  1. My brain was switching back and forth between snow and beach, and then I read your comment and had to laugh. Whatever atmosphere my brain can or can't settle on, I love the use of samples and the overall atmosphere. Great work!

  2. I'm still being chased by a mummy and as such haven't been able yet to discover and uncover the treasure room inside this mighty pyramid that I found on my way. I expect to need to explore for a while longer to find it, if I can trust these ancient maps I have.

  3. Needs more Tombs & Treasure (e.g. track 6, "El Caracol")!

  7. Only me and chalis have voted. Could I get DusK and Kat to vote too? I know...I know, no voter bonus T_T...maybe I should've competed with something quick just to fill out that spot lol!

  9. Oh yeah, this one! Yeah, this was a pretty fun remix to see on Round 3. The production is fairly clean. I did have a few nitpicks, which were that the left-panned wobble was a bit too resonant for me, and the lyrics weren't really intelligible. That crit about the lyrics turned out to help you though, I think; can't violate the standards with unintelligible lyrics (?)! Other than that though, the meshing of the sources was fairly seamless, and I believe I had voted this highly. EDIT: yup! I put (2).

  10. I'll put you down on the list of available collaborators, then, and I hope someone will take you up on it! The OCR rap scene, never strong to begin with, seems to be in a bit of a downturn lately.

I'm actually surprised people are having difficulties with Tracer as she's probably the squishiest character in the game. Clint Beastwood's stun grenade or Pharah's rockets usually make short work of her. Speaking of, some tips in case you don't know them: - McCree's revolver reloads instantly when you roll. That's basically all the roll is really good for. - In most spots on most maps, you can use the payload as cover and shoot under it at your enemies' feet. Works especially well as Pharah. - Mercy is the only character who can match Pharah's Mobility. Having Mercy as Pharah's wingman can be a devastating combo since Mercy can actively heal Pharah as well as boost her already powerful rockets and ult.

  12. Just do the best you can. You can always go back to the track after the compo is over and polish it up. I still haven't heard back from YoshiBlade on his villain selection. He did say that if someone else wants in that he was fine with letting them take the spot, so if anyone else wants to jump in on the Villain side, there's a place for you if he doesn't get back with me first. On another note, due to Memorial Day being this Monday in the US, I wound up being scheduled to work during the time the current round is set to end. So, I'm going to extend the deadline a few extra hours up to 5 PM Eastern time. I will also aim to start the first Villain round either Sunday night right before I go to bed, or first thing in the morning before work on Monday morning if I get up early enough. If I fail to do either, it'll probably end up being between 4 and 5 PM Eastern, but odds are I'll play it safe and start it late Sunday night.

  13. Yo! A dude is rubbing his hands together like Birdman waiting for this right now. I'm out here looking like a hungry Donkey Kong walking towards his banana horde really. Tl;dr. I'm VERY HYPE for this and can't wait to get my hands on it.

  15. I still listen to it & dig it immensely... some production issues, sure, but THAT ENERGY Super-catchy lyrics/chorus; I think it stands up well.

  16. Reminiscent of "Grand Central Station" by Guy Pratt, but stands beautifully on it's own - Love it.

  17. Yeah I remember this. These guys spent the whole competition rickrolling people. Not a big fan of some of the wubs, which felt a bit out of rhythm at several points, which is a symptom of songs that just throw them around to get "dem dubsteps for the kids" in. I also think they were too prevalent throughout the song and they got old after a while. I did like the use of vocoding to add some flavor and the synth soloing was great. The two themes were fused pretty well into a natural-sounding arrangement. I'm not feeling this one as much as I'd like to, because of the issues above, but I can't disagree that it's a solid offering. Definitely some creative usage of both melodies, which is what pleased me the most. YES
