic! :)
  27. A 8-bit arrangment of Freya's Them, originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu for Final Fantasy IX (2000). I made this back in 2022, when I was still developing my music style. I edited this on Audacity for the stereo effect you hear on this track, which's actually multiple renditions of the same track put as one on the left, on the right, in the middle, to create this sound dimension, almost a 3D effect, it's quite impressive.
