  1. This reminds me of some material from an English course I took in undergrad on alternative media for literature. I really like things like this, and I would certainly enjoy doing a creative endeavor along those lines.

  2. You could also do music yourself, or work with a musician, to turn your poetry into songs. You could use the poems as lyrics, and edit them to make them fit to a melody of an existing game tune, or you could write original music with the poems as lyrics. As somebody who has tried his whole life to write good poetry/lyrics, and failed miserably, I would jump at the opportunity to turn somebody's poetry into a song.

    More obscure games

We see most remixes of popular games, understandably. Here are some other options, different games, maybe different music genre. I suggest a remix of Aztec Adventure for Sega Master System, especially this track: Something more upbeat, from the makers of Puzzle Bobble, Parasol Stars: And finally, Slap Fight MD. (Only the arcade was released outside Japan as Alcon):

  4. Basically a piano rendition of Great Fairy Fountain where I took some of the motifs and structures of Chopin and combined it with the melody of the original song.

  6. This is hot stuff right here. The video trips me out because it isn't synced with the audio. Stylistically you're doing very well. It takes the ideas of the Chopin and combines them well with the source, especially the places where you venture away from the source melody and harmony. The little Zelda theme tidbit at the end is definitely a good closer. Maybe, in a future attempt at the same concept, think about reharmonizing the original theme to fit the gestures of the period more sincerely. It's not something you're doing wrong, what you have here definitely works and sounds appropriate. It is just a thought of a different direction you could go, and see what kind of fun you find down that rabbit hole. I will say your volume is just a little bit too low. Up it just a tad and you'll be golden.

Also I'd like to point out that there's no such thing as February 31st, so if you are wondering why nobody submitted anything before your deadline, that's why. I'll try to get you a WIP before February 28

LOL, I was just checking the available tracks and stumbled upon Final Daos battle myself... it's one of the few tracks I know and loved, so if you could mark that one in red and put my name behind it, that'd be great

Lufia II: Of Gods and Men

Final Daos battle is a great choice - great battle music, wasn't a part of the project prior (due to it being in the DS and not the original Lufia 2) so it doesn't have a claim. If you want to look at music, start there and work up. My humblest of suggestions. Also, I really like that track, as it was a classic from Lufia 1.

Okay cool. I have material from my previous projects and i link some of them here to show what kind of things i can possibly do. Not greatest arrangements, but there are certain elements that i can mold into something new for this album :D.

  15. Hey. Some rock music I did recently that has an anthemic, shuffle sort of vibe and possibly punk music influence. Let me know if you love it, hate, or have mixed feelings that are strange and confusing about it.

  16. I never played Super Mario RPG (ooh, I can hear the replies being typed right now). I never had a SNES as a kid, and the few people that I knew that owned one didn't have this game. I only know a little of the music from OCR and a few videos on YouTube, videos titled "Top Ten Best SNES Music!" or "Top Ten Mario Game Soundtracks!"... that sort of thing. So I don't have any emotional attachment to the game. It's just another game I never had the opportunity to play, like any of the thousands of other ones I've never touched. But that cover art. That wonderful, beautiful cover art. If there was ever an image to represent all those fond memories of playing a favorite game after dark, at night, in front of the television or underneath the blankets in bed, this would be it. There is a glowing window, a portal to a tiny world. There is no living room floor, no bedroom, no house. Just you, and that little universe. All else fades into the background. Your artists picked one hell of an image to convey the mystery and magic of a video game. I haven't even listened to the music yet, but I already like this album.

  17. It's 2017, MAGFest is over, and it's (past) time we got things back on track! I'll be chatting with @JJT & @zircon - we may need some changes w/ our management approach, but we HAVE reviewed the initial round of WIPs, we'll be contacting artists where feedback is appropriate, and we'll be establishing a new timeline, soon. If anyone has an overabundance of free time AND experience running an album, let me know on Discord if you'd be interested in helping to manage this project with us and we can talk a bit!
